Show Notes

On Episode 317 of Outside The Round, Matt Burrill sits down with the boys of Deltona for a rowdy conversation about how the three-piece came together and why they're determined to bring some fun, energy and rock-and-roll attitude back into country music. The guys share how a Bluebird Cafe clip on Instagram ultimately connected them, leading to their first writing sessions and the realization that they needed to start a band. The conversation dives into Deltona's love for the era of Florida Georgia Line, Jason Aldean and big, in-your-face country records, along with how that influence has shaped songs like “Cared Enough to Cry,” “The Country” and their latest release, “Point of You.” They also talk about signing their publishing deal with Sony, building a team around the band and carving out their own lane while country music continues to evolve. Deltona also opens up about learning how to become a live band in real time, bringing maximum energy whether they're playing for 15 people or a packed crowd, and getting opportunities alongside Lee Brice, Jordan Davis and Dustin Lynch. From early shows and road trips to the loyal fans already buying into what they're building, this episode is a look at a young band having a hell of a time while chasing something much bigger.

[00:00:00] Speaker A: Foreign. [00:00:12] Speaker B: Come on. This is Outside the Round with Matt [00:00:17] Speaker A: Burrill for Rage Rowdy Podcast. What's going on, everybody? Welcome back to another episode of Outside the Round with me, Matt Burrell. Today, some very special guests, some new friends of the family. We got the boys from Deltona. Fellas, how we feeling? [00:00:31] Speaker B: So, dude, heck, yeah, we're happy to be here. [00:00:33] Speaker C: Stoked, man. [00:00:34] Speaker A: I'm stoked to have you boys here. And we were hanging out in the lobby. Got to tour around the studio a little bit. You guys all live out this way, which is cool. [00:00:43] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:00:43] Speaker C: Chris is in Franklin. [00:00:46] Speaker A: Okay. [00:00:46] Speaker B: Two of us do. I walked here. Chris flew here, took a flight. [00:00:51] Speaker D: We take turns. They came to me yesterday. [00:00:52] Speaker B: Yeah, we did. [00:00:54] Speaker D: I'll go to them. [00:00:55] Speaker A: That's awesome. We were talking about, like, the gem that is the Rusty Nail. [00:01:00] Speaker B: Dude. Me and Kayla were just at the Rusty Nail. We hit it up. The best is doing it on a Tuesday, though. Yeah, nobody's there. [00:01:08] Speaker A: Tuesday night now. [00:01:09] Speaker C: Yeah, Tuesday night. [00:01:10] Speaker B: Tuesday night now. Also, me and Kayla will be there. We'll take over the dj. I'll. I get. I. I'd love to say, like, we hack into it. I do pay for touch tunes. [00:01:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:01:20] Speaker B: I end up blowing a hundred dollars on these touch tunes because, like, people will be. There'll be, like, three or four people in there, and they're actually regulars. Me and Caleb just are, like, the. Whatever. Like. I don't know what they call them. The transplants that come in the Rusty Nail just on a bad day. Yeah. And. And so. And so they'll have, like, actual songs playing, and I'll hijack it, and I'll just keep playing, like, the most, bro. Country or just. [00:01:41] Speaker C: I think they hate us. [00:01:42] Speaker A: What are the touch tunes? [00:01:44] Speaker B: Fgl. It's Morgan Wallace, I think the other day I played the full entire One Thing at a Time album back to back. And because. Only because the late. There was a lady in there going like, who keeps playing? Morgan Wallace. [00:01:56] Speaker C: She hated it. [00:01:56] Speaker B: Who keeps doing it? And then. So she would play it, and she'd be like, I got Tennessee whiskey. And she'd play it. And then I'd be like, we gotta get to the next one. Another one. [00:02:06] Speaker D: But I can tell when they're like, it'll be like, 11 or getting close to that time at night. And, like, me or, like, everybody we know will just start getting, like, hit up something. Like, they're at the Rusty Nail. I know they're there. Yeah. [00:02:20] Speaker B: Favorite gift is the Chihuahua. Dancing. [00:02:22] Speaker A: Dog dancing. [00:02:24] Speaker B: Is it Gif or Jif? [00:02:25] Speaker A: I Think it's tomato, tomato, motto. [00:02:27] Speaker D: Whatever you want. [00:02:27] Speaker B: Dude, are you okay right now? Can we address this part? Let's get away from the nail. [00:02:32] Speaker A: So I've got. I've got vertigo. I've had severe vertigo for, like, the past few days. And I got to fly to host Rock the Country in a couple days. [00:02:40] Speaker C: Dude, have you flown since you had vertigo? [00:02:42] Speaker A: Yeah. So I had it last week, and then I had to fly to Canada and host at the Country Rising Festival, which. That was a whole wild situation. You guys see what happened with that festival? [00:02:52] Speaker B: No, wait, that was the one that [00:02:54] Speaker A: the headliner couldn't make it. The plug. [00:02:59] Speaker B: What did he get arrested for? [00:03:00] Speaker A: He got arrested exactly a year to the date for what he got arrested for on August 21, 2025, which was driving and having things in the car that he wasn't supposed to have for speeding and all that. So it ended up working out. But it was weird because it was like I went to Canada feeling dizzy. Then I was good. And then as we were rolling out of Canada, getting going down through the hotel, I looked at our video guy, aik. I was like, oh, shit, I'm dizzy again. And then I was all right on the airplane. Then I got out of the airplane. I've just been dizzy since. [00:03:28] Speaker D: What is it that, like. Like, what happens? [00:03:31] Speaker A: So it's like. It's like the crystals in your ear. There's, like, the handle. Your equilibrium are, like, off. So I had, like, a bad sinus infection, so I think that's what did it. And now I. I'm not as sinusy, [00:03:42] Speaker B: but I don't even. [00:03:43] Speaker A: I'm dizzy as hell. [00:03:44] Speaker B: Equal equilibrium. The fact that I said it without stuttering is crazy. And also, I kind of thought Vertigo was only for cats. [00:03:51] Speaker A: And I know YouTube has a song about it. [00:03:54] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:03:54] Speaker B: Really? Yeah. I thought Vertigo was for cats. Like, only a cat could get a vertigo, but guess I'm a cat. [00:04:00] Speaker D: That's wild Cat. [00:04:03] Speaker B: No cats. I had a cat that had vertigo. Really? It would get up and kind of just like, walk out. Like, it was just hammered. Like, it left the Rusty Nail. [00:04:13] Speaker D: Well, I'm, like, surprised, because you seem like, super dial. [00:04:15] Speaker C: Yeah, dude. [00:04:15] Speaker D: Yeah. The kind of person I'm just. [00:04:17] Speaker A: I mean, driving is a little bit wild. Which, luckily I'm right around the corner from here, and, like, my girlfriend's only like 15 minutes away in Madison, so, like, I've been able to get to and fro. But, like, driving to town tomorrow to Odies is going to be an experience. [00:04:30] Speaker B: Yeah, I You hit the curb coming in, and I was like, golly, this guy's hand. Or he was in the. He was in the car with big extra plug, and he goes, I hadn't been the same since. Like, I haven't done it. [00:04:44] Speaker C: So. [00:04:44] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:04:45] Speaker A: So I want to talk about where you guys are each from. So we'll start with our Nashville native over there. Introduce yourself for the folks that are. [00:04:50] Speaker D: I'm Chris Deaton. I play drums in this group. I'm from Franklin, so I've always been around Nashville, Just south of Nashville, if people don't know. Yeah, very musical town. Everybody here plays. So I, like, grew up playing in bands and stuff like that. Yeah, that's me. [00:05:06] Speaker A: And I want to talk about that Williamson county scene, because I feel like it's been blowing up. Like, we've been seeing a lot of kids coming out of there that cut their teeth at Kimbrough's and cut their teeth at Fox and Lock, like, hanging out in the Leapers Fork. [00:05:18] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. That's an awesome area. And still, like, it hasn't grown a lot. That's what's cool about Leapers Fork in that whole area. Everything else that, like, Franklin, it's massive now. It was not this big when I was a kid. Like, I think, like, I asked my dad the other day, like, what he got our first house for, and it was like, 140. [00:05:35] Speaker C: No way. [00:05:36] Speaker A: 140 in Franklin? [00:05:37] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:05:38] Speaker A: That's insane. [00:05:40] Speaker D: Insane. I mean, now just like, a piece of land's like, dude, half a million dollars. [00:05:43] Speaker B: Yeah. It's like, I'll be on Zillow, and, like, obviously, my things are insanely low, like, on the front of, like, anything. And, dude, I'll find a thing, like, on a trailer, like, just beat the hell. Can you cuss on here? [00:05:55] Speaker A: Yeah, you say whatever you want, buddy. Just beat this. [00:05:59] Speaker B: But. But, like. But, like, you'll find something on there. Like, a. A record will be, like, halfway through it, and it's like, $258,000. You're like, what are you doing? Like, how. [00:06:11] Speaker D: It's crazy. I love it, though. It's great. I love Franklin. Yeah. [00:06:15] Speaker A: And there's a lot of folks that have been moving there. I mean, Fred Durst resides. Fred Durst from Leapers Fork. Some good Charlotte guys, they have. They have some spots. All the. All the, like, 90s, 2000s rock and rollers have been moving into the Williamson county area. [00:06:31] Speaker D: It's on. It's unreal. So people think the money is, like, in Brentwood, and, like, like, that Area kind of like around Cool Springs and everything. And it is. There are rich people there. But if you get just like south of like Franklin and a little station, like, whether it's east or. Or west, bro. Some of those houses, like, you kind of got to drive a little bit. Are massive. [00:06:55] Speaker A: Yeah, bro. And I have some serious money. I used to do that commute when I first moved to town. I worked as a bouncer at Whiskey Row, but I lived in an apartment in Spring Hill and I would drive from Spring Hill to Broadway. I mean, it was probably like an hour each way. A little bit. A little bit lighter driving. I was driving truck. No, I was driving a Toyota Corolla [00:07:17] Speaker D: in between Columbia and Spring Hills, Aldean's ranch. [00:07:24] Speaker B: Okay, we've all seen that TikTok video thing, right? Where that guy keeps driving by James nowadays, mowing his grass or something like that. [00:07:31] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. He used to get his haircut at the. The sports clips in Spring Hill. [00:07:36] Speaker B: Used to go. [00:07:36] Speaker A: Because I used to go get my haircut there and they were like, you know who was just in here? I tell you what. Jason Aldean. He was in here at the sports wearing his ball cap. [00:07:45] Speaker D: We're such big fans. He says that Jason got a haircut. We're like, that's sick. [00:07:48] Speaker B: Yeah, that's sick. Yeah. Which one? [00:07:53] Speaker A: Supporting Tammy Lynn down in. Down in Spring Hill, Tennessee, bro. But that's awesome. And then we got an Ohio boy over there. [00:07:59] Speaker C: Ohio, man. Yeah, Southern Ohio, like South Cincinnati. But I moved to Nashville in like 2019, so I've been here yet. [00:08:05] Speaker A: So bc before COVID That's what I like. I always like to say, I've known this guy or girl BC before COVID you know? [00:08:12] Speaker C: That's right. [00:08:13] Speaker A: So. And I love that area too. One of our. Our lead blogger is a guy named Sam and he runs our rowdy alternative account, which is a lot of memes and a lot more like rock leaning, like red dirt stuff. He lives right on the Kentucky Cincinnati line line. So he goes to a lot of shows up there. And the Cincinnati music scene, like, people get after it up there. They love live music, bro. [00:08:33] Speaker C: Dude, Ohio is like the best place to play, dude. [00:08:35] Speaker B: I feel like we've been playing here lately and they've been so great to us and so nice. It's the only place that'll book us yet, right? [00:08:42] Speaker C: I mean, there's a lot of rock fans in Ohio, but they freaking love country music. They eat it up. [00:08:46] Speaker A: And what's that amphitheater? [00:08:48] Speaker C: It's the riverbend Riverbend's sick. That's where I go is a cool venue, bro. Nickel back there like four times. Kiss there seven times. [00:08:56] Speaker B: What. What kind of venue is it like an amphitheater? [00:08:58] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:08:58] Speaker B: Oh, sick. [00:08:59] Speaker A: So it's, it's like a bigger version of it. It's like a hybrid of like what you've got with Franklin. Was that the First Bank Amphitheater or something? And then like a bigger version of Ascend. [00:09:08] Speaker C: Yeah, but it's like 20, 000 seat. It's a big venue. