Well, today, a round two episode with one of my favorite homies in the country. Music, Americana, Western music, whatever you want to call it, world. My boy, Mr. Tyler Halverson Tyler, we had him on back during the Covid days. Uh, we did an episode in his garage a while back in East Nashville. And since then he's been all over the place and his career has taken off and he's got a lot of cool things going on, doing very well in the Western scene out there in Texas, the Dakotas, all that good stuff. Speaker 1 00:01:02 And, uh, we finally got to talk to him. We finally made it back in town. So awesome conversation coming up. Gotta give a shout out to the sponsors. We got a new sponsor, y'all our boy Mike Allen, the M r l Music Group. They're Adam, Nebraska, but the air booking venues all over the country. Hit them up for all your recording production needs out there in Mount Juliet, Grady, and the boys. They get it done. Well, we're gonna get into it now, a conversation round two with my boy Tyler Halverson. This is the in the Round podcast. Speaker 1 00:02:13 Sweet Ice Coffee kind of guy, huh? Speaker 2 00:02:16 Today I was, I guess, Speaker 1 00:02:18 Where'd you get it from? Speaker 2 00:02:19 Star Bagel. Speaker 1 00:02:21 Star Bagel. Where's that? Is that some East Nashville stuff or is that over? No, Speaker 2 00:02:24 Silver in Sylvan. Over Speaker 1 00:02:25 In Sylvan? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. All right. So you miss being in East Nashville? Speaker 2 00:02:28 Yeah, I liked it a lot, but it's just so damn far away from everything. Speaker 1 00:02:32 Yeah, that's how I feel. Cause I'm, I mean, I'm in Hermitage, so it's like, kind of, it's like a little far away, but yeah. Speaker 2 00:02:37 Well, Hermitage, you're intentionally far away. Speaker 1 00:02:39 Oh yeah, I do. And I do like too Speaker 2 00:02:40 Best though. You still think that you're kind of like within reach, but you're not, it's a whole nother, like Uber's a more expensive to everything. You gotta get too done real. Speaker 1 00:02:47 It's the most expensive Uber your drunk ass had to pay going from Midtown back home. Oh Speaker 2 00:02:51 Shit. Oh hell. I don't even know. I bet, I bet it's like 70 bucks. I think it's like my highest 70 Speaker 1 00:02:56 Bucks Speaker 2 00:02:56 To go to shit. Like when it's like when there ain't nobody out. I know last weekend when we were like going back from Lubbock, this place I was staying from Blue Light or whatever, my drunk gas decided to take an Uber at like three and it was like $75. I woke up the next day and I was like, what in the fuck <laugh>? I mean, that's like a whole tank of gas. Yeah. In a fucking van, you know? Yeah. I was upset. Speaker 1 00:03:17 Yeah. That is crazy. Um, so how you've been out in Texas now for how long has it been over a month yet? Two months? Speaker 2 00:03:23 Uh, yeah, I've been 2, 2, 3 months. I'm not sure. Speaker 1 00:03:26 And where in Texas are you staying at now? Speaker 2 00:03:27 Uh, Turkey, Texas. Where's that? It's in between Lubbock Can Amarillo. Speaker 1 00:03:31 Okay. Speaker 2 00:03:32 So absolutely nowhere. Speaker 1 00:03:33 So you're, you're, but you're two spots that you're like gigging at out Speaker 2 00:03:36 There? Yeah. Yeah. So it's right between then. I'm like a couple hours from Fort Worth, so I can get down there too. And yeah. Speaker 1 00:03:42 How wild is Lubbock, Texas? Speaker 2 00:03:44 It's pretty fun Speaker 1 00:03:45 Because I've, I, I've heard from all of our, all of our Texas buddies, like when I ask 'em, Hey, what's the best spot in Texas to play? And they, everybody says Lubbock, but Lubbock just has this energy cuz I guess there's nothing else to do. Speaker 2 00:03:57 I don't, yeah. I don't know. Speaker 1 00:03:58 Can get wild. Speaker 2 00:03:59 Yeah, just go down, go down and hang out. But like with tech there, I think that helps things a lot too, you know? Yeah. Just keeps everything crazy. I don't know. Speaker 1 00:04:07 Yeah. Cuz it's just fun. And then Lubbock's what? Central West? Speaker 2 00:04:11 It's like right in the bottom of the panhandle, Texas. The bottom. Texas. Speaker 1 00:04:13 Okay. Yeah. So it's still, yeah, it's really fucking out there and shit. It's out there. Yeah. And then had you been playing out there before you moved? Like why did that be in near Lubbock? Factor in where you ended up? Speaker 2 00:04:24 No, I don't. Um, like getting to Turkey, I played there a couple times like this last year at the hotel they have there. And I just like camping out and hiding out for a while. My phone don't work and nothing. It's pretty slow. Speaker 1 00:04:36 That's why it's so hard to get a fucking hold of you. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:04:38 Dude. <laugh>, if if you try you have to FaceTime audio me. Really? If I have wifi I'll answer Speaker 1 00:04:45 <laugh> because I was, I, we were actually, when we were out in South Dakota mm-hmm. <affirmative>, um, a few months back, um, I was like, I got a, I'm dri I'm literally driving through. Yeah. This like, what you talk, what you've talked about Uhhuh <affirmative> and like, as they did or, um, and, and other songs where I'm like, this is literally where Tyler grew. I'm trying to climb like, this motherfucker won't answer <laugh>. No, dude, Speaker 2 00:05:05 It's, I don't know. It's the best and worst problem, honestly. Like not having Speaker 1 00:05:09 You have roommates? Speaker 2 00:05:10 No. Speaker 1 00:05:11 Do you have a dog or like anything? Speaker 2 00:05:12 No, no. I got a guitar <laugh>. I got a guitar. No wifi. It's great. Speaker 1 00:05:16 Is it like, is it like an apartment or like a house or? No, Speaker 2 00:05:18 It's just like a little two bedroom house and yeah, it was kind of nice. No shit. I got a, I got a guest room. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:05:23 Have you, have you had friends from here in Nashville go out there and like ride or do anything like that? Not, Speaker 2 00:05:28 Not, not yet. Gabe Lee and Zoe Cummins were out there a couple weeks ago and I wasn't home so I was kind of pissed about that. Yeah. But now I'm trying to get some people talked into going out there and write, Speaker 1 00:05:36 Because that sounds like, especially for the style of music that you do. Yeah. It is as authentic as it gets. Like when you hear a Tyler Halverson song, it's, it's a fucking Tyler Halverson song. Yeah. Like you write about the shit and the world around you and like, you write from like more of a, more of a deeper like honest place. So to be in that kind of environment, oh dude, it's Speaker 2 00:05:55 Inspiring as hell. Yeah. Yeah. It's cool. You can just kind of like sink yourself in it and Yeah. You're in it, it's cool. Speaker 1 00:06:01 Do you do the Zoom thing to keep in, to keep writing with people here in Nashville? Or can you not even do that in the middle? In in Turkey taxes? Speaker 2 00:06:08 I could, I gotta get the wifis first, but, uh, no, I, I don't know. I was thinking about trying that. I've never done the whole Zoom thing. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:06:15 Cuz during the pandemic you were here, right? Yeah. And you were able to still write. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:06:20 There. Yeah. Like during the pandemic, I feel like, like there was like a good like core 4, 5, 6 of us that were all like, I don't know, I feel like that's when our crew really started writing hard was like in that little time. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:06:30 And that's around, Speaker 2 00:06:30 That's all we had to do. Like Speaker 1 00:06:31 Yeah. And that's around the time that I started, we started becoming boys. Uhhuh <affirmative> was during the Pandemic. Which one? That pretty much met everybody that I hang out with nowadays. Yeah. I met them during Covid. Yeah. But we weren't supposed to be hanging out <laugh> and um, Speaker 2 00:06:44 What else are we gonna do? Shit, Speaker 1 00:06:46 Dude. Absolutely. And it's, and it's great to have you back here for a second episode because a lot's happened since that first one for both of us. Yeah, absolutely. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> for both of us at that time. I'm trying to remember what the hell I was. I mean, we were still doing the rounds. Covid was kind of starting to phase out. Yeah. I mean obviously we're in a different place today, but, um, but yeah, we recorded it at your old spot in East Nashville in the garage. In the garage, which that garage man. And I think I came by there another night. Yeah. Cause I had, I want, I bought my, um, my, uh, ti my, my Tyler Warner Merch <laugh> and my, my, um, Western Amer marriage Iana music. That's right. Um, but that garage for you, like you said, you wrote a lot of songs in there, like mm-hmm. <affirmative>. How long were you in that spot? Speaker 2 00:07:31 We were there probably a little over a year. I, I was, those guys are still in it right now, but I think I was there for like a year and a half. What Speaker 1 00:07:37 Songs did you write in that garage? Any any that I've overplayed on the SoundCloud link. I don't know. Speaker 2 00:07:42 <laugh> like, okay. I think it's funny, I feel like a lot of the songs were like, wrote in different spots of the house. Like we'd like start in the living room and then we'd migrate to the porch and then we'd go out to the garage and like, we'd have like a new spot in the house for each part of the song. It was weird. Speaker 1 00:07:56 That is, that is a little potted. Speaker 2 00:07:57 But it, but it, but it worked. It was fun. Speaker 1 00:07:59 Yeah. Because like, Speaker 2 00:08:00 There's a lot of times where like me and Colin Nash would start something and then we'd wind up outside then in the garage. Or like, I know, like me Ben, Megan Harper and Colin all had this. Like we were writing one just, we were all over in the damn house. It was funny as hell. But Yeah. Speaker 1 00:08:12 That is funny. Do you, do you miss hanging out with those guys on a regular basis? Oh Speaker 2 00:08:16 Yeah. Yeah. But everybody's so damn busy now doing their own thing. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:08:19 Isn't it wild to kind of see, cuz I see it with like, like my core group of like friends where everybody's super fucking busy right now. Yeah. And it's like, to think back to when everybody was a was free, which was awesome. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. But the reason we were free is cuz we didn't have as much going on. Speaker 2 00:08:35 No, exactly. So now you have to like, plan around or a show just to see your damn friend <laugh>. Yeah. I feel like that's like the best way. Like you can nail down someone gonna be somewhere like, I wanna see you wanna play around sometime. Like Yeah. Speaker 1 00:08:46 Yeah. How does it feel to kind of see the whole team winning right now? Speaker 2 00:08:49 Dude, it feels awesome. It's awesome. I think everyone's just kind of keeping, making sure everybody's keeping up and it's, it's like, it's just cool watching everybody do it. Speaker 1 00:08:58 Yeah. And well it was cool last night we had you at our, at our round, which thank you for doing that. I know it was for having me. I know it was, I know it was, it was ki it was last minute and I was like, oh fuck. Tyler's gonna be in town. Speaker 2 00:09:08 That's how we, that's how we do a lot of things last minute. It's fun Speaker 1 00:09:11 <laugh>. Yeah, no, it, it is, it is for sure. And um, my, one of my favorite parts about watching you fucking play rounds and it's like I've, we've had a couple people bring a harmonica in, um, over the last like in rounds before, but when you just get going on that man and last night and you're like, this is a trashy little tune about a guy whose car don't car sometimes starts and likes to sling drugs or whatever, <laugh>. And you went into that, I was like, fuck Yeah. Speaker 2 00:09:36 The the second generation drug dealer whose car that sometimes starts there Speaker 1 00:09:39 It is. There it is. Yeah. Yeah, yeah. Um, but, um, what's it for for you? Um, that stuff was good by the way. Hey, Western of marriage, Andana music. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. I can understand why you bounce around the house when you're writing if exactly. Do <laugh>, why the patio in the garage are essential. Speaker 2 00:09:55 Different energies. Speaker 1 00:09:56 Different energies. Different energies. For sure. Um, so since we've, since we first had you on, you've put out quite a few songs off of that, that that project that you had recorded. Yeah. You recorded that before Covid or during Covid? Kinda Speaker 2 00:10:09 Like right in the, yeah, right in the middle of it almost. It felt like, I think that's when Gary and Ryan reached out and we started that. So Yeah. No, we're, and we're still putting some tunes out from that. Like we have the 10 lined up, ready to go. Um, like the next one's be May five, um, me and Kylie Fryer putting out your bar now and then we're trying to put Oh, hell Speaker 1 00:10:28 Yeah. The stuff Speaker 2 00:10:28 After that. Yeah. Hell yeah. So I'm excited. Yeah. And then we got the beer garden baby video tonight too. Speaker 1 00:10:34 Yeah. With, where'd you shoot that? Speaker 2 00:10:36 Me and Wales shot that in, uh, Palestine, Texas. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:10:41 Did you just hit somebody up and be like, Hey, I have this song. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:10:44 He, he was at, uh, Colby Cooper concert and um, met Connor Reagan out there, um, and his family runs United Pro Rodeo, so they're just stock contractors and um, they were just having a practice pen and we kind of just made a party out of it and dude, it was a blast. Hell yeah. It was a blast. Speaker 1 00:11:00 <laugh>. Yeah. Yeah. And I, cause I was wondering if you went back to South Dakota or if you did that in Texas. Speaker 2 00:11:05 Yeah, that was all in Texas. Speaker 1 00:11:07 No shit. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> because I'm, I'm, look, I haven't seen the video yet. I'm really looking forward to watching it cuz that song's been been something that we've been bumping here for a while. Yeah. And I know that's, that's the song that you, you got to hear on Texas Radio, right? Yeah. That Speaker 2 00:11:20 Was, yeah. Yeah, I put that on. That was the first one that came out in the whole project. So it's kind of cool watching it, like right now, almost kind of have like a second round of wind, you know? I don't know, it's kind of cool. But yeah, that was the second one and then I don't know what, how many more we got. We got, yeah. Just this one coming outta May and then five more after that. So. Speaker 1 00:11:41 And does it feel, aren't you like kind of really wanting to put out and use, put out the songs that you're writing now? Does that, is that lag kind of weird? Cause that's a damn problem. I hear that from a lot of artists that they're like, it's great that we're putting out these songs, but I, I want people to hear the shit that I'm writing Speaker 2 00:11:58 Right now. Yeah. Now. Or Speaker 1 00:11:59 That you've written since then. Cause you wrote those songs before Covid. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:12:02 Some of 'em. Yeah. I've had some of those for four or five years. Yeah. So like, and I think that as I did songs probably like four or five, yeah. Four years ago. Really? Speaker 1 00:12:09 Probably. That's one of my fucking favorites. Like I've, I've Thank you. It it reminds me, it feels like a song that should be in like the TV show Westworld, you know, like, like especially with I guess that the piano playing or something. Uhhuh <affirmative>. Yeah. Like it just has that kind of feel the word. It could literally be in a scene. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> of that fucking show. Yeah. I'll take that. Which is which, who did you write? Was that a, was that a solo? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:12:29 Yeah. Wrote that. I don't know. I feel like I worked on that song for a while. That was probably like, that one like took me a damn year to write. Just like you'd be, you'd you'd find something. I think I was running around South Dakota, Wyoming at that time. Like, I just graduated from Belmont and I was working on that thing for like six months. Just little sparks of, Speaker 1 00:12:45 Because it had, cuz it had to be, had to be right. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:12:49 Yeah, yeah. You had to, yeah. You couldn't fake it. That's, I don't know, when you're painting that kind of stuff. It has to be pretty honest, I feel like. Speaker 1 00:12:55 Yeah. Yeah. Um, what's it been like being out and, um, in Texas as far as like seeing, be getting involved in the Texas scene? Yeah. Because like I saw you got a shout out from one of the big boys out there Yeah. On Twitter. Um, Parker McCollum. Yeah. He's Speaker 2 00:13:12 Been, he's been digging some music and Speaker 1 00:13:14 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:13:15 Spreading the news. Speaker 1 00:13:16 Yeah. And then last night, like, even, even hang even like guy, a guy like Palmer Anthony who's coming up in the scene mm-hmm. <affirmative> and, and seeing some, seeing some other, other folks like the, the Dylan Wheelers. The Colby Coopers. Yeah. Like the Pacus and Texas is interesting because you've got the rock, the, the fuck you were from Texas Rock stuff, the CO and Colby and Pacus and those guys are doing, then you've got your very traditional stuff like what a Winn Williams or Tristan Marez and Randall King are doing and Kojo. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And then you've got, you're kind of like in the middle. Where do you think you've fall in that? Or do you not even like to look at it that way? I Speaker 2 00:13:48 Don't know. I don't know where I fit in. No idea. I'm trying to figure that out. I think it's, I think it's down there somewhere, like in between all that. I'm not sure, but yeah. Yeah. There's like, there's three lanes it seems like, and Yeah, I'm trying to figure out which one, but, Speaker 1 00:14:03 But I don't even think you need to, you need to. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:14:05 Next thing too. I think it kind of fucks you up when you start thinking of it like that too. Yeah. Like where it go. Because I always fight with like, is it America as a country? Is it, what is, what is it? Is Speaker 1 00:14:15 It folk? Like, because you've got the mandolin in on the, on those records a lot and the do bro and stuff like that. Speaker 2 00:14:20 I don't know. I don't know what the hell it is. Speaker 1 00:14:23 Just, just Western America. Speaker 2 00:14:25 Some people like it, it's like, Speaker 1 00:14:26 It's like when, it's like when people ask Gary and Charlie, what is Musan blowing? They say, they say Red Clay Country. Yeah. Red Clay. Gary's is western marijuana. Speaker 2 00:14:33 This is western of marijuana music. I don't know. You like it or you don't? Speaker 1 00:14:36 Yeah. Um, looks like there, there's a lot of buzz from quite a few guys outta South Dakota. Like out of that South Dakota, Montana, like region right now. I mean yourself. Um, Ian Munk. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And then there's, there's Ryan, Charles Guy, I dunno know if you're familiar with him or not. Yeah. That new boot goof. He's just got the swag and Ian's got that too. And, and you sitting right here in the, in the Pearl snap with, with the glasses and the, and the Rapid City South Dakota, which we gotta talk about. Rapid City. We went to that stock show <laugh>. It was a time. Uh, I love Rapid City. It, it's a good, it's a, it's a good time. But, um, all you guys kind of have rep this like western retro flair kind of thing. Speaker 2 00:15:14 Well I think, I think that's just where we're from. Is that just what you gotta dive into? Is Speaker 1 00:15:18 That just the, the culture out there like dressing wise where it's, Speaker 2 00:15:21 I think so. I don't know. I feel like I, this is all I ever saw. My uncles are like, you know, people in my family wear was just this. Yeah. This is it. It's as fancy as it gets <laugh>. I don't know. Speaker 1 00:15:33 Yeah. Cuz Yeah, cuz like, I'm, I'm saying like, it's cool to see you guys really repping the flag of hey, we're from this. Speaker 2 00:15:41 Yeah. Well I feel like people do that. Like, just like to today, I mean like in town, if you're from Georgia or Alabama, people know it, you know that sweet Speaker 1 00:15:47 Boy. Yeah. <laugh>. Speaker 2 00:15:48 Exactly. It's great. I mean, just be proud of where you're at. Or Texas. Speaker 1 00:15:51 I mean that's Texas. That's like me with my damn Yankee. Exactly. Do I care? I carry that New York flag. Speaker 2 00:15:55 You can don't, yeah. You're, yeah. You, I don't know where you're from is just wrap the hell out of I think it's important. That's what, that's what you're true to. And stay true too. And Yeah. Speaker 1 00:16:04 Yeah. Um, so we did the Black Hill Stock Show. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> beginning of the year. And we had never been, none of us said, I mean, we've been to Sioux Falls, but you go from there to the other side. I didn't realize how different, dude, it's Speaker 2 00:16:18 A whole different Yeah. And the people are different as hell too. They are, yeah. Polar opposites on one end, one end. So like everyone's in a hurry the other end. No one cares about anything. It's just like slow. Speaker 1 00:16:28 And which side are you from again? Speaker 2 00:16:29 I'm from the east side. East River? Mm-hmm. Speaker 1 00:16:32 <affirmative>. So you're from just Speaker 2 00:16:33 South of Sioux Falls. Speaker 1 00:16:34 So Speaker 2 00:16:35 It's in a hu Everyone's in a hurry. Speaker 1 00:16:36 <laugh>, everyone. Yeah. I get, I mean around Speaker 2 00:16:38 Sioux Falls especially, but I still pretty slow and Canton. And Speaker 1 00:16:41 It's funny cuz it's, it's like me being from New York, I'm like, when I was in Sioux Falls I'm like, damn, this is moving slow. Yeah. <laugh>. But it's just so much faster compared to out West by like Deadwood and stuff. I Speaker 2 00:16:51 Come here and I'm like, this place is fast as hell. I gotta get out. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:16:56 Go, go live in there. Go Speaker 2 00:16:57 Go back to Turkey. This ain't Turkey no more say Speaker 1 00:16:59 Turkey no more. Um, but, um, but yeah. So Speaker 2 00:17:04 Rapid. Speaker 1 00:17:05 Rapid. Yeah. What's what what are some of your favorite things out there? We went and saw Mount Rushmore, which I know was like the ultimate. Yeah. We're not from South Dakota, but we're in South Dakota. Let's go do this thing. You Speaker 2 00:17:14 Gotta see the rocks. And Speaker 1 00:17:15 It was on the rocks that God made. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:17:18 Leave 'em alone. <laugh>. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:17:21 Um, what was, so that stock show scene, what is Yeah, because we got a taste of it. We opened for, uh, Casey Donahue that day, which I've learned is which, which I've learned. He is like placed South Dakota a lot. Yeah. Like he's been going there for a minute. I Speaker 2 00:17:34 See. There's a lot more guys like, like that creeping up that way. It seems like, I mean, there's a good crowd for everything up there. Speaker 1 00:17:40 Yeah. Um, Speaker 2 00:17:40 Especially the stock shows and rodeos. Speaker 1 00:17:42 Yeah. Yeah. The stock show rodeo scene, that's something you've I think been playing for a long time, but, and now that your music, you're getting more music out there. People know the songs and Yeah. A song like Peter Garden Baby has to do so well at a fucking stock show or a rodeo. It fits Speaker 2 00:17:56 The vibe, I think. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:17:57 It does. What, what's playing that scene like? Speaker 2 00:17:59 Oh dude, I feel like, I don't know, it's just everyone. There's like, just there to have a good time. I feel like those are all a lot of hardworking people and when they get time to have fun, they turn it on. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:18:11 Yeah. Um, what was, um, going out towards, uh, there was that video we were talking about Lubbock and the, the Blue light. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, um, they were singing back Mack. Miller. Speaker 2 00:18:21 Yeah. Speaker 1 00:18:22 What? And, and it's funny because like when, when I show people your, your stuff, I'm always like this. I always go, maybe a lot of people go to Beer Garden Baby, but to see another one where people are Yeah. Knowing the shit. Yeah. What was that like? Because you looked pretty damn happy and proud and hell you go, oh yeah. I was damn proud watching it. That's, Speaker 2 00:18:40 That's the stuff that makes you, that's why you wanna sing. I mean, that's why you wanna go play a show is to feel that feeling. I mean, I think that's like, that's the best tie right there. Yeah. Yeah. I don't know. I mean, it's, it's awesome. I'm thankful for that. It's for damn sure. Speaker 1 00:18:53 Yeah. Have what, what co do you play covers as well? I'll Speaker 2 00:18:56 Mix in like a cover or two every now and then. Speaker 1 00:18:59 What, what covers do you do? Speaker 2 00:19:00 Uh, I do, I always do hard of gold. Um, the Neil Young tune, especially now since he took all his shit off. Spotify, <laugh>. Cause Ivermectin, you know, <laugh> Speaker 1 00:19:10 <laugh>. Speaker 2 00:19:11 So I always say this song's brought to you by Ivermectin before I play it. Speaker 1 00:19:14 Oh really? <laugh>. Speaker 2 00:19:15 Fuck. Speaker 1 00:19:15 Yeah. That's hilarious. Speaker 2 00:19:16 You can do that down there. It's fun. Oh yeah. You can Speaker 1 00:19:19 Get, yeah. In that scene you can really get away with. Oh, you Speaker 2 00:19:21 Can say whatever you want. Speaker 1 00:19:22 What's the wild, what's the wildest thing you've heard someone else say? Oh, Speaker 2 00:19:26 I don't even know. I don't even know. Speaker 1 00:19:29 I think that's why you have the, the, the, the, uh, fuck you are from Texas. We're gonna rock out. Lame. Maybe because down there you can really do whatever. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:19:38 It just, as long as you have a crowd that Yeah. That's, that's the thing. Yeah. If your crowd's into it, whatever. But no, that I'll do that tune and then I'll do, uh, um, tonight we ride by Tom Russell quite a bit. I like that one a lot. Oh yeah. Yeah. Do some hippie stuff and some cowboy shit. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:19:54 Yeah. Really one of each <laugh>. Yeah. Blending. Blending your two Uhhuh <affirmative>, your two styles in there. Yes. Speaker 2 00:19:59 The Fusion Speaker 1 00:20:00 <laugh>. Yeah. Um, is for, is, did you get some weird vibes from people moving from Nashville to Texas? Or do you just tell people, Hey, I'm from South Dakota. I Speaker 2 00:20:10 Usually just say South Dakota, but I don't know. I'm still pretty damn proud of my time here. Yeah, that's for sure. Because is there am my time there? Yeah. Speaker 1 00:20:17 Is there, is there a real drift in the scene you think? Speaker 2 00:20:20 What do you mean? Speaker 1 00:20:20 Like, where people back in the day were always like, there's like the Texas guys didn't like the Nashville guys. Nashville guys. I don't know if there was ever, I don't Speaker 2 00:20:28 Know if that's even a thing right now cuz so many people are coming this way. Whether it's for like the business or you know, or two. I don't know. Everyone's got a foot in Tennessee still. Even if you're in Texas, it seems like Speaker 1 00:20:37 There's something here. Speaker 2 00:20:38 There's something here. Yeah. Or you have a, people are coming here to write and, Speaker 1 00:20:42 Or you have a guy from your team that comes here. Yeah. Either way. There's some, there's Speaker 2 00:20:46 You have a connection in Nashville right now. Yeah. I don't know. So I don't think, I don't know if that's really there anymore. I'm not sure. I just, I'm from South Dakota. <laugh>, I got no skin and no game, dude. Speaker 1 00:20:56 That's what, that's what, um, the Musk skin I got. And Trey will say too mm-hmm. <affirmative> like we're, we're from, we're from Alabama. We got Buckys in college football and Exactly. And, uh, water burger too. Speaker 2 00:21:06 Yeah, no, I get that. No, I, I think I would say too, I think, uh, like Tennessee taught me to write a song in Texas teaching me how to be an artist. And I'm thankful for both of those places and like, you know, two very good lessons right there. Speaker 1 00:21:20 Yeah. Where's your favorite place to go outside of Texas as far as doing shows? Is it back home or, I Cause you've done Yeah. You've, you've done some in a lot. Some states that a lot of folks haven't. Yeah. Haven't been to like the, the out western side. Speaker 2 00:21:32 I see. I do like playing like Wyoming and Montana out there. Like, I love going to Sheridan and playing like, stuff like that and trying to get up into Denver a little more. I like just the west and the mountains trying to play up and down the Rockies for forever. That's all I wanna do. Speaker 1 00:21:46 What's what's, what's driving through those mountains? Like, because we got that coming up. Oh, Speaker 2 00:21:49 Dude. Just be thankful it's not during the wintertime. Yeah. You won't get there <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:21:55 No. Have you ever been stuck in the, on a snowy mountain Speaker 2 00:21:57 Before? No. Thankfully I just, I'd rather just not take the pass. You just, yeah. Keep my ass at home. Speaker 1 00:22:03 You'll just wait. Speaker 2 00:22:04 I'll wait it out. Yeah. No, I love the west and like going home especially, but I don't like going there in the winter. I'm done with that. I'm soft. Speaker 1 00:22:13 Yeah. Some of my, some of my favorite merch that I have, and actually I was hanging out with that girl from South Dakota. Ooh. You warned me about her. And, um, you were like, stay Speaker 2 00:22:23 Outta South Dakota Speaker 1 00:22:24 <laugh>. Well, you were like, well, she was from, she had worked at Deadwood Uhhuh and was like from around that area, native. She was a cool girl and stuff. And like, we had hung out that night. We went to see that, uh, that Paul CIN show. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:22:35 That was because that show was red. That Speaker 1 00:22:37 Was a good fucking time. But she has my Tyler Halverson shirt. Speaker 2 00:22:41 Oh. Oh no. What are you gonna do <laugh>? I'm Speaker 1 00:22:44 I'm gonna buy me another one. When you got, when you got some damn rich. I still have the one. I love that she's stole that one. No. Yeah. Well dude, she was like, well, like, and that's what's cool too, is like people, like I have another friend Casey, uh, which sweet boy knows as well, um, that she works over at, uh, over at caa. Mm-hmm. And used to do a lot of the stuff with like the bookings for the, for the casino and everything. Yeah. Back in South Dakota. And she's like, dude, I love Tyler Howard. <laugh>, like the South Dakota. Like there's a, there's a pride of the people of the west when they see folks out there like yourself. Speaker 2 00:23:15 You're not, there's not that many of us. We gotta be proud of it all. Yeah, well, Speaker 1 00:23:18 Yeah. But like, does that feel cool to be like carrying like people from South Dakota to be like, like Sierra was like blown away that she was at Red Door and like in a car and passing out, passing out drunk next to Tyler Halverson. Like no <laugh>. Speaker 2 00:23:32 Nah, I don't know. I think it's kind of cold. I know. Yeah. I got stoned again. <laugh> <laugh> Speaker 1 00:23:42 It, it, it happens. Um, that poll coffin show was dope, dude. Speaker 2 00:23:45 When, you know, when you see like two fights before the show starts, you know, it's gonna be a good show. Yeah. And that was definitely there. Speaker 1 00:23:51 Yeah. What's the wildest thing you've seen at one of your shows? Speaker 2 00:23:54 Dude, I don't know. I don't feel like they get too wild. I'm not sure. I don't know this guy, this guy was like kept, uh, he's trying to buy a bunch of harmonicas from me, like in the middle of the set. It was kind of funny. Middle Speaker 1 00:24:05 Of the set? Speaker 2 00:24:06 Yeah. Just like he wanted to buy a harmonica <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:24:08 He thought you were up there selling harmonics. Okay. Well, Speaker 2 00:24:10 No, he saw I was playing and all that shit, but he was, he wanted to buy one. Speaker 1 00:24:13 What kind of gig was that? Was that one of the full band ones or was that one of the acoustic ones? Speaker 2 00:24:16 I think I was just like, I was opening somewhere. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:24:19 Did, he just came up to the stage and was like a quick, quick Speaker 2 00:24:21 30 bucks he was eating. I don't even know how to like sell it. He was just like, Speaker 1 00:24:25 He said, oh, you sold it to him. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:24:27 <laugh> 30 bucks. It was hilarious. Speaker 1 00:24:30 Which, how many harmonicas do you travel with? Speaker 2 00:24:33 Um, I, I usually like keep like five, six different keys or whatever. Speaker 1 00:24:38 Do they, they really make that much of a difference. Like Oh yeah. Your keys and stuff. Speaker 2 00:24:41 Yeah. If you're playing in, yeah. If you're playing a song in c you're not gonna bust out your a harmonica. It ain't gonna be good. You know, it's that It's all gotta match. That's the nice thing too. You can't really miss when you're matching up like that. Speaker 1 00:24:54 Yeah. That's probably my, so, so on that, when did you start playing harmonica? Speaker 2 00:24:59 Um, I was like probably 13, 14 maybe. So Speaker 1 00:25:03 Did you pick up the harmonica before you picked up the guitar? Speaker 2 00:25:05 No, I was playing guitar, uh, a couple years before that. And then I bought Harmonics and just kinda locked myself in my room and played a bunch of Neil Young and Tom Petty shit. And yeah, that was, that, that's how we figured it out. I'm sure my parents hated it for the first couple months. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:25:19 How old? That just Speaker 2 00:25:20 Sound awful. Speaker 1 00:25:20 Just whipping away. Hell Speaker 2 00:25:22 Yeah. Just wailing on it. Yeah. Yeah, I would, I was probably the worst roommate. Just always cranking guitars and wailing harmonics and Yeah. Speaker 1 00:25:31 Do you play electric guitar at all? Speaker 2 00:25:33 I did growing up quite a bit. I haven't for a long time. Speaker 1 00:25:36 Do you miss it? Would that be something you ever go back to or is it not really just, or do you or does it not really fit what you do? Speaker 2 00:25:42 Yeah, I don't know. I really like my acoustic. I don't have the big pedal board and all the extra shit to worry about it. Speaker 1 00:25:47 Oh, it's just the di just the Speaker 2 00:25:48 Di <laugh>. Yeah, I go in. It's fine. Yeah. Hit a tuner. Maybe it's about it. It's kind of nice, but I don't know. I've been playing a little bit of electric lately, like I'll still go back to it every now and then. Oh, so you Speaker 1 00:25:57 Still have it, you still have your electric guitar? Yeah, Speaker 2 00:25:59 I got electric like laying around, but, um, Speaker 1 00:26:01 What kind of guitar? Speaker 2 00:26:02 Oh, what was it? It's like a, it's just a, like a kind of like a mock telly I think is what I'm playing on right now. Yeah. So I don't mind it. But, um, no, I think going back to a little, like electric will be bad too if you're gonna do a little more like harmonica shit, you can kind of whale on that harmonica a little more when you're cranking something, you know? Yeah. Yeah. So we'll see. We might, Speaker 1 00:26:23 Yeah. Could you I can. I, I like So you, you, you're in the process of recording some more music, right? Speaker 2 00:26:28 Not yet. Well, I got a bunch of stuff demoed right now and then we're trying to like figure out where we're gonna record and what we're gonna record. So you think, but I wanna get this whole record out first and then figure out what the hell to do. Speaker 1 00:26:40 Yeah. Would you go electric on the new record? Speaker 2 00:26:41 Oh, I think it's gonna have a little more. Yeah. Yeah. But this one, there's not, there's like nothing. I mean, it's pretty bare. Speaker 1 00:26:47 Oh, this one that's coming out? Yeah. Like, yeah. I mean, like I told you, I've played, I think I've had to ask you for the SoundCloud. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> like again, like hell twice. Hell, hell yeah. Because I'm like, fuck, for whatever reason it won't open in my app <laugh>, but like, we'll listen to it from like front to back in the van. Yeah. So that's what was funny last night, um, at the Round Sweet Boy was like, man, I know I've heard this song. Like I've grand motherfucker played in the Van <laugh> we're we're coming back and you hung over as shit he's passing out hearing. It's, Speaker 2 00:27:12 It's good background hearing, Speaker 1 00:27:14 Hearing beer, Gar Beer Garden Baby and Yellow Rose and all that shit. Speaker 2 00:27:17 No, I'm excited for people to hear those. It'd be good to get all that out. Do Speaker 1 00:27:21 You play all those at the live show? Speaker 2 00:27:22 Yeah, absolutely. Yeah. So that's what I mean. It'd be good to like, have more for people to hear and listen to and hopefully they dig that and might sing that back too. Speaker 1 00:27:32 Do they, do they, do you, um, play that exactly like the record? Yeah. Or, or do you mix it up now that it's been so long? I, Speaker 2 00:27:38 I don't know. I I feel like they have their own little live flare, but it's pretty close to what the record is. Okay. Sick. Yeah. But, and the thing is too, when we're playing 'em out with a band, it's a four piece. So I have electric guitar in it, so it's not anything like what they're gonna hear on the record. Speaker 1 00:27:51 That's what I'm saying. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:27:52 So it's, it's different. But yeah, I don't know. That's why I see what people like more. Speaker 1 00:27:57 That's why I can't wait to deal what 94 Camaro sounds like an electric guitar. Yeah, I haven't heard that yet. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:28:02 No, that, yeah, that can get a little hard. But yeah, no, we'll see that one Jams with the faux band. Speaker 1 00:28:08 Yeah. And you've gotten to do quite a bit of touring, like opening slots over the last year with some different people like Ward Davis, right? Yeah. With him. Um, who else? You, you do any of those? Charly Crockett ones? Speaker 2 00:28:20 No. Be rad. No. That'd be rad though. Um, been like, uh, open up with Mike Ryan quite how that too. Yeah. That's been fun, man. He gets some good crowds when, uh, I think last time was in Stephenville, the Twisted Jay. That places a done is Speaker 1 00:28:33 Stephenville. That is that, that's the, that's the place where all the Ko Wetzel stuff kind of started. Yeah. Um, what's Stephenville like? Speaker 2 00:28:40 That's a pretty good little scene down there. That's another college town with Tarleton there. So there's a good little built-in crowd and it seems just like, it's a, it's a good rodeo hub too, so. Oh, perfect. Speaker 1 00:28:49 College kids in Rodeo. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:28:51 Exactly. So they're all there to have a good time. So Stevenville, I always fun. Speaker 1 00:28:55 Hell yeah. Um, what food do you miss most about being here? Because you're an East Nashville guy, so you got like the good shit out there. Speaker 2 00:29:02 I know, but I really miss roast pepper Speaker 1 00:29:04 Rose peppers. I don't Speaker 2 00:29:05 Know why those margaritas. That's what I like over there. You Speaker 1 00:29:08 So you miss some Mexican, you moved the Texas I know Miss a fucking Mexican restaurant in Nashville. Speaker 2 00:29:12 All I eat is Mexican food now. I love it. <laugh>, that's the only two restaurants in, uh, in Turkey. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:29:18 There's just two Mexican restaurants. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:29:21 Well there's the one and then, then the other one just serves a little bit of everything. Yeah. <laugh>, but Mexican food, man, I don't know. And then what else am I missing here? I've had Leys like two or three times since I've been here. I think. <laugh>, Speaker 1 00:29:35 Dude, we get that's, that's, that's the um, like when, when, um, it's rehearsals at soundcheck. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. I was asking, Hey guys, what do you want to eat? And everybody's like, fucking edley. So like, wait, every time it's Leys and we get the, the wings. Speaker 2 00:29:46 The wings Speaker 1 00:29:47 At Leys are very underrated. People don't talk about those smoked wings a lot. Speaker 2 00:29:51 I Turkey platter every time. You Turkey Speaker 1 00:29:53 Platter. Speaker 2 00:29:53 Hell yeah. Dude. Speaker 1 00:29:54 I've never even had the Turkey food barbecue place. Oh, Speaker 2 00:29:57 That's where it's at. Solid. Speaker 1 00:29:59 Yeah. Speaker 2 00:29:59 What Speaker 1 00:30:00 Do you get as your sides? Speaker 2 00:30:01 Uh, devil Mac, Speaker 1 00:30:02 Double Mac and cheese. Oh Speaker 2 00:30:04 Yeah. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:30:04 Do you get, you get crazy and get the banana pudding or the, or the pie that's sitting there? I don't Speaker 2 00:30:08 Really like the banana pudding. Really? Speaker 1 00:30:09 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. See, I, I like it cause I didn't grow up with banana pudding at all. I get that. I was like, fuck it. I'm a be a fat boy today. I feel Speaker 2 00:30:15 Like if I ever got like the banana one, like in my snack pack, I was pissed when I was little <laugh>. You know what I mean? Like, so I just don't like Speaker 1 00:30:22 What else? What else, what else was in your school lunch growing up? Speaker 2 00:30:24 Oh hell, Speaker 1 00:30:26 I don't know. I was the, I was snack. I Speaker 2 00:30:27 Was a picky eater. Speaker 1 00:30:28 I was a snack. What was like, what was, what were you picky about? I Speaker 2 00:30:31 Don't know. I don't like vegetables. Speaker 1 00:30:33 Don't like vegetables? No, no, Speaker 2 00:30:35 No. None. Do you, Speaker 1 00:30:36 Do you see, I didn't grow up liking vegetables either, but like I started to fuck with broccoli credit, Chinese food with that. Cause they put the broccoli with the sesame chicken. So I was like, this ain't that bad. You know? Yeah. Um, Speaker 2 00:30:46 I'm a pretty meat and cheese kind of guy. Meat, meat and cheese kind guy. <laugh>. That's about it, dude. Speaker 1 00:30:52 <laugh>. Hell yeah. Keep you away from a char chewy board. Exactly. Speaker 2 00:30:54 Yeah. Speaker 1 00:30:55 After it <laugh>. Speaker 2 00:30:58 Hell yeah. No. <laugh>. Vanilla latte. Speaker 1 00:31:03 Vanilla latte. Vanilla latte. Then what kind of fucking muffin is that? Speaker 2 00:31:06 I think it's a poppy seed. I'm not sure. Speaker 1 00:31:08 Oh, I, oh, it makes sense. Either poppy seed or there's something wrong with it. With all those poppy seed. Speaker 2 00:31:12 Something's wrong with it. I don't know. It looked good. And, um, I'm not sure about Speaker 1 00:31:16 It. The other night I was hanging out with some friends and we were watching, like we were talking about like the first YouTube video mm-hmm. <affirmative> we ever watched. And one of the videos that got pulled up was that Muffins video. Do you remember that? Oh my God. Speaker 2 00:31:28 That was a long time ago. Speaker 1 00:31:29 Muffins this muffin that muffin this muffin that muffin. Well were, yeah. What were some of, were you, were you a YouTube on the I on the iPod Touch guy or what? I don't Speaker 2 00:31:37 Know. I don't know. I like, Speaker 1 00:31:39 Were you watching YouTube videos growing up? Speaker 2 00:31:41 A little bit. I feel like that was a thing when we were growing up Speaker 1 00:31:43 Because we're about the same age. Yeah. What what were what were some of yours that were funny? I don't know Speaker 2 00:31:48 If you can Speaker 1 00:31:49 Remember back like the, Speaker 2 00:31:50 Like the old Charlie bit Me one. You remember that shit? Speaker 1 00:31:52 Yeah. Yeah. Or the um, or the unicorn. The the unicorn Candy Speaker 2 00:31:55 Mountain, was it? Yeah. Yeah. What was that called? Speaker 1 00:31:56 We're going to Candy Mountain and it was that guy's name that that that hor that was like the, the horse or the unicorn name Charlie. And they're like jumping on it or whatever. Uhhuh <affirmative>. You ever watch old Greg? Speaker 2 00:32:06 I feel like, so I feel like I've seen him. The green, the Speaker 1 00:32:08 Green Scaly Man Fish. Yeah. <laugh>. The Manina <laugh> Speaker 2 00:32:12 Dude. Old ass YouTube. Hell yeah. And I feel like I always had, like, if I was like real nerd tonight, I'd be playing some rooms, caping, uh, having a YouTube tab open too, and just like jamming into whatever fucking email music I was into at the time. That Speaker 1 00:32:25 Was Are you my chemical romance guy? Oh, Speaker 2 00:32:27 Hell yeah, dude. Yeah. I don't, I think I just played in my electric till I was like 16 and I was all about my skateboard and that shit. And I was, I was all into that punk stuff. My neighbor like was in a Screamo band and went out on tour with Under Oath Oath and I thought he was the coolest dude Speaker 1 00:32:40 Ever. No shit. Speaker 2 00:32:41 Yeah, it was, it was funny. Yeah. But no, and he is the coolest dude ever. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:32:45 But you still talk to him? Oh Speaker 2 00:32:46 Hell yeah. I still talk to my neighbors from like, way back when, so Speaker 1 00:32:50 That's cool. Yeah. But did they, were, were you, uh, are they kind of blown away by you doing the mu like you the music? Did you, al always, was this kind of always the plan like, oh hell, Tyler, Tyler Tyler's gonna do music? Or do you, or did you have like a backup plan? Speaker 2 00:33:03 I don't know. I don't know if I've ever really made a plan. Speaker 1 00:33:08 Like, what would you be doing if you weren't doing music? What do you think? Speaker 2 00:33:12 I'd probably be pissed off somewhere. I know we'd Speaker 1 00:33:14 Be pissed off or pissed off. Doing what? You know, I don't know. A lot of people are pissed off doing jobs that aren't music. Speaker 2 00:33:19 I just, I don't know. I just wanna sing songs and feed cows. Speaker 1 00:33:22 <laugh>. Okay. So farming. I Speaker 2 00:33:23 Just wanna buy cows someday. Speaker 1 00:33:24 Buy cows. Yeah. I've also learned from, from knowing Casey and Sierra, that cows are like a form of wealth. Like I asked Casey a form of wealth. I mean, or not even a forms way to make a living. What's the way? Make a living or, or what did I say? Like form a currency because like, I guess her Casey comes from like a big family that's in like the stock market. Like that stock market. Yeah. That's a funny idea for a song too, because it's like, my brother works on the stock market. <laugh> obviously different than your stock market. Little Speaker 2 00:33:49 Different stock Speaker 1 00:33:50 Market. Yeah. Oh yeah. Um, but she was saying like, yeah, all my um, my fam my dad's like passing down. I I have all these cows. Like that's like part of her like, yeah, inherit like whatever. Like instead of having like money and savings, she has cows. Hell yeah. Like 40 head of cattle or something or whatever. That's rad. Like is that, is that a thing in South Dakota? Or like Speaker 2 00:34:10 If you're lucky? I guess it's a thing <laugh> Speaker 1 00:34:12 Because I'm like, I didn't know that was like a thing. Like where cows and like livestock is like currency. I guess it is Speaker 2 00:34:19 Because I mean that's how like how, how the majority of people make their living. Speaker 1 00:34:21 Yeah. How, how much, how, how, how much does a cow go for? Speaker 2 00:34:24 Hell? I don't know. I think it all depends on the markets, what's going on. It all. There's no like fixed rate on it. There's no Speaker 1 00:34:31 Fixed rate. Like I, like I have a black Angus cow. It's Speaker 2 00:34:34 Yeah. Take to the sail barn and see what you get. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:34:37 Do you haggle Speaker 2 00:34:38 Like, Speaker 1 00:34:38 Hey this cow, is this cow's worth? Speaker 2 00:34:40 Throw it on Marketplace in haggle a little bit. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:34:43 Are you a haggler? Did you grow up going to like, pawn shops and like thrift stores and stuff? Speaker 2 00:34:47 Not really. I'll go, dude. I'm, I'm a hardcore good willer though. Yeah. Into that. It's Speaker 1 00:34:53 The coolest thing you found outta Goodwill, Speaker 2 00:34:55 Man. I don't know. I got some t-shirts I'm pretty proud of. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:35:01 Like real vintage shit. Oh yeah. You like, you can only find this at the, I Speaker 2 00:35:04 I was like, yeah. I was like finding two like the old like nineties country tees at Goodwills. Yeah. Keep an eye out for this. Speaker 1 00:35:10 Wh what, where are the, where's the better Goodwills in Texas or Nashville? Speaker 2 00:35:14 Mm. I got a couple good ones in Nashville. Like to hit. Gotta make the rounds. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:35:19 Have you been since you've been back here? No. Speaker 2 00:35:21 I think that might, that might be what I do today. <laugh>. That's it. I'm Goodwill. Dude, Speaker 1 00:35:24 We're gonna see you at Peach Jam. Goodwill hunting with the wildest shirt up. Do you see there's a fucking like, storm coming through tonight? Speaker 2 00:35:31 Yeah. I get weather anxiety. I'm not thinking about it. Really? Fuck that. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:35:36 You get weather anxiety. Speaker 2 00:35:37 Oh yeah, dude. And Speaker 1 00:35:38 You moved to Texas? Speaker 2 00:35:39 Yeah. <laugh>. Yeah. I know. As soon as I got there I was like, I ain't got no basement and like I looked across the street and like my, my neighbor has like a little like storm thing. I ain't met 'em yet, but if it ever comes to it, I'm definitely knocking. Yeah. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:35:54 Has there been a, has there been anything like tornadoes in the area? Cause I know like Texas, that shit happens. I think Speaker 2 00:35:59 There might have been, but nothing like around us. So. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:36:02 Because you were here for the tornado in 2020. Speaker 2 00:36:05 No, I was gone. Oh, you were on the road. South Dakota. Yeah. I missed the Nader and then all the other shit. Because Speaker 1 00:36:11 You really would've seen that being in East. Speaker 2 00:36:13 Yeah. It was only like two blocks from like our place and east. So I was glad I wasn't home. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:36:18 Well, well tonight they think about it. I think it was, I think Megan posted this on her story where it was like the safest place to be in a storm Speaker 2 00:36:25 Is Speaker 1 00:36:25 The basement. So y'all comb to Peach Jam Speaker 2 00:36:27 The bottom of that old ass building. <laugh> Speaker 1 00:36:30 Peach Jam one was rough for me, man. I've since recovered <laugh> from Pete's Jam One Pete's Jam one was rough. I was it for, for me. I got sick. Speaker 2 00:36:39 Oh yeah, that's right. That's Speaker 1 00:36:40 Right. I was back when I was, I I took a ton of Delta eight and I mixed in. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:36:45 You like disappeared. Speaker 1 00:36:47 Yeah. Cause I had to Speaker 2 00:36:48 Yeah, you did Nicky Speaker 1 00:36:49 Tia to get me home because the edible hadn't even hit it. The edible hadn't even hit us yet. That's hilarious. I I took a, um, I ate, um, what did I do? I smoked a Delta ate joint like it was a cigarette. Yeah. Like you see how fast I smoked cigarettes, <laugh> five minutes or less. Like I, I killed this thing dude, very, very quick. Probably three minutes actually. Cause it was in the fucking car. Then we, um, we, I we eat these gummies each like at the, like in the car mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And then we go in, who are the first people I see? Well, I see you, I see Colin <laugh>, I see Ben and Meg obviously Peach Jam. And then I go out on the, I'm out on the porch and I see Ryan Nelson, I see Joe Fortner and I see Nick Halsted. Speaker 2 00:37:31 I wonder what they're doing. Speaker 1 00:37:32 Nick Halsted had this stuff called Rocket Fuel and bro, and was Speaker 2 00:37:37 It Speaker 1 00:37:38 Bro? Yeah. <laugh>. And it was in this like where, you know Nick, he's Yeah, he's very, he from upstate New York, so very hippie like where Woodstock is from, but also spent a lot of time going out to Africa as a missionary. So he learned a lot about, like, he's very big into like tribal culture. Uhhuh, <affirmative>. So he had like this wooden pipe thing. I Speaker 2 00:37:57 Remember that Speaker 1 00:37:57 Thing. I had never seen it before. And he was like, man, gnarly. But man, I got this so-called rocket fuel. You gotta try it. And I'm like, okay Nick, I'll try it <laugh>. And then immediately after that Jovi goes, all right, there you go. And he was just down in Cali, I think in Cali doing his Cali tour. Yeah. Yeah. He had just come back. So he had two with the fattest rolled things I'd ever seen of California shit. And bro, I, I took all that in like right as I got to Peach Jam, right After having all the Delta eight. Speaker 2 00:38:28 I was gonna say you just had a ho concoction going Speaker 1 00:38:30 On. And I think I had, I think I had smoked, I had pre-game, you Speaker 2 00:38:33 Mixed all the flavors. Speaker 1 00:38:34 I had pre-game before it with Nicky t Job and all those guys at their house with one of job's. Big boys. Yeah. So dude, yeah, I made it through the, the writer's round. What's going on? Did you play that one? Were you on that first one? Speaker 2 00:38:46 I think I might, I might have been because I, Speaker 1 00:38:48 I think cuz it was the round, I, I've Speaker 2 00:38:49 Played one of 'em, but I don't know which one Speaker 1 00:38:50 Because it was the round before and then after the Round was, um, Speaker 2 00:38:54 It might have been that the full Speaker 1 00:38:55 Band. Yeah. Because I think you were on there. I think Nate might have been on there and Speaker 2 00:38:58 Meg was on there too, Speaker 1 00:38:59 Right? Meg was on there. Yeah. Um, and I'm trying to think who the fourth was. Speaker 2 00:39:04 I think it was just three. Speaker 1 00:39:05 It might have just been the three y'all. Um, but I remember being out there and being, I was like, I gotta I nick team. Like I gotta, I'm talking to Nick too, like, I gotta go. So then we go outside and I'm sitting there and I was with, um, Farn, Rachel's and, uh, ol Nicolette Hayford. I, I knew Farn very well through Musk Uhhuh. Like from, from being out in the road and, and just hanging with Farn. Me and Farn have hung out and done that same thing where, we'll, we'll smoke a little bit and hang out and whatever. So she's like, you okay baby? And I'm like, oh, I ain't doing so good, Farn. No, I don't know how I am. I ended up, I ended up fucking yacking at the basement, <laugh> on the patio. And Farn just looked at me like, well, at least you're not drunk. You know, like we all get stoned and get a little acceptable spinny. And then Nikki t was like, bro, we gotta go. The edible hasn't even hit yet. I'm good to drive. And then we, I'm good to drive. And then we went back and Nicky t got me, um, Nicky T put on blue, uh, blue Planet <laugh>, like the planet earth of the sea. And I sat there and drove and Nick's couch and just passed out. I Speaker 2 00:40:03 Bet you thought you were in the sea, Speaker 1 00:40:04 Bro. Yeah, that was, that was just a little too much for me. Well Speaker 2 00:40:07 That happens. Speaker 1 00:40:08 Have you had a moment like that where you've just gotten too high? Speaker 2 00:40:12 It's happened in Denver where you go like, I just, when fuck, Speaker 1 00:40:16 I'm going to Denver next week. Speaker 2 00:40:18 Horrible. They Speaker 1 00:40:18 Just horrible thing to hear. I Speaker 2 00:40:20 Think it's a good, it's a good, it's a good, uh, it's good to find your, your line though. What Speaker 1 00:40:24 Was it that got you? Speaker 2 00:40:25 It was just like, I would just get a bunch of different little sand, like those different joints, like sampling different stuff or whatever. Speaker 1 00:40:30 So you'd mix like a sativa and you'd like Speaker 2 00:40:32 Yeah, I'd just, yeah. So all those together? Yeah. Speaker 1 00:40:34 Oh, 95%. Cool. Let's try it. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:40:37 <laugh>. No. Yeah, it's, it just like, it's when you mix it all. Speaker 1 00:40:40 And were you like out doing stuff or were you Speaker 2 00:40:42 No, I was just at a friend. We were just hanging out. My best friend lives in Denver, so I was just there visiting or whatever. And so it was like, nothing Speaker 1 00:40:48 Pete, my thing what my point is, yeah, Speaker 2 00:40:50 You're out in public. So Speaker 1 00:40:50 That's, uh, and there was another time I was at the fucking Preds game. Dude. You ever, have you ever have a rso? Speaker 2 00:40:56 I don't know. That is, no, it's, Speaker 1 00:40:57 I think it's not the guy that sings, um, Jesse's girl, but I think it's uh, Rick, or that's Rick Spring. Yeah, it's Rick Springfield Oil or something like that. Or it's basically like the dab equivalent, but as an edible. Yeah, it's in like a little, so we went to Oklahoma, Uhhuh <affirmative>, sneaky good Weed steak <laugh>. If anybody's looking to find good weed, Speaker 2 00:41:18 Oklahoma Oak Speaker 1 00:41:19 To Oklahoma, the boys from Oklahoma turns out they're rolled their joints. All right. You know, <laugh> like, uh, they're, they're great. But we were at a place called The Tumbleweed mm-hmm. <affirmative>, um, out there in Stillwater. And um, the folks that run that place, I think are a lot of people in Oklahoma I guess are involved in growing since it is legal to grow. Yeah. And you've got so much land to fuck around with. Speaker 2 00:41:39 It's pretty wide Speaker 1 00:41:40 Open, grow a lot of weed. Um, and I guess it storms there enough too, where it's not like super dry. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> like whatever. Um, they always hook you up when you go out there because they're, they're like, Hey, if anybody wants it, then we grow. Oh, by the way, I grow. Like, everybody in there's involved in a growing operation somehow. Yeah. Some guy came up to us and we have our guy Jason is our, we have a lighting guy on the road. Um, and we, we say that Jason's good at lights and drugs. Like he's, he's, that's why he does the lights so well cuz he's usually stoned. Oh dude. Yeah. He, he phenomenal. Phenomenal great worker. We love you Jason. Um, but we, the guy basically was he always, like, when you go to a place in Oklahoma, they're always like, Hey, does anybody out here smoke? And the four or five of us put our hands up, like Yeah, we do. Yeah. And they'll either pass the phone around and you order for, um, from a dispensary. Cause they have the medical cards, Uhhuh <affirmative> or they grow and they give you their shit. That's nice too. Which that's really cool. Cause you're getting like little, like literally farm to farm to to smoke shit. And they were like, we got these gummy bears that'll put you on your ass. I'm like, oh, cool. Gummies. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> <laugh> turned out they were 80 milligrams. Oh Speaker 2 00:42:51 Dude. Does is steal your Speaker 1 00:42:52 Soul rso. So 80 milligrams of the concentrated Dap. Speaker 2 00:42:56 Where'd that take you? Speaker 1 00:42:58 <laugh>. So Jason, so I did it, you know, cause when I'm, when I'm working on the road, I'm tour managing. Yeah. So you can't have a tour manager that's fucked up, you know? And so responsible of you, dude. I mean, some, somebody's me, me and Trey are the only two. Me, Trey and, and, and I think we got another guy or two, but the rest of the rest of the crew definitely party especially. But I wanna make sure like, you gotta, that's good. Well, you gotta get the check at the end of the night. I don't get that check. We're not making the money. No. Nobody gets paid. You know, we're fucked. I forgot that time or two. And I'm over <laugh> <laugh> and I'm over and I'm over at the merch table, like talking to people all night. So Uhhuh, <affirmative> gotta be on your ball with that too, you know? Speaker 1 00:43:31 Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Um, so, uh, some of our guys are eating these bears. Like Jason, he's eating these bears like caning. He's like, dude, I'm high. But he ate like four or five of them. So I'm like, okay, maybe they're whatever. Yeah. And I don't think they hit, like they hit some of our guys too bad either. They hit one of our guy, little Trey Bonner. Poor little Tray Bonner was like, for real? Don't touch the Bears. I don't think you'll like it. Don't touch the bears. <laugh> Don't touch the Bears. So we're here at the studio before a Predator's game about, what was it, McElwain? About a month ago? Yeah, about a month ago. Um, and it's um, it's like the, the four, there's like five of us, six of us that are going mm-hmm. <affirmative>. And I'm here with, um, with Alex. And Alex has the, has the, had the bears on him. So, uh, he's like, I'm like, should we do the Bears? Like, fuck, I'm gonna do it. So, and he had done 'em before, but he, I think was trying to take a bite of like a half of it. Speaker 2 00:44:23 Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:44:24 I thought he was eating all of it. So I So you had all of it? I had all of it. And then he had all of it too <laugh>. He was like, all right, I'm not gonna let, I'm not gonna let, I'm not gonna leave. We're Speaker 2 00:44:31 Gonna do this journey together. I'm Speaker 1 00:44:32 Not gonna leave Poor Matt hanging. And that's hilarious. And so then we go to the Preds game. We're sitting upper deck behind the goal. Oh. Level, like five rows from the ceiling. Like, we're up in God and God's lamb. We're you Speaker 2 00:44:45 Thought you were way up there, Speaker 1 00:44:46 Bro? Yeah. The um, yeah. I Are you scared Speaker 2 00:44:48 To walk down the stairs? Speaker 1 00:44:49 Dude, I didn't get up. <laugh> I didn't get up. And I remember just kind of sitting there like, like my hand still Speaker 2 00:44:56 Lean too far forward. Speaker 1 00:44:57 <laugh> dude. Yeah. It was so tight. And Alex was trying to like, get me back to a good place cuz he's like, damn, I'm in a good place. I want Matt to be in a good place too. Yeah. But the rest of the guys were kind of just fucking with me up. And it was, it was, it was hilarious in hindsight. But those are my two memories where I'm like, I don't mix too much. Don't mix Delta eight and, and, and really strong shit from two guys that you know are gonna have gas. Nope. I think it's Speaker 2 00:45:22 Kinda like drinking. Just don't mix a liquor in the beer. Just pick one. You'd be all right. Speaker 1 00:45:25 Honestly. Yeah. And that's my Speaker 2 00:45:26 Same logic Speaker 1 00:45:27 Applies. Yeah. See I haven't had, I haven't drank in fucking almost six years now, which has been great. So it's like, I forget about that because it used to be, uh, what was it? Uh, beer before Liquor Never been Sicker. Yeah. Liquor before Beer. The Clear and it's beer before liquor do it or don't. If you, if you don't do it, you're a bitch or whatever. That's, that's what we used to say to peer pressure people. Um, so you're a Coors guy, what are you, what's like your So I was, I was thinking about sending shots up last night, but I'm like, I don't know what these guys are want <laugh>. I, I don't think Job. And Brian and and Tyler are all gonna enjoy the same shit <laugh>. Whereas like that first group I was like, fuck it, I'm gonna hit 'em with the Fireball. Uhhuh <affirmative>. I either hit with the Fireball or the Rumples. Speaker 2 00:46:04 Ooh dude. Speaker 1 00:46:05 Or Dr. McGill. Cutty. I don't, it's the knockoff rumble those, Speaker 2 00:46:09 Ugh. Yeah. None of those. None of those. Speaker 1 00:46:11 So what do you drink? I Speaker 2 00:46:13 Like tequila. Yeah. That's my Gogo. That's my go-to Speaker 1 00:46:17 Codigo shots. Kodi Ego. Speaker 2 00:46:18 I mean if, if, if it's there any, its tequila cheap. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:46:22 Is Godi like a big like tequila brand? Speaker 2 00:46:25 Yeah, it is. I think it's a pretty decent sized brand. Yeah. Cause I don't, Speaker 1 00:46:28 I never, I had never heard of it until that song. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:46:31 It just went real good with the, Speaker 1 00:46:32 It's a Texas, it's like a, is it a Texas? It's George Speaker 2 00:46:34 Straits tequila. Oh really? Speaker 1 00:46:35 Yeah. I didn't know that. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> when something new every day. Speaker 2 00:46:37 Hey, there we go. I'm just trying to get some Codigo. That's all I'm trying to get. Have Speaker 1 00:46:42 You ever had it? Speaker 2 00:46:43 I think so, yeah. Speaker 1 00:46:45 Do they like carry it at bars in Texas? Speaker 2 00:46:47 Oh dude, I don't even, all I ever ask for at bars at Coors Light, we don't, we don't really stray too far. Speaker 1 00:46:53 <laugh>. Yeah. You don't go, you don't go liquor at shows? No, not really. You're not a shots at shows guy? Speaker 2 00:46:57 No. A couple beers before I play and then I'm ready, then I'm good Speaker 1 00:47:01 Geared up. Yeah. When the mountains are cold. When the mountains Speaker 2 00:47:03 Are blue. Exactly. Yeah. Uhhuh Speaker 1 00:47:05 <affirmative>. Did you ever drink a, were you ever like a Miller like guy or like a p r guy? Miller Coors has always been it. Yeah. Miller. That's fun. Miller Speaker 2 00:47:11 Miller's nasty man. Speaker 1 00:47:12 That's funny cuz it's like our, our guys on the road are big Miller like guys. Yeah. Like, I Speaker 2 00:47:17 Don't know. I'll drink it if it's free. Speaker 1 00:47:20 So do you, do you have, like, do you have on your, do you have like a rider yet Speaker 2 00:47:24 For shows? I don't have that big of a deal. Speaker 1 00:47:26 You should throw, throw, throw a six pack of, of Coors into the deal. Speaker 2 00:47:29 Yeah. No, I Speaker 1 00:47:30 Get it. What, what would be on the Tyler Halverson rider? Dude, Speaker 2 00:47:33 I don't even Speaker 1 00:47:34 Know. What would you have on there? Speaker 2 00:47:35 I don't know. I'd have to have some, uh, par some Coors lot. And I need some candy back there. What Speaker 1 00:47:42 Kind of candy? Speaker 2 00:47:42 Need some fucking Skittles? <laugh>. Really? Speaker 1 00:47:45 Hell yeah, dude. Skittles guy. Hell yeah. Do you think one, one color tastes better than the others? Speaker 2 00:47:52 No. I don't know. I do have this weird thing though that I gotta like separate 'em like colors together. You Speaker 1 00:47:57 Gotta keep 'em Speaker 2 00:47:58 Separated. Yeah. And my greens together and my reds together and my yellows together. That might be some O C D shit for sure. Speaker 1 00:48:04 But, but very well could be. It sounds like, sounds like one of the letters, you know, it absolutely is. Sounds like one of those things with all the letters in it. Um, is that like your go-to snack when you're on the road? Like are you No, Speaker 2 00:48:15 Try not to do that on the road. Speaker 1 00:48:16 I pound, I pound uh, bags of, uh, peanut m and ms. And Speaker 1 00:48:56 I, subway say sarcastic Subways Speaker 2 00:48:58 Stop most of the Speaker 1 00:48:58 Time. Subway, Hardee's, McDonald's, Wendy's Speaker 2 00:49:01 Are always connected. Shit like that. Disconnected. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:49:05 No. So are you a grabbing the hot food guy or are you a snack coffee kind of guy? Or do you just say, fuck it, I'm gassing up, I'm pissing, I'm going. I like Speaker 2 00:49:11 To do that if I can, but usually I'm inside grabbing a Dr. Pepper or Red Bowl and whatever else else I can find. I don't know. Cheez it's in fucking, uh, sunflower seeds have been the go-to lately. Speaker 1 00:49:21 Cheezits and Sunflower seeds. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:49:23 That's been the move lately. I don't know why. Speaker 1 00:49:25 Because you're not a tobacco guy at all. Speaker 2 00:49:27 No. Which Speaker 1 00:49:28 I commend you for that. Really? As a, as a big tobacco guy that intakes tobacco. Anyway. He can, you save a lot of money and a lot of bullshit. We try by doing that. We try. Speaker 2 00:49:38 I couldn't really do, the whole dipping thing wasn't my thing. I mean, it's Speaker 1 00:49:41 So similar to Seeds. Speaker 2 00:49:42 Yeah. Yeah. That's what I, it's just the whole tune on something. Yeah. Keep you up when you're driving. Speaker 1 00:50:07 That's one of our Are you a big movie guy? Speaker 2 00:50:10 Yeah. I don't know. Not really, honestly. Speaker 1 00:50:12 Well, I mean not, I mean, today's movies sucks. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:50:15 I honestly, I don't know really know the last time I went to the movie theater, I think the last time I went I took like my siblings to like sing two or some shit. Like we didn't, I don't really go to movies a whole lot. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:50:25 But like, growing up were like, if you, if you're flipping around and like, would you rather watch a movie or watch a series? Speaker 2 00:50:31 Oh, I think I like the movie. Speaker 1 00:50:33 That's what I'm saying. Yeah. So what's, what are some of your favorite movies? Speaker 2 00:50:36 Oh man. I don't know. Pretty big fan of, uh, I was <laugh>. I always put Dances with Wolves on as, as as like, I don't know, just like a background. Some shit. I put that on and I fall asleep. It's great. Speaker 1 00:50:50 I've never seen that movie. Oh dude, I've never seen that. Check it out. And then you'll, Speaker 2 00:50:54 Then you'll fall asleep to it for the rest of your Speaker 1 00:50:55 Life. I've heard about it my whole fucking life. I've heard of That's Kevin Costa, right? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:51:00 Yeah. Speaker 1 00:51:00 He's like Mr. Western now. Huh? Speaker 2 00:51:02 I guess. I Speaker 1 00:51:03 Guess you watch Yellowstone at all? Speaker 2 00:51:05 I've seen a little bit of it, dude. I don't know. I don't, I don't. All those fucking different apps that all cost money at the end of the month. I try not to have too many of them. <laugh>, Speaker 1 00:51:12 I gladly share my login with you. Tyler Halverson. Well, because that's what I did. I was, I was a sharing the log, the login. Sharing Speaker 2 00:51:19 The login. I like Speaker 1 00:51:21 That. Yeah. Like you have a friend. It's kind of, I mean, there were all kinds of log-ins, log-ins for some sites that I shouldn't have been looking at when I was like 12 years old. And then logs for like other stuff to now enjoy movies, you know? That's Speaker 2 00:51:31 Hilarious. Yeah. That's funny as too, Speaker 1 00:51:34 You always had that buddy on the school. Bus. Bus or that buddy on the football too. Like, bro, look what my older brother sent me. <laugh>, his frat brother got this. And you have like a hundred people using the same link, using the same login. That's some shit. And then eventually they catch on and they like, they lock you out and you're like, all right, who's got another one? Speaker 2 00:51:49 All right. That's that. That's hilarious. Fuck. Yeah. That's funny. Speaker 1 00:51:54 <laugh>. Well you, you were, um, you didn't play football Grow, or you did, you played football for a little bit. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:52:00 We're like in a little town. I think you had to play everything. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:52:02 Wrestling was your big thing Speaker 2 00:52:04 That Well, that was like our towns thing was wrestling. Yeah, it still is. But football kind of fucked me up in the head then. I couldn't really do sports. What Speaker 1 00:52:11 Do you mean football fucked you up in the head? Speaker 2 00:52:12 I got a good concussion like the beginning of like my junior year. I got a good concussion doing, doing Speaker 1 00:52:18 What I was Speaker 2 00:52:19 Getting around the outside. I had a pitch and got shoved in the back and like tripped up and came down on my face mask and like slid on my face for a couple yards before my body hit the ground and woke up like in the third quarter. <laugh>. Yeah. I got fucked up. <laugh>. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:52:34 How old? What, what year was this? Speaker 2 00:52:36 Oh shit, I don't even know. I was probably like 16 or 17. Speaker 1 00:52:39 Okay, so it was high school. Yeah. Speaker 2 00:52:41 Yeah. But I couldn't really do a whole lot for sports after that. That's why I started playing guitar a lot more. Really? Yeah. Were you, that's probably why Speaker 1 00:52:47 Were you, were you that interested in sports to where that was something you were like, it'd be cool to go to college and do this? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:52:53 Uh, I don't know. I was kinda like fought with that. Like every time we go out to like practice or something, I'd rather be at home playing my guitar. So it was always kinda like a battle. Okay. Yeah. But like, you kind of just expected to do it and I mean, I'm grateful I did it, learned a lot of lessons and shit from all that. But yeah, I don't know. It was always a fight. Speaker 1 00:53:11 Well, I mean that pretty much answers it right there. Yeah. Like if you were thinking about playing guitar while you were Speaker 2 00:53:16 Out there. Yeah, exactly. Yeah. You'd rather be at home jamming in the basement than out on Speaker 1 00:53:19 The field. Was your coach a hard ass? Speaker 2 00:53:21 No, I don't think so. Speaker 1 00:53:23 You never a hard, that's the thing too Midwest. Everybody seems to be just so nice. Yeah. Unless everybody's drinking and they get into their, Speaker 2 00:53:29 I mean, people get pissed off if they have a reason, but I feel like it's pretty, pretty Speaker 1 00:53:32 Normal because that's something I've experienced, like going out. We were just in, uh, Minneapolis. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> went to, went to that, uh, went to a Minnesota twins game dude. Which they're the closest. Min Minneapolis is the closest Speaker 2 00:53:42 Grew. Yeah. We grew up going to twins games. I love that. Speaker 1 00:53:44 Twins and Timberwolves and, uh, Vikings. Speaker 2 00:53:47 Yeah. We're not Vikings fans though. Absolutely Speaker 1 00:53:49 Not. What, what team do you Speaker 2 00:53:50 Like The Green Bay Packers? Speaker 1 00:53:53 That is, I feel like that's kind of sin being in East, being on the east side of South Dakota. My, my grandpa Speaker 2 00:53:57 Grew Beloit, so I think that's just, that's our family thing. Yeah. Have no choice. Speaker 1 00:54:02 Do you still, do you follow football pretty, pretty big now? Oh Speaker 2 00:54:05 No. I don't know. I follow the Packers a little bit, but yeah. I'm terrible at keeping up with sports, man. Speaker 1 00:54:11 Well, yeah, when you're as busy as you are, like just, Speaker 2 00:54:13 Yeah. Just keep running. But yeah, keep up with where I gotta be. But Speaker 1 00:54:18 So what I do, I like to heckle at sporting games. Uhhuh <affirmative> and Macy will tell you that I'm I, heck I get after it <laugh>. I, I heckle. I like to say yell at shit. I actually saw two min, min, min, uh, Minneapolis, two Minnesota teams cuz the, we just went to the, uh, predators Wild game last week here in here in Bridgestone. And we were at the twins game and I was heckling cuz there's a player on the twins, Carlos Correa that played for the Astros, the team that cheated and screwed my Yankees out the world on series. That's so, I, I've, I like to get af I grew up going to Yankee games. We're loud New Yorkers. We just, Speaker 2 00:54:51 You had to say something. Speaker 1 00:54:52 So I was yelling like I was, I was screaming at Carlos Correa and these twins fans were just, they weren't even like yelling back at me for the longest time. No. We, we ended up bouncing around different sections, but it was just like everybody's, they were looking at me like very funny that I was that passionate, like that yelling, that passion. But you had Speaker 2 00:55:10 Something to say. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:55:11 Yeah, because it's just, I don't know, it just seems like there's this, like, this respectful, it's like a respectful, quieter culture. Speaker 2 00:55:17 Minnesota nice. <laugh> the Midwest nice. Yeah. Everyone's just pretty chill. I could see it. Yeah. No, we're not loud. Yeah. <laugh> we're not that loud, I think up there. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:55:26 And everybody was just so nice. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, you know. Speaker 2 00:55:29 I get it. That's why I like it up there. Yeah. Now we grew up going to twins games all the time. Going to the Speaker 1 00:55:34 Dome. Speaker 2 00:55:35 The dome, when they had the dome metro dome. Dude, you think, you think the bridge dome is like straight down, but that metronome was straight down. That was like looking right down. That thing was huge. Speaker 1 00:55:46 So you saw like Justin Moreau and like Joe Mauer and Speaker 2 00:55:49 Yeah. All them guys. The good, Speaker 1 00:55:51 The remember Minnesota twins? I don't know how Speaker 2 00:55:53 Old I was. I think it was like around my birthday, but I gotta see Eddie Godo pitch. That was like, that was the thing. Yeah. I don't know. No one probably knows who really he is, but that was like, Speaker 1 00:56:02 No, he was a solid player. Speaker 2 00:56:04 Yeah, dude. But I was like playing like little league and shit. That was like, that was my dude. Yeah. Speaker 1 00:56:08 Were you a pitcher? Yeah, Speaker 2 00:56:10 I played, I got, I pitched and played center field. Were Speaker 1 00:56:13 You a righty or a lefty, right? Righty. Yeah. Were you old? Were you playing baseball long enough to throw on the curve ball and stuff? Like Oh Speaker 2 00:56:20 Yeah. A little bit, but it was shit. <laugh>. I just tried to throw it straight. <laugh> Speaker 1 00:56:26 Tried to throw it straight. Not hit the kid. Speaker 2 00:56:28 Yeah. Not hit the kid. Yeah. Too hard at least. Yeah. <laugh> Speaker 1 00:56:31 Too. Speaker 2 00:56:32 Yeah. Speaker 1 00:56:33 That's funny because I know, I know like Colin Nash is the big baseball guy. Yeah. Co Speaker 2 00:56:36 N National Baseball dude, Speaker 1 00:56:38 Die hard. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>, uh, Cardinals fan. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. Speaker 2 00:56:40 But he was a good player too. I Speaker 1 00:56:42 Didn't know he played. I thought. Cause I know, I know. He, he golfs quite a bit too, right? Yeah. Speaker 2 00:56:46 He's just athletic. Yeah. He's a golfer. I need to get into golf. That's what I want to get into. Speaker 1 00:56:51 You ever play Frisbee golf? Speaker 2 00:56:52 Yeah, I'll do that. Speaker 1 00:56:54 Frisbee, golf's nice because it's at a very, Speaker 2 00:56:56 It's pretty your own, uh, your own pace. It's Speaker 1 00:56:59 Very slow paced. That's something that, that's something that our guys do a lot on the road. Yeah. Is they play. Speaker 2 00:57:03 That would be good. And, Speaker 1 00:57:04 And you, you bring a little, put a little one of those little jbo o jbl l stereos like in your bag. So you're just listening to, as you go pack, pack a little something with you to enjoy. I I get you there. Throw some coolers in the co in the, uh, in the bag and do all that. Mm-hmm. Speaker 2 00:57:16 <affirmative>, I could get into that Good walking, you know, I need a hobby. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:57:22 Yeah. What is, what is what, what is, what do you do when you're not doing music? Speaker 2 00:57:27 Uh, that's a damn good question. Speaker 1 00:57:29 Yeah. That's why I ask that. I don't Speaker 2 00:57:30 Know <laugh>. I just play guitar a lot. Mostly. Yeah. Play guitar a lot and drive around. Yeah. I need to find a hobby. Speaker 1 00:57:38 <laugh>, what's the, what's the, what's the critter situation looking like? Speaker 2 00:57:41 Oh hell, I don't know. I don't know. Not trying, I don't know. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:57:48 What do you mean you don't know? You gotta you gotta know. I mean, you're traveling around and doing all this that Speaker 2 00:57:52 Yeah. No, I got nothing. You got nothing? Speaker 1 00:57:59 What's, what are some of your best pickup lines? Speaker 2 00:58:02 Oh shit, dude. I don't have no pickup lines. If they ain't seeing me sing, I got no fucking game <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:58:06 It's just, I mean, that's Speaker 2 00:58:07 It. That's it. That is the, that's it. <laugh>. Speaker 1 00:58:10 That's it. Like the, hopefully they're at the show. If not, yeah. Speaker 2 00:58:13 Like, if not, I got no game. Speaker 1 00:58:16 Have you heard about this whole Ryan Nelson from Air thing? Speaker 2 00:58:19 No. Speaker 1 00:58:20 You haven't heard about our our campaign? Speaker 2 00:58:22 No. I don't know if I have. Speaker 1 00:58:24 So we're gonna, Ryan Nelson. We're we're gonna try and make a push to run for mayor of Nashville. Speaker 2 00:58:29 I think he should. Speaker 1 00:58:31 It's like we're, what we want to do is, and this started with Ryan being out in the road with us, or he would just go on rants about Mayor Cooper here in Nashville. <laugh>, um, and Ryan Nelson doing as Ryan Nelson does. Dude, the Speaker 2 00:58:43 Boy can rant. He can <laugh> Speaker 1 00:58:46 You look up a picture, you look up Florida, man in the dictionary. It's a picture of Ryan Nelson with his shirt, unbutton and a pair of shorts with probably no shoes on. His feet are black as night. Um, and he's, he's got a cigarette or, or a joint in one hand and like a Miller Light or just some, some beer in the other. Yeah, Speaker 2 00:59:02 That's, that's the, that's the message right there Speaker 1 00:59:03 With, with his backwards hat on it. <laugh> saying, go Jags. Speaker 2 00:59:07 <laugh> go Jags. Yeah, Speaker 1 00:59:08 But we're, we're, we're we're talking about doing it cuz billboards on the side of like I 40 mm-hmm. <affirmative> aren't that expensive. Like what are they? Speaker 2 00:59:16 Just Speaker 1 00:59:16 The week. It's like, like under a, like a hun couple hundred bucks or something for a week. Could you imagine? We started a GoFundMe and we put Ryan Nelson Nelson from mayor. Yeah. On the side. Speaker 2 00:59:28 I could see that happening. Speaker 1 00:59:29 Well, the thing is dude, he's a re not to get in the politics. He is technically a registered Democrat. Is he? So he could go in the primary against Cooper <laugh>. He has a political science and a history degree from a prestigious university in Florida State. That's how hilarious. And he knows everybody. Yeah. He knows everybody. Speaker 2 00:59:47 Look, it might just happen. Speaker 1 00:59:49 I just want to get him on a debate stage with Mayor Cooper watching a Ryan Even, even if it's like recorded and we have to watch it on YouTube after watching Ryan Nelson. Debate, debate. Mayor Cooper. Speaker 2 01:00:00 I would pay money to see that. I Speaker 1 01:00:02 Think that's the thing, man. Speaker 2 01:00:03 Pay-per-view it, Speaker 1 01:00:04 We could pay-per-view it Speaker 2 01:00:06 <laugh> Speaker 1 01:00:06 On in the round.com. Buy the line, right? Buy into the stream. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:00:10 Maybe you need to have a debate. You need to get Mayor Cooper and Ryan Nelson sat down. I Speaker 1 01:00:14 I know Ryan will do it. Randy ain't scared. We have multiple names for Ryan now too. Ra Speaker 2 01:00