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Yeah, we did. I got to go there. When I was working with Trey Lewis, we did a summer with Uncle Bob. Kid Rock. [00:09:16] Speaker C: We did. [00:09:17] Speaker A: We did the Kid Rock tour and we went to Riverbend and it was wild. David Allen co came to that show. Got to meet him. Ohio music legend David Allen. [00:09:26] Speaker C: Seriously, bro. [00:09:27] Speaker B: We, me and Kayla were just talking about David Allen coat craziest story. We'd have to make it really fast. [00:09:33] Speaker C: Make it. [00:09:34] Speaker B: Dude, it's not going to be fast. We got all the time. We got all the time in the world. [00:09:38] Speaker D: Leave it. [00:09:39] Speaker A: Leave it to the Georgia boy to tell. [00:09:40] Speaker B: I know I need. I need to shut the up button [00:09:42] Speaker A: like on the table. [00:09:44] Speaker B: But dude, I was watching I not plugging another podcast and I. He's a cool guy and I. I wish I could know the name of the podcast and I would say it. I'm sorry if you see this. Probably wouldn't watch our episode but I think you would hate our music anyway. He has Dave. He has David. He has David Allen co's like manager or something. Some one of his manager like Hank Jr's manager on there and they were talking about how weird it was for Hank being on tour with David Allen co and like Hank would be like I'm not going to eat. Like I'm not going to eat with him. And like David Allen code always be asking me ask him to ask him to eat. Come over and eat it. Like their little not Airbnb but house they were staying in wherever they would be. And he said dude, you got to go over there and tell him I'm not coming to eat something along this story. It's probably a little off. But it was something along this. And his manager goes over there. David Allen Coe has like seven wives. Like they like at one time. At one time that would go around with him everywhere. [00:10:40] Speaker A: And he wasn't a Mormon. [00:10:42] Speaker C: No, no, no. He just loved women. [00:10:45] Speaker B: But the, but the manager guy said he. [00:10:47] Speaker D: Yeah, you're either so religious or a [00:10:48] Speaker B: player there's no middle. There's no middle ground. [00:10:52] Speaker A: He's a redneck dude. Yeah. [00:10:54] Speaker B: And he said, he walks in and he, he was like, it's just like, basically they'd only been there for like a day or something and it's like just total. Just drug trapped house. And it was like a nice place. And he said that like not one single one of the girls were like even remotely attractive to it at all. Like they were just like these random women that he would find that would just agree to all live together. And he was. And he said it was the craziest experience. [00:11:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:11:17] Speaker B: I don't know where the story. [00:11:18] Speaker C: It's wild though because like being from Ohio, you would hear so many people be like, yeah, David Alcohol is like my uncle. I mean, he has like so many offspring just everywhere, dude. Yeah. [00:11:28] Speaker A: Drugs and rock and roll, bro. [00:11:29] Speaker C: Yeah. I don't know how many kids he has, but he has like so much family around there. [00:11:33] Speaker B: My dad, my dad would always have that. It's the Black and white album cover with him with the big long beard, big hair and he looks like. He doesn't look like bad in that. Like I kind of looked. I was like, dude, that's. He looks cool as hell in that fucking picture. And then like that's all I knew. And I was probably like 14. Listen to that. [00:11:51] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:11:52] Speaker B: And then later on, like, like a Google picture came up. I hope. Is he alive? [00:11:56] Speaker C: No, he just passed. [00:11:57] Speaker A: Oh, I think he passed in the last. [00:11:59] Speaker B: I don't know how if this is a. I don't know, rules. But like then I saw a picture of him like later on. I was like, holy shit, dude. And then like hearing all these stories, I was like, that is not the guy I thought I was looking at on the Black and White album. He's a gangster, dude. He's a crazy guy. [00:12:14] Speaker A: Wild. So now we got to talk about Calhoun, Georgia, your hometown. Mr. Ned over there. So what do you do within the band? [00:12:20] Speaker B: I just sing. I'm not that talented of a musician at all. I can play a few chords if it always pisses him off. Like, I can't even touch a guitar. [00:12:28] Speaker C: He'll go tick tock live. And I'm watching him play guitar, I'm like, oh my God, those aren't the chords at all. [00:12:34] Speaker B: If I even see his name pop in, I'm just like, no, just get out. Just get out. It don't stop watching this. Even if we're in the same room. I'll start like messing around, playing guitar and I can Just know I'm just getting on his nerves. But I just sing. I just sing. [00:12:50] Speaker A: And how long you been here in Nashville? [00:12:52] Speaker B: I've been here, I think for like five, six years. I don't know, something along that around the round. No, it was after Co. Or like right after Covid. Maybe. I can't remember. Something. I think 20, 21. [00:13:07] Speaker A: And now I want to give you your. Your soapbox here for another long winded story. You were talking about how Buc ruined Calhoun, Georgia. I personally love. [00:13:15] Speaker B: Oh, you did just open a box. [00:13:17] Speaker A: I love Bucky's. And I think no, Buc ee's is great. [00:13:21] Speaker B: If you're watching Buc ee's sponsor us, we'll do whatever for that. [00:13:25] Speaker D: How so though? What did it? [00:13:26] Speaker B: No, so I just. We're about to ruin the w. I'm about to ruin the sponsorship right here. No, I have two things. One, I live not too far from where the BUC EE's is. And we had like. We were one of the first houses. Like it wasn't even a neighborhood. Now, oh my gosh, I. At night time, if I'm ever back home, I go outside. We had like. We have our pasture and like. Like there's a pond and everything. We had woods like that. I grew up all in. Now half of it is just fucking all chopped the hell down. And now all you hear is trucks pulling in everything because there's all kinds of stuff. Then now Bucky's comes. It's the biggest thing. I mean, that's the only reason you knew what we were. And like you can hear the cars like from here. Like it's insane. There's so many. [00:14:09] Speaker A: When you tour, you learn to know where the good travel stops, you know, where the good gloves is versus the shitty pipe. [00:14:15] Speaker B: And you know, I am kind of giving my address or my mom's address. So I guess it's okay. Lock your doors. But I love this gas station right beside where we lived called the sun or sun or Sunco or whatever. Sunoco. [00:14:31] Speaker C: Sun is crazy Sunday. [00:14:32] Speaker B: I thought it was a D. I guess it's a big. [00:14:37] Speaker D: That's a good gas station too, though. I've been there before too. [00:14:40] Speaker B: But they were. They had like a. They were like locally owned, but still the sun labels on the gas pumps and everything. But they were so cool. [00:14:48] Speaker C: They'd sell to you. Yeah, they'd sell you underage. That's why you like it. [00:14:51] Speaker A: They have good biscuits. [00:14:52] Speaker B: I don't even think they own the same people on it. [00:14:53] Speaker A: Was it one of those Southern gas stations that like, had the breakfast sandwiches and the chicken biscuits and all that. [00:14:59] Speaker B: But like, now they're still the Sun Sonic Suno is still there. [00:15:03] Speaker C: Still not right. [00:15:04] Speaker B: I know. I've been calling it Sunday Cove my whole life. [00:15:07] Speaker C: Sonoco. [00:15:07] Speaker B: Sonoco. [00:15:10] Speaker D: I have no idea what. Is that it? Yeah. [00:15:13] Speaker A: And they're the. They're the sponsor when you look at NASCAR. [00:15:16] Speaker B: Yeah, dude, that's why I like NASCAR. I have it on my NASCAR 25, my player car. [00:15:21] Speaker C: There you go. [00:15:22] Speaker B: So I should know what it's called and I just call it sponsor dude. [00:15:25] Speaker D: Anyway, I could live off gas. I love them gas stations. [00:15:30] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:15:30] Speaker D: In general. [00:15:30] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:15:31] Speaker D: All the food, it's where the pouches are. [00:15:33] Speaker C: Yep. Everything you need. You don't need a grocery. [00:15:35] Speaker D: I get sad, like, if I'm like leaving my house just to go to the gas station, I asked like, my wife, like, does she want something? If she says no, I get like, bummed out. [00:15:41] Speaker A: I'm like, why? Why? [00:15:42] Speaker C: Why would you not love something? [00:15:43] Speaker A: Yeah. And I love the random stuff. And every gas station is like, different. Like it blew my mind going. Coming from the Northeast because all of our sandwiches come from Italian and Jewish delis in New York. [00:15:54] Speaker C: Yeah, that's right. [00:15:55] Speaker A: We don't have the food at the. Like, you don't go to the gas station to get food. You go there to like get beer and snacks. [00:16:01] Speaker D: This lottery. This is going to sound dumb because I don't know this, like, at all. Yeah, but like. So Bodega. Is that what it's called? Right? [00:16:07] Speaker A: Bodega. Those are city. [00:16:08] Speaker D: So for so long I thought that there was a store called Bodeg Bodega. No, but that's what you refer to as that kind of place. [00:16:16] Speaker A: That is a foreign owned deli convenience store where you can buy pretty much anything. [00:16:21] Speaker B: Foreign owned convenience store that does. But bodegas don't have gas. [00:16:26] Speaker A: No, you don't have gas in your York City. Nobody's. [00:16:28] Speaker C: Yeah, that's true. [00:16:28] Speaker A: Not a lot of cars there. You know how much it costs for a gallon of gas in New York City? It's like eight bucks. [00:16:32] Speaker C: No way. [00:16:33] Speaker D: They're like only like two gas stations in Manhattan. [00:16:36] Speaker B: Yeah, but most of y', all, like, most people don't drive though, right? [00:16:38] Speaker A: No, we got trains and we walk. [00:16:40] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:40] Speaker A: I mean, there's six million. [00:16:41] Speaker B: I've been a couple times. [00:16:42] Speaker A: It's like six or I forget how many it is now. It's like 6 or 7 million people on a 13 mile island. [00:16:47] Speaker B: Dude, it is. [00:16:47] Speaker C: That's so Crazy. That sounds like hell. [00:16:50] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:16:50] Speaker A: But the bodegas on every corner, it's like you go in and they're open pretty much 24 hours, and all the sandwiches are fire. You can get whatever you want. [00:16:58] Speaker B: They got pizza. [00:16:59] Speaker C: And, dude, you seen the guy on TikTok. [00:17:00] Speaker A: This is at the pizza places. You don't eat bodega pizza. [00:17:03] Speaker D: Yeah, yeah. [00:17:04] Speaker A: That's like the gas station pizza. I got a gripe on the gas station pizza. I want to get to your tick tock thing. [00:17:08] Speaker B: I don't like gas station pizza either. They like eating it. [00:17:11] Speaker A: How does Hump Brothers exist? [00:17:13] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm not a Hump Brothers guy. [00:17:15] Speaker D: No, I'm not. They also don't like DiGiorno. That's another talk for another time, I guess. [00:17:19] Speaker C: Pizza talk. [00:17:20] Speaker D: Yeah, but I do not like that Hunt pizza. [00:17:22] Speaker C: No. It's always fun Brothers, the Godfather. But, dude, if you're, like, so deathly hungover and that's your only option, it kind of rocks. [00:17:29] Speaker A: Oh, it does save. It does save lives, for sure. It helps you out in a pinch. [00:17:33] Speaker B: Where did we go? I never been there. This is like we were coming back from some. [00:17:37] Speaker D: We love Wawa. [00:17:38] Speaker B: That's cool. That's a. [00:17:41] Speaker A: That's a Jersey. [00:17:42] Speaker C: They're bringing one out here. [00:17:44] Speaker D: I just drove past it, dude. [00:17:45] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:17:46] Speaker D: And I got so pumped. [00:17:47] Speaker A: I was like, oh, it's open. [00:17:48] Speaker D: And then it wasn't. But it's about to be. [00:17:49] Speaker A: Well, you saw what. That's over here in Hermitage. So there's. We're getting a Wawa and an in and out. [00:17:55] Speaker B: Ruin this town where That. [00:17:57] Speaker A: I know. Circle K. That used to be the map. [00:18:01] Speaker B: The whole entire town. [00:18:03] Speaker C: No, I love it. [00:18:05] Speaker B: I just got that. I'm sorry. I'm slow. I stica slow. [00:18:09] Speaker D: Wawas are great, though. [00:18:10] Speaker A: Yeah. I like Wawa. I like sheets a lot sheets. [00:18:13] Speaker D: If you go. [00:18:14] Speaker A: And I've gotten to go now. How many states have you guys toured through? It sounds like a lot of shows in Ohio. [00:18:19] Speaker C: Yeah, we haven't got out west yet. [00:18:21] Speaker B: I've never been to California. We've done a couple. [00:18:26] Speaker C: We went to Arkansas. That's as far west as we've been. [00:18:28] Speaker A: Okay. [00:18:29] Speaker B: Yeah, I haven't been to. [00:18:30] Speaker D: We've been all up and down the [00:18:32] Speaker A: east, like, through the east Coast. [00:18:34] Speaker D: We've also go down to, like, Florida and Savannah. [00:18:37] Speaker C: Our van only makes it so far. We can't push it. [00:18:40] Speaker B: I forgot about Savannah because there's different, [00:18:44] Speaker A: like, Wawa equivalents in different areas. So, like, the far northeast has a thing called Turkey Hill. Then you have Cumberland Farms. It's in, like, the Delmarva area. Like, Delaware, Maryland, Virginia. I love. There's one called Quick Trip, and it's spelled K W, I K. Wisconsin. And they're in Wisconsin and they're in Minnesota. And they're unbelievable. Best donuts I've ever had. [00:19:07] Speaker D: I think I've had those. [00:19:08] Speaker A: So those are out there. Come and go is another one. [00:19:10] Speaker B: Are they only one of those, too? [00:19:15] Speaker D: Think there might be some in Atlanta. [00:19:16] Speaker B: I think there's one of what? What? I think there's one. I'm not going to come and go. [00:19:20] Speaker A: They're great. Hey, when you go. You got to buy a T shirt when you go there. [00:19:24] Speaker B: We've seen. We've definitely said that going down the road or. [00:19:27] Speaker C: I probably have [00:19:30] Speaker B: whatever. The Quick Trip to W. I think [00:19:32] Speaker D: there is in Duluth. [00:19:33] Speaker B: I think there's some in Georgia. [00:19:34] Speaker A: Really? [00:19:35] Speaker B: Yeah. Man. [00:19:35] Speaker D: What's weird about, though, is it's all up there, like, northeast and then a ton in Florida. [00:19:41] Speaker A: Well, that's where. [00:19:41] Speaker B: Is that. [00:19:42] Speaker D: Because the guy, like, retired. [00:19:44] Speaker A: That's where our old people go to die, bro. [00:19:46] Speaker D: So is that what it. That's because it's a guy from up there and then, like, he went to retire, probably. [00:19:50] Speaker A: So. [00:19:51] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:19:51] Speaker A: That's like New Yorkers in New Jersey and Philly, like, we all go down to Florida. Like, that's why they're coming here now, because there's that familiarity. That's why In N Out's coming here. [00:20:00] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:00] Speaker A: California. You're in Williamson County. You're. You're in California. The California section of. [00:20:06] Speaker D: Yeah, I know. [00:20:06] Speaker A: I saw an in and out. [00:20:08] Speaker D: I've been to in and out. I just. [00:20:09] Speaker A: There's one right off the Thompson Station exit, too. [00:20:13] Speaker B: They can handle it over there. We cannot handle an in and out on this exit. It. The exit's already backed up. [00:20:20] Speaker D: Traffic. [00:20:20] Speaker C: Traffic. [00:20:22] Speaker B: It's gonna. [00:20:22] Speaker A: Do you remember when the Water Burger opened? [00:20:24] Speaker B: No, I wasn't here probably yet when [00:20:26] Speaker A: that Water Burger opened. No, you would have been here. It was a few years ago. But the lines for Whataburger. [00:20:30] Speaker C: That's crazy. [00:20:32] Speaker A: Like, two hours. [00:20:34] Speaker D: Do you like Whataburger? [00:20:34] Speaker A: I do. I prefer in and out over Whataburger. Just because of the secret menu. [00:20:38] Speaker B: There you go. [00:20:39] Speaker A: Just because of the secret menu. You get animal style. [00:20:42] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:20:43] Speaker A: The. The Neapolitan chick. Yeah. If you look. It's the menu. [00:20:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:20:46] Speaker A: Oh, it's like if, you know. You know, we went. [00:20:49] Speaker B: I've been. We've done in and out, what, twice? I've tried it once or twice. We've done it twice. [00:20:54] Speaker D: What? Which one? [00:20:55] Speaker B: In, out. [00:20:56] Speaker C: I don't think you have. [00:20:56] Speaker B: No. Yeah, we tried it. [00:20:57] Speaker C: Really? [00:20:58] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:20:58] Speaker C: I love in and out. [00:20:59] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:20:59] Speaker A: So there's one. There's one. [00:21:00] Speaker B: Oh, no. Me and Ellie, I think tried it. [00:21:02] Speaker A: There's one opening up. It used to be a driving range that was right here on Old Hickory Boulevard. There's going to be a Wawa and an in and out where that driving range. [00:21:09] Speaker C: That's going to be crazy. [00:21:10] Speaker A: So it's going to be. It's going to be a little nutty. [00:21:13] Speaker D: We had Caleb try Culver's for the first time. [00:21:18] Speaker C: Dude, it's kind of really good, dude. Yeah, it competes within an hour. [00:21:21] Speaker A: So a fun thing, a fun fact about me too, is we're all getting to know each other here. So we work with Surfside and they. Since I don't consume alcohol, but I'm a spokesperson for him here in Nashville. Their owner Matt came up with an idea where, like, how Dave Portnoy reviews pizza. He wanted somebody to review fried chicken sandwiches. So if you go on Surfside's Tick Tock, there's a bunch of videos of me doing a thing called Cluck around and Find Out. [00:21:46] Speaker C: Dude. [00:21:47] Speaker A: I go to. I go to fast food establishments, local chicken joints in all the states that I go to when we're doing our festival stuff. And I rate it on the cluck O meter. Now Culver's fried chicken sandwich has the highest score of any fast food chain on the clock. I gave. I gave. [00:22:04] Speaker D: Wow. [00:22:05] Speaker A: I gave them a 9. I think it was a 9.1 or 9.2. [00:22:08] Speaker C: That's crazy. [00:22:09] Speaker A: Their Culver's is very. [00:22:10] Speaker B: What is chickfila? [00:22:11] Speaker D: It's so good. [00:22:12] Speaker A: Chick fil A. I haven't done the original. I've done the. I've had it before, but I haven't done like a video on. I did the Pimento. The Pimento. I gotta do the waffle. I gotta do that waffle one. They just came out. [00:22:22] Speaker B: Yeah, I gotta try the waffle one. [00:22:24] Speaker A: I gotta try one of those. But the highest score is a 9.6. There was a spot in Denver and it was like a fried chicken patty melt thing. [00:22:32] Speaker D: And it was. [00:22:33] Speaker B: Dude. [00:22:34] Speaker A: Blew my mind. [00:22:35] Speaker B: You go to Popeyes on the right day. [00:22:40] Speaker A: Was. All right. The ones that I didn't like, Like, I tried. I've tried, like, the McDonald's. Like, I've spiked some sandwiches. Like, if I don't like it, Captain D's I spiked. [00:22:50] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:22:51] Speaker C: It doesn't sound good. [00:22:52] Speaker B: I wouldn't eat Arby's. [00:22:53] Speaker C: Whoa, easy. I love Arby's. [00:22:55] Speaker A: You love our. [00:22:55] Speaker B: I love our. Bone to pick with you. I've ate Arby's for the. [00:22:58] Speaker C: Have you had the classic roast beef sandwich? [00:22:59] Speaker A: I promise we'll get into the music. No, I didn't. [00:23:02] Speaker C: We need to talk about art. [00:23:03] Speaker D: We went past food all day. [00:23:05] Speaker B: I was alone all weekend, and I went to Arby's for some dumbass reason, because Caleb's always talking about, this is my favorite restaurant. And I was like, I've never been. Let me go try it. And so I go in there, and I was like, what do I get? I know. The curly fries. That's what I'd had before. And I was like, those are gonna be good. I got that. And a Philly cheesesteak. [00:23:22] Speaker C: No, that's not good. That's a new menu item, and it's not good. He just orders the wrong stuff to where? [00:23:28] Speaker D: Like, restaurants that I love too. He'll go and order something that, like, that's crazy. [00:23:32] Speaker A: What's another example of a Ned misorder? [00:23:34] Speaker D: Dude kind of keep on trying to have him get, like. Like, try sushi, like, properly, like, have for the first time. [00:23:40] Speaker C: And he gets the weirdest fish. Yeah, like, oh. He gets like, yeah, exactly. I'm like, dude, no. [00:23:47] Speaker D: He had a little California with, like, crunchy shrimp. [00:23:51] Speaker B: Yeah, some of those are good, but a lot of them, like, y' all are even kidding yourself of, like, you're just putting a cold thing in your mouth and going like, oh, yeah. [00:23:59] Speaker C: Sushi is. [00:24:00] Speaker A: You gotta have it with the soy with a little bit of the wasabi. [00:24:02] Speaker B: But then it's so. [00:24:03] Speaker C: But when we get out west, good sushi, there's not great sushi, dude. [00:24:08] Speaker B: Hibachi, though, is so much better than sushi that you would never even need to. [00:24:11] Speaker A: Well, you got to go to the joints that have both of them. [00:24:13] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:24:14] Speaker A: And you can get hibachi. [00:24:15] Speaker B: I'll do a California. I feel like I'm being so loud. I'll be. I'll do it. I'll do a California roll. [00:24:20] Speaker C: California rolls. Great, man. [00:24:22] Speaker A: So I want to get into how you boys met. Now. [00:24:24] Speaker C: Can I get another surfside? [00:24:26] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [00:24:27] Speaker A: Let's see if they can break the record. I think Don Lewis holds. Holds the record for number. How many was it sides consumed? Yeah, he was just one guy, and I think he drank, like, four of them. Oh, it was at, like, 8 in the morning. [00:24:38] Speaker C: Oh, that's kind of crazy. [00:24:41] Speaker B: Can you go ahead and put four of them here [00:24:44] Speaker C: and then we'll just. Yeah. How long do we have? [00:24:46] Speaker A: I mean, as long as you all want. [00:24:47] Speaker B: It's kind of like tea almost tasting. [00:24:49] Speaker A: So I want. [00:24:50] Speaker B: Really good. [00:24:50] Speaker A: So I want to ask how you boys had gotten linked up. So we're coming up on year. Year three of Deltona, right? We're in the midst of. Midst of that. And you boys met at a random writers round night at the Bluebird, right? [00:25:02] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, Dude. [00:25:03] Speaker C: So the story always seems like we were there. We weren't there. We just. [00:25:08] Speaker B: I know. That's sick. [00:25:09] Speaker C: We gotta kill these asap. [00:25:11] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:25:12] Speaker C: We actually saw it on Instagram. So me and Ned, or me and Chris have played music together for a long time here in Nashville. And we saw the Bluebird post a video, Ned singing a song he wrote. And we were like, oh, that's a cool song. He doesn't completely suck, so let's hit him up. And we started writing and it was just natural. I think we just kind of like fell into it. Like, we gotta. We gotta be a band. We gotta do this. [00:25:33] Speaker D: We knew that we'd be able to write well together because the song that he. That we saw, it's like, oh, that's something we would write. But like, as soon as we got together and wrote and we're like, oh, the hang's here. Pretty shortly after we decided to be [00:25:47] Speaker C: a band and we're just like, massive fans of country music. And so is Ned. Like, he would just like, spill about his favorite artist and it was. It was cool. [00:25:55] Speaker A: Now, what song was that and did that end up getting released? [00:25:58] Speaker B: No, that song got canned. So it's always so funny. They're like, dude, they. We heard that song he was playing and it was so good, we had to write with him. It's like that song. I. I don't like the song either. It kind of. It. See, I wasn't good. [00:26:10] Speaker D: I still love this song. Yeah. [00:26:11] Speaker B: But it was called it is always funny. [00:26:13] Speaker D: But I will say, the song that we first. The first song that we wrote after meeting that very next. Right. Did come out. That's a song called Care Enough to Cry. [00:26:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:26:23] Speaker B: And that kind of felt like that was the one that was like, okay, now we're going to start this as the whole band rap thing. And I don't know how long after that was, cuz. Care enough to cry. Burt. Button. There's no button. That was a bad bird too. Wasn't even funny. [00:26:42] Speaker C: Wasn't even that cool. [00:26:42] Speaker B: Yeah, it wasn't even Funny or cool. Anyway, continue. I'm sorry. [00:26:46] Speaker D: I lost talking about care enough to cry while burping. [00:26:48] Speaker B: That's such, like, an emotional song. [00:26:49] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:26:50] Speaker D: But anyway. Yeah. So that's kind of how we all got together. [00:26:53] Speaker A: That's awesome. And you guys go from the first release being like an emotional. In that ballad lane to now just dropping some bangers. Talk about the. The energy that you guys have not only on stage, but in the. In the writing room. And then it seems like you boys would have a lot of fun recording these songs as well, right? Yeah. [00:27:14] Speaker D: I think that's one reason we like Aldean so much, because he has y. But. But then he also has like, heaters. You know what I mean? Like, let's party. And I think right now we're just having too good of a time to be putting out. Like, we're just having so much fun to where we just want to party and we just want to write party songs right now. [00:27:28] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:27:28] Speaker B: And it even feels like our fans, like the, like, at our level fans that we have right now because, like, we're at our spot where we don't have a ton of fans, but the fans we do have, they are like ride or die. And they're the best shout out to them. But. But they. It seems like they're more kind of wanting that and like, liking that side of it too. And it's. And that. And it feels like you get the whole brand of us at our full band shows. And like, doing that is the most fun. And like every other act right now, it does feel like everybody's in this kind of like sleepy. The whole genre almost feels like it's kind of in this sleepy area. And it's like, how can we change this up just a little bit bit? [00:28:09] Speaker A: I love it. I love it. It's like a new. It's like a new. A new. But flavor that we know. [00:28:15] Speaker B: Yeah. Right. Right. And not. Yeah. We're not coming out of left field with some random sound or anything. [00:28:20] Speaker D: But we sang about beer. [00:28:21] Speaker B: Yeah. We still have beer trucking, I think every song. [00:28:25] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:28:26] Speaker A: No, and that's. And that's. That's very important. And it's just like. Like, talk about the country. Because that's one that I just feel is a. Is a tailgating. You're on a boat. Just banger with the boys. [00:28:39] Speaker C: Yeah, dude. It's kind of just about like where we're from. We were just all talking about, like, I guess Chris isn't from a small town, but like, it was at the time yeah. [00:28:48] Speaker A: How old are you? [00:28:49] Speaker D: My upbringing, it was a small town. [00:28:50] Speaker C: I'm 33. 33. [00:28:52] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:52] Speaker A: So 33. So, yeah. 90s, like before the boom of like 2010, 2013. [00:28:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:28:57] Speaker C: But like, in Franklin, you try that in Franklin, see what happens. That's what Jason was writing. [00:29:04] Speaker B: Jason was right about Frank. [00:29:07] Speaker C: No, like Ned's dad. Like, his dad owns a Dairy Queen. So we're like putting Dairy Queen in the first verse and just like all the we do. [00:29:13] Speaker B: The country was like. The country was like one of the first songs we wrote again, like, that was still right around the care Enough to cry. It was very. At the beginning and it kind of made it through the whole entire other hundred something songs that we've wrote into, like, I don't even know when we put that out, like two, three months ago. [00:29:30] Speaker C: Yeah. And that was the first song we, like, posted on social media, really. So, like since day one. [00:29:35] Speaker B: And it kind of felt like at that point we were like, like, okay. And the people that were following us a year or two years ago when we were. A year and a half ago when we launched the page, we're like, okay, this does kind of make sense. Like, let's do the country now and put that out. And it's so fun. Like, yeah, it's fast, it's up tempo. It's fun to do live. [00:29:53] Speaker A: Yeah. And I feel like right now, like you guys were saying, we've been in this area where everything's very, very slow. And we love slow side songs. [00:30:01] Speaker B: Yeah, it's my favorite. [00:30:02] Speaker A: But we've been looking for the. The upbeat thing. And also bands in terms of rock music are coming back and. [00:30:09] Speaker B: Right. [00:30:09] Speaker A: I feel like you guys are in that lane within country. Like. [00:30:12] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:30:12] Speaker A: There's no better time for you boys to be doing what you're doing than right here in 2026. [00:30:18] Speaker B: There is no bigger fan of a slowing, slow, sad song than me right here. They won't. They won't let me ride them every single day. Like, I would ride it every single day and. But I also get it as a listener and me being a listener, going like, dude, what is going on? But, like, there is. There's my favorite songs. The blues man, like Hank Jr. And it's like, that's the slowest song. [00:30:38] Speaker A: But you can also take like going to your. Your forefathers of BK&T hub from FG. [00:30:44] Speaker B: Yeah, right. [00:30:44] Speaker A: Like when they did that cover of the Blackstone Cherry song, Stay. [00:30:48] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:30:48] Speaker A: That is an emotional song, but melodically it hits heavy. Like, tell me how you like, it. Like, all those Slower Sipping on Fire, bro. Like, those are songs that are written like ballads but then get produced like bangers. [00:31:02] Speaker B: Yeah. And they just have something like, hey, crack in it. We're about to cover Stay this weekend. We got it in every set list right now. [00:31:10] Speaker A: I love it. [00:31:11] Speaker D: We covered them all the time. [00:31:12] Speaker A: Oh, I'm sure. And I think it makes a lot of sense with the. The team that you guys have around you as well, which I gotta ask about that with. So you guys met and started kicking it, writing together. When did it start growing to where you've got this team in your corner that's now just dumping gasoline on your fire? [00:31:30] Speaker B: So we just signed our publishing deal with Sony, and now, like, get. When? That was probably, like, two, three. Three months ago, maybe. Now I have no clue. [00:31:39] Speaker A: Well, I'm even talking about, like, the core again, Right. Having a management team in your corner and getting champions that are like, you boys are on this. [00:31:46] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:31:46] Speaker B: And mainly putting the full entire win and, like, keeping the wind in your cell kind of thing of like, being. Making you feel more of a rock star than you actually are. Like, you're going in. They're like, yeah, you. You are somebody. Then you go out and you're playing like nobody. And you're like, yeah, no, we're. We're serious. We're like, we're gonna be a big deal. [00:32:06] Speaker C: No, but, like, once we started riding, Nashville's such a small town, like, somebody knows somebody that knows somebody. And then Chief at the core, he. He started hearing what we were writing. He's like, I gotta get these guys in here. Gotta check them out. And we clicked immediately. [00:32:18] Speaker B: Shout out. [00:32:19] Speaker D: It was so quick, because at this point point, FGL was no more. And literally, Chief said, the world needs another fgo. We were like, yeah, where do we sign? [00:32:29] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah. How do we sign our live award? [00:32:32] Speaker D: That's what we're trying to do. [00:32:33] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:32:34] Speaker D: And it was very, like, raw. Like, that stuff's good, but it was very, like, the music industry was kind of very, like, raw. Zach Bryant or. Like, there was a lot of that going on, and we're very kind of, like, sparked. Like how you were talking about the FGL songs. [00:32:49] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:32:49] Speaker D: It's, like, very commercial and in your face. And Chief understood that from the. That's the kind of records I like to make. And we're like, this is perfect. [00:32:58] Speaker A: Are you guys pro. Pro wrestling fans, dude? [00:33:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:33:02] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:33:02] Speaker A: So it's funny. I've been making this analogy a lot. I'm sure Chief will be watching this. What I like to say is, you know, like how Brock Lesnar has Paul Heyman, The Undertaker had Paul Bear. [00:33:12] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:33:12] Speaker A: When I look at what. What Chief and Simon are so good at is finding young talent and turning them into that. [00:33:19] Speaker D: They are. [00:33:19] Speaker A: They are heel manager. [00:33:20] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:33:21] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:33:21] Speaker A: I've watched what they've done going back. Going back to like, Chad and the guys from Nickelback and going into Hinder and then. Yeah. And then baby Morgan and baby Hardy and baby now. And now the guys that are at the forefront now of like, Bailey and Jr. And Nate and now you guys and now Hunt and Brandon and like, yeah, he. He. He finds a way to help you guys further along and he's just a dude that's in your corner and he finds a team that gets built around it, but it just amplifies and turns into that. Like, I remember when Nate moved to town and now he's like a gorilla that beats his chest, you know? Like, it's so cool to watch so to have. Have. Have folks that have that kind of street cred give their seal of approval to kids like yourselves that are coming up and 100%. [00:34:07] Speaker D: And he makes us feel like. [00:34:08] Speaker B: Right, exactly. [00:34:09] Speaker D: He makes those feel like super. [00:34:10] Speaker B: Right. Those are almost like pinch yourself moments when that caliber. Because exactly what you're saying they had. If you go back through all of what you're doing of like fgl, even Nate Smith was on the Dangerous tour. Like, they. It seems like they. They have had their hand in so much of this stuff, like, coming up, it's insane. Also, shout out Simon's birthday today. [00:34:29] Speaker C: Oh, happy birthday. [00:34:30] Speaker B: Happy birthday. [00:34:31] Speaker A: He likes tequila. I hope he's drinking. [00:34:33] Speaker C: I'm sure he is. [00:34:34] Speaker B: And also he's. Hopefully he's drinking some Surfside. [00:34:37] Speaker C: Yeah, you gotta get on these time. [00:34:39] Speaker A: Let's see if we can get some dropped off at the office there you Chief Simon and. And all the. All the team over there. So what is touring kind of been like for you guys? Because you are at the stage now where. Where the team is starting to grow. You're getting these. These partners involved that are there to get you guys out there. So what does a Deltona show look like and sound like? Because we got one coming up in a few weeks here at Odies and we're so excited to have you all on Rowdy on the Railway. [00:35:05] Speaker B: We. We've played at Odies once and they were so nice to us and it's one of the best, I think one of maybe the best place to play at Right now in Nashville for like in somewhere here. But don't smoke anywhere around their green room. Don't do that. [00:35:21] Speaker A: Yeah, it's not. Yeah. So no doing that, but. What? No doing that, Sonically, cuz it's. You guys are a three piece up there. [00:35:29] Speaker B: Yeah, we're playing anywhere that'll even have us right now. But going into. We've been doing a lot of acoustic shows and those are amazing. We've been actually with Lee Bryce, the coolest dude ever. He's so sick, dude. He is. Oh, freaking. He's just a badass dude. He's so cool. But. And then we just went on. We did some Dustin Jordan Davis stuff also. The man. [00:35:52] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:52] Speaker B: And then we did just recently a Dustin lynch show, which did. He's one of the coolest dudes and his whole bone was so dope. Dude. Have you met any of that, Chris? Oh, yeah. [00:36:03] Speaker A: Gotten to watch all those guys kind of come up and. And gotten to see their shows at festivals. And those are all guys that are part of the era that you guys love so much, right? [00:36:13] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [00:36:15] Speaker A: There's a Cowboys and angels in there, but 100. But then you have all the Dustin lynch bangers. I drive your truck to parking lot party. [00:36:23] Speaker B: Right? [00:36:23] Speaker A: You know, for real. [00:36:24] Speaker B: Yeah, dude, you got to hear the new the Dogs are Barking song. Lee Brass, have you heard that? [00:36:29] Speaker A: I have not heard that. We're seeing him in a couple weeks up in Philly. [00:36:34] Speaker B: It's a rock dude. [00:36:35] Speaker C: But Adele Shona show is just rowdy. I mean, there's three of us on stage, but it feels massive. I mean, not to like too darn, but it's like, it's so fun, dude. And that's what we want to bring back. We've heard a lot of people that like, see us for the first time. They're like, oh, I get it now. Like, I see you on social media and could tell you, like fun rednecks and you like to party. But like, when I see your live show, it all makes sense. Like, you guys get after it. [00:36:56] Speaker A: Yeah. And that to me there's like. It's funny, we were talking about like, sonically, the. That Zach Bryan kind of era. Like, I personally didn't get it until I saw a Zach Bryan show live. And I was like, oh, yeah, dude. [00:37:09] Speaker B: I kind of felt the same. [00:37:10] Speaker A: There's something about seeing an act. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:13] Speaker C: Live. [00:37:13] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:37:14] Speaker A: And it's just right now such a weird time because like I was telling you guys, I Remember seeing seeing BK&T hub at a small theater in Philadelphia. And I don't even know if that place does shows anymore. Like, all the spots where you guys would have an opportunity to headline and kind of come up club shows are in a weird spot right now. So it's like, it really depends on these opening slots, these festival side stages, things like that. But if y' all can get up there and win a crowd over, that's doing your job, you know? [00:37:40] Speaker B: Yeah. We just did a country thunder show. [00:37:42] Speaker A: How was that, bro? [00:37:44] Speaker B: It was sick. [00:37:45] Speaker A: That's a big festival, too. [00:37:46] Speaker B: A huge festival. We were the. I think we were the 1pm slot. [00:37:49] Speaker C: Yeah. So early. [00:37:50] Speaker B: We came out there sprinting. Dude, it's so fun. There's like 15 people there, and we're on 10. [00:37:57] Speaker C: I mean, we're fire. [00:37:58] Speaker B: Yeah, on 10. And we're like, there's a billion people here, dude. [00:38:01] Speaker C: There's a video of that on Tick Tock. Like, there's like, nobody there. I mean, there's like 15 people. It was awesome. Early slot, but Ned comes out running, and then Russell Dickerson saw that, and he's like, this is what it's about, boys. You guys just keep crushing it. So it's cool to see people like that realize, like, they get it. [00:38:17] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. That's what it's all about is taking making the most of the opportunities that you have early on. [00:38:22] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:38:22] Speaker A: Because then a guy like Russell Dickerson sees that and that could turn into a torchlight, you know, Like. [00:38:27] Speaker B: Like. [00:38:27] Speaker A: Yeah, like. Like getting to know and having that. That hang time and getting to learn from guys like Lee Bryce and Dustin lynch, you know, like, it's. And Jordan Davis. It's. It's important, and you just got to take advantage of the opportunities, no matter how big or small. [00:38:41] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:38:41] Speaker A: With where you guys are at right [00:38:42] Speaker D: now, I think that's one thing that's, like, super cool about country music, too. Is. I was about to say most. No. Every single artist that we've opened up for or that we've been around has, like, just encouraged us. [00:38:54] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:38:55] Speaker D: They're all so cool and so nice to us. It's just. It makes us want to keep going. [00:38:59] Speaker A: Yeah. There's none of this, oh, these guys are coming in and gonna take away from my right. [00:39:04] Speaker B: It feels like everybody gets it. Like, at least they almost like they've been there before. We got to see Russell a little bit before he played CMA Fest, and I think it was one of the best performances at CMA Fest. Crushed and. But nicest dude ever. But he doesn't. He never even thinks about like, how small the whole con. Just a comment on our post. Just at where we're at right now. Of like, dude, that's so huge for even us. Of like, oh, my God. Like, we're sending that to the whole damn team. Group chatting, being like, Russell Dickerson. Just comment. [00:39:35] Speaker C: We're. [00:39:36] Speaker B: We're gonna make it. It's like the next day. Like, dude, it's so sick. [00:39:40] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. And it's. And it's having those moments, but it's also. I mean, you can have buzz here in town, but it's so important to have folks that are outside of town believing. Having that fan in middle of nowhere Georgia or Ohio or Des Moines, Iowa, you know, like, whatever. It's so important to build that following because that's where the tickets are going to be sold. That's where your streams are coming from. Like, you could have the industry buzzing here, but Nashville's just a bubble, bro. [00:40:07] Speaker C: Right. Yeah. [00:40:08] Speaker A: It's the only point to get out there. [00:40:10] Speaker B: Yeah. For real. [00:40:11] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:40:12] Speaker C: And it's. Yeah, it's hard to play here. [00:40:13] Speaker B: It is. It's so. I didn't. I don't know. I don't know to go into that or not. No, you got. [00:40:18] Speaker A: You guys say whatever. [00:40:19] Speaker B: Yeah, it is. Yeah. Like, I get all this. Okay. But it is. It is. It does feel like it is really hard to play here and almost like it. I saw a really cool Zach Top clip talking about it. I think you sent it to me, but, like, kind of feeling like some Nashville people, like, overexpose themselves here. And, like, everybody's like, oh, we know this is here. And, like, they're the best here. And it's like. But it doesn't translate at all. [00:40:45] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:40:46] Speaker A: Now where it does, because it's. I feel like before, because we've. I've been doing events here in town since I think my first writers round I put on was September of 2019. Doing it for a minute now. And it's like, there's moments where it used to be you'd find folks because you saw them play one of my things or Whiskey Jam or Bus Call or Grindhouse or Nick's Rowdy on the road back in the day. And you would see, like, I remember when. I remember when that, like, the Trade crew all signed their publishing deals with Sony, and that was Trey Lewis, Ella Langley, Joy, Beth Taylor, Alex Maxwell, and Matt McKinney. And that was the week that Dick down in Dallas came out, and they all signed with Sony Pub the following week, you know, and that was an event. But now there's so much power in social media where, like, you have that Russell Dickerson moment where he's in that comment, he's like, boy, this is what it's all about. [00:41:35] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:41:35] Speaker A: And then you can get eyes on you in different ways. It doesn't have to be irl. What's. And we. We used to have Zach play our rounds back in the day. We were one of the lucky few events that he did play. But one of his big catalysts was his management that he's had for a while now. Caught him at a. On a Monday night at Winners playing Whiskey Jam, and that was where he got signed. So it's like, there's. There's power to that because you have acts that will blow up but don't [00:41:59] Speaker B: know how to play live, right? [00:42:01] Speaker A: And then they sign and then they get thrown on a tour. They still had to be up there. Now they can learn, you know? Yeah, there's guys that learn. And. And, like, I remember watching Bailey the first time and watching him do his first shows, and he figured it out, you know, but initially he didn't have those reps. You know, there's an important part to getting your reps, but I get also, too. You don't want to overexpose yourself. [00:42:23] Speaker B: Oh, we're still. I think. I almost think it's even better get. We're def. I'm still definitely getting my reps. Like, you're probably. And it's gonna say this, and it's [00:42:31] Speaker A: important, and it's important to. It's important to get that. But, like, for. For you guys, especially as a band, like, band reps are different than artist reps because artist reps are swapping out the hired gun drummer, bass player. [00:42:44] Speaker B: Right. [00:42:45] Speaker A: Or whatever. [00:42:46] Speaker C: Right. [00:42:46] Speaker B: Dude, our first. Our chemistry and everything. [00:42:47] Speaker C: Our first few shows sucked. We were just, like, terrible. [00:42:50] Speaker B: Oh, my God. [00:42:51] Speaker C: Looking back at it, it's like, thank God we weren't. [00:42:53] Speaker D: Well, it's just like when you're early and, you know, climbing that ladder, it's literally just like, all on us three. [00:42:59] Speaker B: We're running our sound. We're doing. [00:43:01] Speaker D: We're doing so many hats. We don't even fully know how our rack works, but every single day, we're [00:43:06] Speaker A: like, I think we can get it going. [00:43:07] Speaker D: Are you hearing something? [00:43:08] Speaker B: Yeah. Yeah, dude. We were. We were opening up for Jordan and. And weird. We were just. It was so funny that we were just going to, like, completely roll with it, I think, because we're. We just. In the past, we've just been like, whatever. [00:43:21] Speaker C: We'll just. [00:43:21] Speaker B: We'll do whatever. Like, everything will be fine. It'll work itself out. We. We look at our package. Everything is, like, plugged in to the wrong thing. But it's like reading. My vocal is like, we turn up Caleb's guitar, but that's turning up my vocal, like, and everything's in its opposite place. And we're like, no, we're just gonna roll with it. We'll figure it out. And finally, somebody stepped in and goes, guys, like, let us take five minutes to figure this out. But it was so hilarious, which we [00:43:46] Speaker D: weren't used to that. Like, Jordan has such a big, massive team. They're like, we can. Like, we know how to do it. [00:43:50] Speaker B: Yeah, we know how to do this, guys. Yeah. We were literally going like, okay, Caleb, guitar is my vocal. Like, we can turn that up, and everything will be fine. [00:44:01] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, yeah, it's. That's. That's what it's about. Also, we're in, like, a Kia, you know, like, hauling everywhere. No toy buses and stuff like that, so. [00:44:10] Speaker B: But it's fun. We're at a fun part, and we're just like, every. Everything's fun until the ride home. But even the ride home is fun too. But, like, getting there, everybody's so excited. Like, it's hilarious. [00:44:21] Speaker A: What's the longest run you guys have been on Baltimore? I mean, how many shows? Like, they pretty much been one offs at this. [00:44:28] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:44:28] Speaker C: Kind of weekend runs. Yeah. Two or three at a time. [00:44:31] Speaker D: Which I feel like is also another country music thing. [00:44:33] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:44:34] Speaker D: A lot of these artists, like. Like, they'll. They'll have fort. Like, they'll do, like, Friday, Saturday, Sunday, and then go home, back out the next weekend. [00:44:42] Speaker A: Call that being a weekend warrior. [00:44:43] Speaker B: Yeah, I like it. I like how it's set up that way. [00:44:46] Speaker C: Dude. I have a buddy in a rock band, and he's like, yeah, I'm out for, like, three months. I won't be home. I'm like, how do you do that [00:44:51] Speaker A: in the bigger country tours? You'll have that too. [00:44:53] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:44:53] Speaker A: Like, when you're doing the stadiums and all that, like, you're. You're gone. [00:44:57] Speaker C: But at that point, you just PJ home. [00:44:59] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:00] Speaker C: And go sleep in your bed home. [00:45:01] Speaker A: Or you're in your own bus. Like, it's a whole. It's a whole different ball game. But. But, yeah, it's just figuring. Figuring it out as you guys go. And you are at such a. [00:45:11] Speaker D: When we were opening for Lee Bryce, we were in New Jersey. [00:45:16] Speaker B: That's what I was gonna Say, and [00:45:17] Speaker A: then we're in Jersey. [00:45:18] Speaker D: We were. [00:45:19] Speaker B: Dude, it was sick. [00:45:20] Speaker D: It was a really cool town. [00:45:22] Speaker B: Brunswick, New Jersey, bro. [00:45:23] Speaker C: Right? Yeah. Yeah, that one. [00:45:26] Speaker B: Yeah, that little square is sick. [00:45:28] Speaker C: It's so sick. That was a great show. [00:45:29] Speaker A: I used to work the first. The radio station I worked at before I moved down here to Nashville, was that market shows at the state. [00:45:37] Speaker B: Did you go to the Mexican restaurant that's also like. Like some reason there's a DJ in there? [00:45:43] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:45:43] Speaker B: Oh, yeah, dude, that place. [00:45:44] Speaker A: That is the. The biggest college in the state of New Jersey. Rogers University. [00:45:48] Speaker D: Yes. That is the. [00:45:49] Speaker A: That is the party. [00:45:50] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:45:50] Speaker C: All those. [00:45:51] Speaker A: All those strip of bars that are down there. There's a million hospitals, a million frat houses. Very underrated party school. [00:45:58] Speaker D: It was freezing. [00:45:59] Speaker B: Oh, my goodness. [00:46:00] Speaker D: So it was during that cold front when Nashville got, like, shut down. It was during there. [00:46:04] Speaker A: Oh. [00:46:04] Speaker D: So we were supposed to come home and go back out for that weekend schedule like we were talking about, but we got stuck. All the flights got canceled, and so we just ended up taking a train because also we didn't want it. We finally found one flight, but we didn't want to go home and then not be able to get out to the next. [00:46:23] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:23] Speaker D: Shows that we had with Lee the next weekend. So we finally got a train to go to. [00:46:27] Speaker C: Where did we go to New York, I think. [00:46:30] Speaker B: No, we went to. No, it was Rhode Island. Yeah. Rhode Island. [00:46:33] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:46:34] Speaker A: Took an Amtrak and we were gone [00:46:36] Speaker D: two and a half weeks. Just because we got stuck because of the snow. [00:46:38] Speaker B: Yeah. Let me tell you the amount. The Amtrak is the way to. [00:46:42] Speaker C: Dude, if we could travel like that, that would. We wouldn't even tour us. [00:46:45] Speaker A: You guys see, they've been arguing about public transportation down here. That's what they're trying to build. [00:46:51] Speaker B: We need that. [00:46:52] Speaker A: You can take a train from Franklin. [00:46:54] Speaker C: That would be dope. [00:46:55] Speaker A: That's the world I come from. [00:46:56] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:46:56] Speaker D: Dude, it was really. That's pretty short. [00:46:58] Speaker B: That's crazy. That's. That's almost. That's a little too short for me. Well, I wouldn't get on that train. [00:47:03] Speaker D: Well, how long is that train ride? [00:47:04] Speaker B: I like, I'm saying for, like, instead of flying, let's just do Amtrak only. [00:47:09] Speaker A: Well, with Amtrak, the way that line would go, is it. Yeah, it would go directly from. So it would go from, like, Birmingham, Alabama, all the way up 65 through Indianapolis. Like, oh, Nashville and Franklin would be Cal. [00:47:23] Speaker B: Who might even get one at Bucky's. They'll put it at Bucky's. [00:47:26] Speaker D: That would actually be Cool. That would be because my mom comes and visit. Visits me sometimes. She's in Mississippi, like, real southern Mississippi. Yeah. But she gets on a train and I pick her up in Birmingham, Alabama, because that's where it stops. [00:47:38] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:47:39] Speaker D: Like, it would actually be pretty cool. [00:47:42] Speaker A: Northeast is. [00:47:43] Speaker D: Dude, it's either Birmingham or like Memphis. Like, if you want to take a train from Nashville, you have to either go to Birmingham. [00:47:48] Speaker B: Right. [00:47:49] Speaker D: It would be actually pretty cool. Yeah. [00:47:52] Speaker A: It's the taxpayer dollars. They're very expensive. That's why it costs so much to live in. Live in New York is. [00:47:57] Speaker C: We have. [00:47:58] Speaker B: How would they build that? [00:48:00] Speaker A: They talked about it. You can look it up. There was talk of it. I think it got shut down like a year or two ago. They were really talking about building a rail to cut down on. [00:48:08] Speaker B: We're gonna bring it back. What? [00:48:09] Speaker D: Those are dirty. [00:48:10] Speaker A: Oh, great. [00:48:11] Speaker B: I did one I've never done one [00:48:12] Speaker D: time and I thought I was going [00:48:13] Speaker A: up in the Northeast. We got one. Dirtier. We got one. It's called the Fung Hua bus. You take it. [00:48:19] Speaker B: That's like an Asian buffet place. [00:48:22] Speaker A: You take it. It's a double decker bus. You take it from Chinatown in New York City to Chinatown in Boston. It's five bucks to ride. [00:48:29] Speaker C: No way. That's. [00:48:30] Speaker A: I've never been on $5. [00:48:32] Speaker B: How. How far? [00:48:33] Speaker A: New York to Boston. [00:48:34] Speaker C: That's ridiculous. [00:48:36] Speaker A: I mean, that's probably a four hour ride. [00:48:38] Speaker C: So it's kind of just a gamble. You're just seeing if you're gonna die or not. [00:48:42] Speaker B: We took it one time. We got to look that up. We got off a plane for the New York show, and we are. None of our cards were working. None of our business cards were working. And so we couldn't rent a. Like a. We couldn't rent a van. So we had to uber from New York to, like, Connecticut. Yeah, we uber from New York airport to Connecticut because our cards wouldn't work to rent a car. [00:49:06] Speaker D: We didn't have anything to climb. [00:49:07] Speaker B: We didn't have enough money to rent a van. [00:49:09] Speaker D: So we're like, trying to figure out how to get. [00:49:10] Speaker B: And so we. We have a hotel right beside the theater that we're gonna play in Connecticut for Lee Bryce. And we. We just. We just show up, like, on foot. Like, we just walk up and we thought about it. [00:49:23] Speaker D: I actually think the amount of that the rental car would have costed us was the same as the Ubers that we took. Yeah. And we had like a driver. [00:49:30] Speaker B: Yeah, dude. We actually. Kind of private driver that changes shifts all the time. [00:49:35] Speaker A: That's awesome. [00:49:36] Speaker C: Hell, yeah. [00:49:37] Speaker A: Yeah. The Fung Hua bus got shut down. It got shut down permanently in 2015, so. [00:49:43] Speaker D: But it was like, that's too good of a deal. [00:49:45] Speaker A: Known for extreme affordability and convenience, but also notorious for mechanical fires or mechanical failures, safety violations, and occasional fires. The Fung Bus. [00:49:55] Speaker C: That sounds like a hibachi place in Hermitage. [00:49:58] Speaker A: Look at this. Look at this thing. The Fong Wa bus, bro. [00:50:01] Speaker B: Oh, man. It's red, white, and blue, though. That's pretty. That is kind of dope. [00:50:04] Speaker A: I like bus. Yeah, here's one. Crashed in New York City. [00:50:07] Speaker D: Oh, my goodness. [00:50:08] Speaker B: Dude. Buzz crash just scare me. Did you just hear about the Buck Cherry? Just had a saying. [00:50:13] Speaker C: They just buck cherries. Buck just. Bus just crashed. [00:50:17] Speaker A: And I'm on I 26 in South Carolina. [00:50:20] Speaker C: Killed somebody. Not on their bus, but. Yeah. [00:50:22] Speaker D: Dude, that skit. [00:50:23] Speaker C: Didn't Hardee's bus, like, flip? [00:50:24] Speaker A: Yeah, I was at that. I was. It's wild. You guys were talking about Country Thunder. We were at that. Was coming back from Country Thunder in Bristol, Tennessee. We were out there. We were out there for that one a few years ago. [00:50:34] Speaker B: It's crazy. That whole story is wild. Have you. Have y'. All. You've listened to that story? Yeah. [00:50:39] Speaker C: Crazy, man. [00:50:40] Speaker D: Dude, it's insane because. Well, so I used to, for money, just, like, wash those, like, artist tour buses for Hemphill Coach Company. Oh, that's my uncle. That's his company. So just for some money out of high school, I used to wash them all. But the stories from the drivers, man, are just insane. Well, I mean, think about it, dude. It's like your whole house just crashing. Microwaves. [00:51:00] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:51:00] Speaker D: Blender. Everything's going everywhere, dude. Yeah, it's insane. [00:51:03] Speaker A: Yeah, you're in a. You're in a bunk. And I've been lucky enough to be on to have toured in. In some buses and do the bandwagon thing, which. The bandwagon thing's a wild thing. [00:51:12] Speaker B: What is that? [00:51:13] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah, it's a freight line. [00:51:15] Speaker D: Ketucky, right? [00:51:15] Speaker A: It's. Yeah, they're. They have one in Kentucky now. They had them in Indiana. And I used to have to go up to Indiana, fly up to Indiana, drive it back, and then we'd take it out for a weekend. But it's essentially like a freightliner chassis, but it's got eight bunks in it, and then a shower, like hang lounger. [00:51:32] Speaker B: Oh, dude, I think that's a little [00:51:34] Speaker D: cheaper than, like, the full on tour. [00:51:36] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:51:37] Speaker A: Coming out of COVID they were very Affordable. And now they're. They're not much different than getting a bus. But the gas. [00:51:42] Speaker C: But you don't need a CDL for that, which is crazy. [00:51:44] Speaker B: You don't need a CD as a tour. [00:51:46] Speaker A: Well, they have a governor in it. [00:51:47] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:51:47] Speaker A: Cuts you off at 65. So that's why. So it takes a while to go. But as a tour manager, I used to have to drive those. I've driven those through the pass in Colorado. Like through like Breckinridge and all that shit, dude. [00:51:58] Speaker D: Oh my gosh. [00:51:59] Speaker A: I've driven those through dc. I've driven those through Chicago. [00:52:03] Speaker D: Doing that. [00:52:08] Speaker A: To go during that. Thank God. But. But they're. They're wild, man. But I. So how far away do we think we are from getting our first van? Because I feel like you boys in a van would be a wild time, dude. [00:52:18] Speaker C: Hopefully soon. [00:52:18] Speaker B: We're just in a rental Kia right now. We've been taking a Kia a lot of places. [00:52:21] Speaker A: A Kia, like suv? [00:52:23] Speaker D: Yeah, it's an suv. [00:52:24] Speaker C: Yeah. Four door, cuz. [00:52:25] Speaker B: It's kind of just. It's just us. [00:52:27] Speaker A: I mean it's just the three also. You don't even. You're not even like TM sound guy, dude. [00:52:31] Speaker C: What's sick is Chris doesn't drink either. So like after the show. [00:52:34] Speaker A: Built in dd, bro. [00:52:35] Speaker C: Built in dd. [00:52:37] Speaker D: Let's go. [00:52:38] Speaker B: But it does come. I feel terrible. [00:52:41] Speaker C: I feel so bad. [00:52:41] Speaker B: Like you almost abuse him. [00:52:43] Speaker D: Yeah, well, they take it during the day sometimes, Ned, mostly Caleb. They'll do the beforehand, like the beforehand all before the shows. They let me like not drive. [00:52:52] Speaker C: Yeah. [00:52:53] Speaker D: But then we always like to. You know, your adrenaline's going after the show. You don't. Most of the time we don't stay right next to like where we played or we try to knock out a few hours while we still have adrenaline. Like, because we wouldn't be able to sleep anyways. [00:53:06] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:53:07] Speaker D: So like those late night hours is when I drive. [00:53:10] Speaker A: Yeah, that's what I. That's me with our driving, like. Because with a lot of our touring this year with the festivals, we've been flying. A lot of them have been fly dates, which has been cool. But a lot of times it's my Tacoma pulling a. Pulling a U Haul trailer with all of our merch in it. And I'll drive to the festivals. Like we did one in Oklahoma last year. I drove all the way out to Stillwater, Oklahoma. And I just do the whole drive because I'm used to being the. The dd. Like I just. I think it goes Faster when I'm driving. Like when I'm driving. The trip goes faster in my head for me. [00:53:39] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah. [00:53:39] Speaker A: I'd rather be driving in the passenger seat. [00:53:41] Speaker D: Caleb and I had driven so much and this was like early on of us being a band. We were on a run and so we stayed right next to like the Colt stadium. [00:53:50] Speaker C: Oh yeah. [00:53:52] Speaker D: We were literally at that hotel. Right next. [00:53:54] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:53:54] Speaker D: Ned finally takes a shift the next morning. First turn down a one way road. [00:54:00] Speaker C: The wrong way, down a one way. I'm like, bro, the first turn. How do you screw it up? [00:54:05] Speaker A: That's a broke country. That's a bro country lyric. That down wrong way down a. Down a one way. I'm thinking like a bro right now. [00:54:14] Speaker B: I was just trying to get us to the gas station. I cut. I. I was finding a little shortcut. I didn't want to go all long turns. [00:54:20] Speaker A: You only make bad turns. [00:54:21] Speaker B: I just make faster turns. [00:54:23] Speaker D: Yeah, that was. It was so funny. [00:54:25] Speaker B: That was. It was embarrassing though, cuz it. I like pulled out of the hotel and didn't even realize. I turn and then I look at cars coming our way and I'm like, like, oh. [00:54:34] Speaker D: Like it wasn't the third turn. [00:54:36] Speaker B: It was the first shift. It was like. And then I immediately like just swing into a gas station. But we needed gas. [00:54:43] Speaker A: I just thought of something because you all are like the first like bro country dudes I've had on in a minute. What are some of your favorite bro country lyrics of all time? [00:54:50] Speaker C: Oh, my gosh, dude, that's so hard. [00:54:52] Speaker B: We have a song right now that. The first verse that's so cringe that I said our song immediately. I like it. [00:54:58] Speaker A: I love love bro country. And I love what we like to call buttock, which is Creed Nickelback. [00:55:04] Speaker C: That's the equivalent. [00:55:06] Speaker A: And I love bro country like I love Luke Bryan, Jason Albany, Brantley Gilbert, OG Thomas, Rhett. Like I love that you're Brantley. [00:55:14] Speaker B: I grew up on. [00:55:15] Speaker A: Thank you. [00:55:15] Speaker C: Dude, it was so good. [00:55:17] Speaker A: Tell me the lyrics. [00:55:18] Speaker B: Dude, it's. It's called gold mine. We hadn't even teased it or anything, but it's like, I think it's gold ripples in the water with the sun beating hotter with a little gold bobber going up, down. I don't know. We gotta look at it. Hold on, dude. But even just you say your favorite [00:55:37] Speaker C: country, I. Dude, it's every FGL lyric. [00:55:40] Speaker A: Oh my gosh. [00:55:42] Speaker B: Damn, baby. Damn, baby. Damn. [00:55:48] Speaker D: They're so good at. [00:55:49] Speaker C: It's just what we do. [00:55:50] Speaker B: What is the one where it's. [00:55:53] Speaker A: Yeah, baby. [00:55:54] Speaker D: Writing, like, painting a good scene, but also using words that are, like, catchy to hear. Yes, dude. [00:56:00] Speaker C: Yes. Sometimes, I mean, yes, lyric is so important, but just say what sounds cool. It's like, that sounds sick. [00:56:07] Speaker A: Using common vernacular. [00:56:09] Speaker C: Yes, exactly. [00:56:10] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:56:10] Speaker B: But that even goes back of, like, le Zeppelin, Arrows, Aerosmith, stuff like, dude, it didn't even really have, like. Yes. I'm not saying there's no story, but, like, a lot of their. It feels like they were like. Like, that sounded sick and, like, it sang well. Just do that. [00:56:25] Speaker C: I'm a big Kiss fan. And they get so many interviews. They're like, what's this song about? It's not about anything. Like, literally, if you read the verse, it doesn't make sense, but it just sounds dope. Yeah. [00:56:35] Speaker D: Yeah. But some people tell a story or make it sound cool. FGL somehow does both. Does both. Yeah. To where it's, like, still incredibly well written, but it sounds sick. [00:56:45] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [00:56:47] Speaker A: Nikki T, my business partner, we had a little bit going for a while where he was trying to get dudes to go. Like, when we were down in Key west, he was trying to get, like, young songwriter dudes to, like, as a pickup line with girls, just go up to a girl and go, baby, you a song. [00:57:00] Speaker C: Baby, you a song. [00:57:01] Speaker A: Baby, you a song, man. [00:57:03] Speaker C: Ain't that the truth, though. I bet it worked. [00:57:06] Speaker B: What if it works? Works 99 of the time, 65%. Whatever. [00:57:11] Speaker A: The anchorman Was it Sex Panther, Paul Ruddy. [00:57:15] Speaker D: Dude, if we sat down to write and one of y' all go have a title idea called Tattoos on this Town, I would go, oh, my gosh. Thank you for saying. [00:57:23] Speaker C: Yeah. So good. [00:57:24] Speaker D: Dude, that is so cool. [00:57:26] Speaker A: And it's. And I think it. It's so much of it is putting people into a. Like, bringing people into your world, dude. [00:57:32] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:57:32] Speaker A: And small towns are simple, man. Yeah, it's simple. And you like to have a good [00:57:36] Speaker C: time, and it's, like, getting into their world. [00:57:38] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:57:38] Speaker C: Like, I remember, like, in high school, I had, like, a 06 charger and I put my windows down and play FGL songs, and it's like they're singing about me. Like, this is it. [00:57:47] Speaker B: In my charge. [00:57:48] Speaker C: In my charger. [00:57:48] Speaker A: You're living it. [00:57:49] Speaker C: Yeah, I'm living it, man. [00:57:53] Speaker A: You're in a field tipping it back. [00:57:55] Speaker C: Yeah, exactly. Sitting on the hay bell. [00:57:58] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:57:58] Speaker A: I'm wondering what the Internet says are the top bro country lyrics of all time. Oh, that's a good question, because I kind of want to go through that as I'm typing. [00:58:06] Speaker B: All right. I know I don't have any service. I feel bad now that I couldn't remember the lyrics of my own song. But we've never. [00:58:11] Speaker A: We've. [00:58:11] Speaker B: We. I don't think we've seen. Sang it since we wrote it, so I don't feel bad. Yeah. [00:58:16] Speaker D: I mean, just sipping on fire is [00:58:18] Speaker C: even just such a cool dude. [00:58:19] Speaker B: Yeah. [00:58:20] Speaker A: Chase Rice. Ready, set, let's roll. [00:58:22] Speaker B: Oh, you might have won, baby. [00:58:25] Speaker A: Let that Southern water fall down your neck. Yeah. You know what I'm talking about. That's one that's listed. [00:58:32] Speaker B: What's Smooth? The FTL Smooth. It's like the finger. Yeah. The figure, like, out the window, like your fingers slinging jelly out the window or something like that. What is that one? I don't know. Good God almighty. [00:58:47] Speaker A: Girl, you go down good. [00:58:49] Speaker B: Yeah, that song. That sounds great. And like, the cricket, like, whatever, is like the frogs, like, croaking the whole time. Dude, that song rocks. [00:58:57] Speaker A: Yeah. The first time I met Wallen was at a place called Jenks Club in Point Pleasant, New Jersey. And I got to interview him backstage when I was doing college radio. And it was like, 2016 or 2017. He was wearing an FGL Smooth tour, basically. And I went on ebay, like, a year or two ago, and I have an FGL Smooth jersey. [00:59:15] Speaker D: Let's go. [00:59:15] Speaker A: Because we do a Bro country tribute night. Next time we do it. I'm definitely gonna have you boys there. We do it, dudes. [00:59:20] Speaker B: We'll just put. [00:59:21] Speaker C: Dude, that would be. We'll just do all Bro country covers. [00:59:24] Speaker A: And how it is is, like, we get. You know, we get an act to do, like, one or two songs. We have a house band up there, and it's like full band karaoke. [00:59:31] Speaker C: That is so it's like, we don't [00:59:32] Speaker D: even have to adjust our set. That's just. [00:59:33] Speaker C: Yeah, it's just. [00:59:35] Speaker A: You pick a song. [00:59:36] Speaker B: Yeah, we don't rehearsed for this. [00:59:38] Speaker A: Yeah, it's awesome. Let me see if I can find that flyer real quick. Because it was. It was the bro we were trying to get. [00:59:43] Speaker B: That's a good idea. We did it around. [00:59:45] Speaker A: Yeah. This was the. The night. It was Bro Bro country night. See, with the. With the beer. Country night. Then we made some memes with it, too. Like, Bro Country Night. Our forefathers. [00:59:56] Speaker C: Bro Bro. [00:59:56] Speaker A: That's so sick. [00:59:58] Speaker B: Yeah, we have it. [00:59:58] Speaker A: We. If you look up Bro Country Night on Instagram, we've got, like, a meme account going right now. [01:00:02] Speaker C: Oh, dude, follow us. [01:00:04] Speaker A: We do. We do it for Butt Rocks rock night too. Which we did a butt rock night where we teamed up with. With Chief and Simon. We did it for the Nickelback. [01:00:11] Speaker B: Oh, dude, we were there. Yeah. [01:00:13] Speaker C: At barstool. Yeah, we were there. That was night that was so the [01:00:17] Speaker A: full band tribute to all the Nickelbackers. [01:00:19] Speaker B: Nice. So many wings off that buffet that night. [01:00:21] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, they had the buffet shout out to BMG and Jonathan Bova taking care of the tab that night. We ate a lot of chicken wings and a lot of beer was consumed. [01:00:30] Speaker C: Nice. [01:00:31] Speaker A: So what do we have coming up for the rest of this year? I know you guys have been cranking out singles. [01:00:35] Speaker D: Yeah. So we're gonna keep on putting out just our game plan with like music coming out is just more. We're gonna be putting out a lot more music. We've written so much. Can't wait to get it out there. [01:00:44] Speaker C: Like a song a month. [01:00:46] Speaker B: We're shooting for a song a month. [01:00:47] Speaker A: So is that we're looking at. Is there a project at the end of the tunnel? [01:00:50] Speaker C: We'll see, man. We'll see what happens. And I mean, we have so much music right just back that we've been writing so much. So. So if the time feels right for like an EP or an album, we'll just do it. Just get in the studio and cut it, then keep. [01:01:02] Speaker D: And then keep putting out more music. [01:01:04] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:01:04] Speaker D: And then we got some more shows with Dustin Lynch. [01:01:06] Speaker C: Yeah. It's kind of our fall is with Dustin. [01:01:09] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:01:11] Speaker B: We got Mitchell coming up. We just met him at the Sony party. [01:01:17] Speaker A: He's a great. He's a great. [01:01:18] Speaker B: He's a cool dude. [01:01:19] Speaker A: Mitchell's great. [01:01:20] Speaker D: Yeah, he was awesome. [01:01:21] Speaker B: We're gonna write with him soon just [01:01:22] Speaker D: because we clean clicked with him because he's so cool. [01:01:24] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:01:24] Speaker A: Well, all these guys too, like, you're. You're the next wave of the era that they came up in and they've got to be excited about. [01:01:30] Speaker D: That's got to be wild to like see that. [01:01:32] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:01:33] Speaker A: I mean, that's like all the old heads, right. Was act top. You know, it's the same type of thing. Like they were waiting for that 90s style and even earlier to come back, and that's made its way back. And now you guys are that 2010s era making their way back. Those. Those kids have. Those guys that were in your shoes 10, 15 years ago have to be grinning right now, right? Yeah. Kids are drinking beer again. [01:01:56] Speaker C: Let's go. Dude, they're getting rowdy. They're back. We're so back. [01:02:01] Speaker B: That made me happy. [01:02:02] Speaker D: The next. [01:02:03] Speaker A: The next line in that. In that chain of that fun party country, which to me is what made help lead country music to where it's at now. You wouldn't have. You wouldn't have FGL if you didn't have Jayco. And you wouldn't have Morgan Wallen if you didn't have fgl. [01:02:15] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:02:16] Speaker A: You wouldn't have Deltona if you didn't have. If you had Morgan Wall. Like, you guys are on shame, bro. [01:02:22] Speaker B: I think J. Owen's, like, one of the most overrated. Not underrated. Underrated. No, we're breaking the record. My bad. Let me go viral. Yeah, we're trying to go viral here. [01:02:38] Speaker C: My bad. [01:02:39] Speaker B: Let me retake that, please. God. Cut that. You know what? [01:02:43] Speaker C: You know what? [01:02:44] Speaker A: J. Owen, I hate you. [01:02:46] Speaker B: No, dude, Jake Owen is the absolute underrated. [01:02:49] Speaker D: Yes. [01:02:49] Speaker B: Right? Am I saying that right? Yeah, Jaco And I'm slow. I literally called it Sundae. I think we're okay here. But, dude, the most underrated, bro. Especially this, like, this last album that he did. It's like the. I can't remember what it's called now. Now, like, really screw it up Now I'm Scared of Jacob. [01:03:07] Speaker A: I love that. That Barefoot Blue Jean Night era. [01:03:10] Speaker B: We're covering that right now in every set days of. Along with you. Yeah. Like, all of his stuff is so good, but I used to listen. [01:03:19] Speaker D: Is it Beaching [01:03:23] Speaker B: Hopeless is on this, like, newer album? Dude, it's so. This whole newer album is really good, but sorry, Jaco. [01:03:29] Speaker D: No, he is like, a massive fan. [01:03:31] Speaker C: That's so funny. [01:03:31] Speaker A: And, you know, it's. And no, it's crazy. Is that's the one of the first things that Chief worked on. [01:03:35] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:37] Speaker A: Him and Joey Moy came to town and produced. [01:03:39] Speaker D: It is crazy. [01:03:40] Speaker A: That was the start. [01:03:41] Speaker C: Joey Moy's kind of sound at that time, it's like fgl. Like, you hear so many things in Jake Owens I albums that, like, was fgl. [01:03:48] Speaker B: Dude. [01:03:48] Speaker C: It's so sick. [01:03:49] Speaker A: It went. It went Nickelback. [01:03:50] Speaker C: Nickelback and. Yeah. [01:03:52] Speaker A: Nickelback to Jake Owen to fgl. [01:03:53] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:03:54] Speaker A: Right now it's. To where it's at now with all the Wallen and. [01:03:56] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:03:57] Speaker A: Hardy and all that stuff, man. [01:03:58] Speaker B: Yeah. And their stuff just sounds so perfect. Like, just the drums and alone. Like, everything on all other stuff is insane that he can. That Joey can even make. Yeah. Those sounds. Yeah. [01:04:09] Speaker A: It's wild now. What's it been like for you guys? Getting in a studio and finding your [01:04:13] Speaker D: sound and getting to create it's been so great. It's been so much fun. We have a fantastic producer, Jason Massey. He's also, like, a really good writer. Like, we just wrote. Like, us. It's just us four get together. [01:04:24] Speaker A: That's it. [01:04:24] Speaker B: Right? [01:04:24] Speaker A: That's a cheat code. Having a guy that knows how to do and record sound, but also knows how to write. That's a huge advantage for you. [01:04:34] Speaker C: It's crazy how they, like, go together, too. Like, when we're. When we're recording the stuff, he's, like, kind of still writing. Like, he's got that writer brain, so it, like, plays into the recording, too. It's so sick. [01:04:45] Speaker B: He's the. He's the fourth member. Yeah, he is the fourth member. [01:04:48] Speaker D: So we write just us three. [01:04:50] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:04:50] Speaker D: But then we also write us three and Massey. But then we also, like, this is the. There's no other town that has better songwriters. So we also will, you know, Right. With. [01:04:58] Speaker C: We. [01:04:59] Speaker D: We've made so many good friends and stuff like that. But even sometimes it's fun, like, riding with Massey and somebody because, like, he truly is the fourth member. Like, we don't have to be so, like, no, we wouldn't do that. Massey will be like, nah, they would. No, we don't do that. Like, they wouldn't do that. You know, he gets it, what we're doing. To have, like, another person producing us that, like, gets what we're doing is cool. [01:05:18] Speaker A: And to have that so early on. Like, y' all are still in your infancy of where this Deltona thing's going, right? Y' all aren't even in daycare yet. [01:05:24] Speaker B: Yeah, exactly. [01:05:25] Speaker C: We're still in diverse. Pisses himself sometimes. [01:05:32] Speaker B: You made us wait too long. Can I pee real quick? [01:05:35] Speaker A: Go for it, go for it, go for it. [01:05:37] Speaker D: I cannot believe down. [01:05:38] Speaker B: Down the hall normally. I can't believe it either. Chris is, like, shaking right now. [01:05:43] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:05:43] Speaker B: I can't believe Chris is normally the person that pees. Really? [01:05:46] Speaker A: So. [01:05:47] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:05:47] Speaker A: Who are you pulling the Kia over for? For bathroom breaks? Most of the time, me. [01:05:50] Speaker D: But luckily, I don't have to be like, hey, I just. [01:05:52] Speaker B: But that comes with. [01:05:53] Speaker D: That's why I like driving. [01:05:54] Speaker C: Right. [01:05:54] Speaker B: But that's troll. Yeah. If he's driving a lot, it's like, dude, I'll stop whenever. I love stopping, too. Too. I love stopping. I have no. [01:06:00] Speaker D: I don't mind driving, though. Like, especially if you're on, like, road trips. Sometimes I feel like the time goes by. [01:06:07] Speaker B: I think I do better as the job in the passenger seat. Anyway. [01:06:10] Speaker A: He's a really good shotgun. [01:06:12] Speaker D: He's. [01:06:12] Speaker B: Yeah, we have a rule of like, somebody has to be awake. Like, somebody can. If you're in the back seat, you can go to sleep. [01:06:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:06:17] Speaker B: But if you're in the front seat, you have to stay awake with the person. So like they making sure they're awake. [01:06:23] Speaker A: Is it podcast? Is it conversation? Is it music? [01:06:27] Speaker B: Caleb doesn't love anything that takes up more than probably like eight minutes of his time. He. [01:06:31] Speaker A: Okay, so he's got short attention. [01:06:32] Speaker B: Right? Short. But so when he's asleep and the other night when he was hammered on his birthday and we had to do like a six hour drive to somewhere, me and Chris. Like, I was showing Chris's other podcast, Story Wars. Have you heard of that? No, bro. Dude, you. Do you watch like any comedy stuff? Yeah, like, dude, it's Big J Okerson and Louis Gomez. [01:06:51] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:06:52] Speaker B: Yeah, dude, they had the. [01:06:53] Speaker D: You should go through it like a handful of. Of fantastic comedians and they pull stories out of a hat and then they have to try to guess whose story. [01:07:03] Speaker A: So while so wild. Big J. Louis Gomez story. I. When I was working in radio, my boss at the time, his name was Seymour Chris Moore. And he was like my. I was on like the street team. Like the. The guys that would go out and the tents and for like pop up tent. [01:07:20] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:07:20] Speaker A: For like the radio. Like come over. Win a. Win a pin win of this spin the prize win. So. So he was a producer for a thing called the SDR show, which is the Sex, Drugs and rock and roll show, which is also a part of the Gas Digital Network. [01:07:31] Speaker B: Right. [01:07:31] Speaker A: So I got to go down to their studio a couple times and. And be there as like live viewing of the SDR show and got to hang out with Jay and all those guys. And the wild that I would see, bro, it was like a mixture of like. Because you'd have rock stars, you'd have comedians, and then you'd have porn stars. Like, you would see Wild Wild talking about Story wars and Big J. Oh yeah, all those guys. So I got to know. [01:07:58] Speaker B: I should have tested that. If he knew what we were talking about, if he remembered even podcast playing. [01:08:04] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:08:04] Speaker D: So we were just explaining to him what our shows are like. [01:08:07] Speaker B: Yeah, dude, that. That was amazing. [01:08:12] Speaker C: I love hilarious. [01:08:15] Speaker A: That's awesome. [01:08:15] Speaker B: Awesome. [01:08:15] Speaker A: But so when. When are we looking at the new. The new music coming out? [01:08:19] Speaker B: Dude, I think the next release. September something. [01:08:22] Speaker D: Yeah, in September. [01:08:23] Speaker B: Because we just dropped Point of. You go. Go listen Point of view, man. [01:08:26] Speaker A: That is one that I have had [01:08:28] Speaker B: on rotation we wrote that with Jason and Heath Warren, bro. Heath is also. [01:08:34] Speaker A: He's been on this podcast before. He's somebody too. Former drummer as well. I don't know if you know that about Heath. I didn't know he used to play drums for my buddy dollar Dawson Edwards, who. Who's now. Now he's been a. Was a songwriter, artist, and now tours with Travis Tritt as a stage tech. But Heath used to play drums for Dawson when he first moved to town. Forever. [01:08:57] Speaker B: Heath is a man. [01:08:59] Speaker D: He's a good one. Like, if we're exhausted after our run and our brains aren't working that well, he's so. He's such a great basis. [01:09:06] Speaker B: If you see his name in the calendar after doing. Doing four shows, you're like, oh, bro. [01:09:09] Speaker A: Yeah, that makes sense. The point of view, what Heath was on, dude. [01:09:13] Speaker B: No. And he's just like. He's more so amazing. He did the new to country thing, and I think that's why what. I think we went into that, right? Going like, just probably fanboying out over new. New to country. Because I think that was right around that time when it came out. [01:09:26] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:09:27] Speaker D: Underrated. See, I got it right. But that song was overrated song. Yeah. No, but we hear that, like, this is a smash. [01:09:33] Speaker B: Yeah, bro. [01:09:34] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. It's funny how that one didn't. I don't know. [01:09:37] Speaker B: I mean, new to country is literally like Bailey. Like, that is Bailey Zman. Like, that is. It's so good as you can get. [01:09:44] Speaker A: Yeah. And that song live. We've gotten to see Bailey a bunch over the years, like, playing festivals and stuff. And that song just hits. That's. I think that was the one. [01:09:51] Speaker B: That was the tour name. It's like, it's. It's all. Dude, it's sick. It's perfect. [01:09:55] Speaker D: Dude. Do y' all not remember when we first met Chief and we were talking about. So he said that about, like, the world needs another fgo, right? [01:10:02] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:10:03] Speaker D: And then he showed us what they were working on. It was that. And we're like, okay, we're in the right place. [01:10:07] Speaker B: I think. I think he showed us the music video too. Yeah. I think he had got the music video and showed it. [01:10:12] Speaker A: What a wild video. [01:10:13] Speaker C: So sick. [01:10:14] Speaker B: Wild video. [01:10:15] Speaker C: We need one of those. [01:10:16] Speaker B: A billion dollar budget. [01:10:18] Speaker D: And I just love it when people, like, go for it with their music videos. Do it and just, like, make a little. Because it's not as common anymore. [01:10:24] Speaker B: Dude. No. Music videos died. [01:10:26] Speaker A: Culture's going back to, like, like. And Nick is very excited about this so you guys met outside briefly, because Nick. Nick's in his 40s, so he was. He was around for, like, he used to go to Limp Bizkit concerts. He used to watch TRL on mtv. He used to watch MTV Spring Break. And it's like, culturally, we're going back to, like, 2004, 2005. [01:10:46] Speaker B: Right. [01:10:46] Speaker A: So I think music video is part of that chain that is coming back. And I think those real life experiences are so important to where shows are about to bloom again. But it's just us. Like, you talk about that, like, the music video trend and all that. Yeah, that's. That's a big thing. [01:11:00] Speaker B: You know, I hope it comes back. Even the. This whole podcast is about business room. But, like, he just did the whole Chevy Silverado music video. Like, that's good. And it's a great video. But, like, I. I do like, any. Like, anybody. That's like the Riley Green music video. I thought. I thought that was pretty good. [01:11:16] Speaker D: Like, we were just watching Tom's out Swing back. [01:11:21] Speaker B: Oh, dude. Swing video is wild. [01:11:25] Speaker C: Dude. [01:11:27] Speaker B: Go. Have you seen that music video? [01:11:28] Speaker A: Yes. [01:11:29] Speaker B: God, it's so funny. [01:11:31] Speaker A: We had. [01:11:32] Speaker B: It's amazing. [01:11:32] Speaker A: Honky Tonk Badonkadonk was covered in Bro Country Night. The first one we did, we had our friend Evan Coyote, who's a young, young girl that plays down on Broadway, and she covered Honky Tonka. [01:11:44] Speaker B: What about Brown Chicken Brown Cat [01:11:47] Speaker A: video with, like, the Muppets. [01:11:51] Speaker B: We were just showing Chris that on in the van. [01:11:53] Speaker A: 2000 and tens. Trace Atkins. [01:11:55] Speaker C: Come on. [01:11:56] Speaker D: So good. [01:11:56] Speaker C: Beast. [01:11:57] Speaker B: Chase Atkins is the man, dude. [01:11:58] Speaker A: And what was the. There was another song that he had about one Hot Mama. [01:12:02] Speaker C: Oh, yeah, I remember that, Mom. [01:12:06] Speaker A: You ever see that video? [01:12:07] Speaker D: Dude, just. [01:12:08] Speaker B: I've never seen that getting away with anything. Yeah. [01:12:10] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. I mean, that's. And that's the thing. I feel like we're swinging back to that, having fun. And. And I know Luke Bryan's getting, like, crucified right now. [01:12:19] Speaker B: He is getting crucified. [01:12:20] Speaker A: And Nick. Nick did a video on that, talking about, like, Luke Bryan's not making songs for. He's making songs for Luke Bryan fans. And, like, we know what Luke Bryan is like. He's making songs for Rhonda, who's chilling on her. Chilling on her husband's boat, drinking Surfsides. Yeah, that's what. And it's like those fun songs, man. [01:12:40] Speaker C: Yeah. [01:12:41] Speaker A: They're so important. Important to the ecosystem. And I'm so glad you boys are doing fun songs like that. [01:12:47] Speaker D: Yeah. [01:12:47] Speaker C: And our kind of. I Mean, we weren't chasing, like, what we thought would work. That's just what we love. Yeah. So it's like, it's cool that it feels like it's coming back right now, but we'd be doing it either way. [01:12:57] Speaker D: Right. [01:12:58] Speaker C: It's just what we do. [01:13:00] Speaker D: Honestly, way to consistently be writing music, be able to put out a lot of music, is because if we were chasing something that'd be harder to be like, oh, what would this. This sound like? This is just what we like. So it's easy to write it. [01:13:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [01:13:13] Speaker D: You know what I mean? [01:13:13] Speaker C: Yeah. 100. Yeah. [01:13:15] Speaker A: Authenticity is important, whether it's writing a. A serious story storyteller song or it's writing a fun banger. [01:13:21] Speaker B: Right. Yeah. [01:13:22] Speaker A: Authenticity is authenticity. Your authenticity is going to be different than other guys. [01:13:26] Speaker C: And it's like, we're not. We're not sad dudes. We go to the Rusty Nail and rip it up and have fun. [01:13:32] Speaker A: Sometimes I can't wait for the Rusty Nail to make its way into a one. [01:13:35] Speaker C: Oh, dude, that's a good idea. [01:13:37] Speaker B: I got tetanus from the Rusty now. [01:13:40] Speaker A: Have you bought one of the tetanus shots there? [01:13:41] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [01:13:42] Speaker C: We have those all the time. Tommy gets us. [01:13:45] Speaker D: No, I've never been to the. [01:13:46] Speaker C: He's never been. [01:13:47] Speaker A: We're going to change that. [01:13:48] Speaker C: I think Chris wouldn't love it. [01:13:53] Speaker A: We do it every year. We do karaoke all night. We just ask everybody, bring a toy for the children, place to bring them to. Let's go the next day. But yeah, they're a lot of fun. They do jello shots. Are they still $2? [01:14:03] Speaker C: Yep. Yeah. [01:14:04] Speaker B: I don't know if they're $2. I have no clue. [01:14:06] Speaker A: I can't remember last time I was in there. [01:14:07] Speaker D: They were. [01:14:07] Speaker A: They were. They were $2 and they're, like, in these, like. Like syringes. [01:14:11] Speaker B: Yeah. We had the strings. They let us take them home. I think we did a dozen ones. We did so many dollars. [01:14:16] Speaker A: Or it's like three for five. They're like homemade jello shots that you buy. [01:14:20] Speaker C: Who knows what's in that? [01:14:21] Speaker B: Man, we'll do it. [01:14:23] Speaker A: Who's making it? Well, I know Patty was there for a while. She's not there anymore. [01:14:26] Speaker B: I wonder if that's who we met. [01:14:28] Speaker C: Does Patty have, like, different color names there? [01:14:30] Speaker A: No. Patty. Patty's no longer at the. Okay for a long time, but. [01:14:34] Speaker B: Shout out Patty. [01:14:35] Speaker A: Shout out Patty. Shout out Tommy. [01:14:36] Speaker B: Shout out, shout out to rusty institution [01:14:39] Speaker A: known as the Rest. [01:14:39] Speaker B: Yeah. [01:14:40] Speaker C: Yeah. If you're ever in Nashville and want to find Deltona. We'll be the rest. [01:14:43] Speaker B: We'll be the Rusty Nail or Dave and Busters. [01:14:45] Speaker A: That's where you all should do a random pop up. [01:14:47] Speaker B: Oh, yeah. [01:14:49] Speaker C: Passed up at the Nail. [01:14:51] Speaker B: Dude, I thought you were gonna say Dave Busters. I was hoping he was gonna say David. [01:14:55] Speaker A: David Busters is fun. I told my girlfriend's little. Little girl over there. [01:14:58] Speaker C: There you go. [01:14:59] Speaker A: I was put in charge. I had a mat in Charlotte, dad, to watch her while she. While my girl was at work. And we took. I took her to Dave and Busters. It was awesome. Filled up. Filled up my truck with these giant. She wanted to do the. The human. The human. [01:15:11] Speaker B: I've seen that. [01:15:12] Speaker A: We had these giant ass blow up things. I had to stuff them in the back seat of my truck. [01:15:16] Speaker B: Now, that one's definitely more of a kid thing. I think I would draw the line, and I'd feel embarrassed if I was the one on the claw going down. I let the. I let the kids have that one. I'm more of the ball driver. [01:15:25] Speaker C: Dude, one time we were talking about best steaks in Nashville. You're like, oh, what's the best steak? Ned's like, dude, you gotta go to Dave and Busters. They got the best. Says a lot about who he is. [01:15:38] Speaker B: Ribeye Dave and Busters, slaps. All right, well, that's. Let's end it. Is that it? [01:15:54] Speaker C: Did we break the record? Did we break the Surfside? [01:15:56] Speaker B: I don't know if we did. [01:15:57] Speaker C: You didn't do four. I got four. So seven total. [01:15:59] Speaker B: Three. [01:16:00] Speaker A: And when you guys. When you guys come to Odies and play, we stock the frigid Odies with cases of Surfside. [01:16:07] Speaker B: So there we go. More Surfside. [01:16:09] Speaker A: Drink, drink. Surfside while there. And bottles of water, too. I drink. [01:16:12] Speaker B: Well, dude, bro, thank you so much for having us. [01:16:15] Speaker A: I can't wait. Do we know what song's coming next? [01:16:18] Speaker B: I. I think say no More. I'm pretty sure it's called say no More. And it's basically like. [01:16:22] Speaker D: Heard it first here. [01:16:23] Speaker B: Yeah, yeah, yeah. [01:16:25] Speaker D: It's just about partying. [01:16:26] Speaker B: Partying. [01:16:26] Speaker C: It's about partying. [01:16:27] Speaker B: You can't say no to partying. [01:16:29] Speaker A: All right, well, we'll have to take a listen to it after.
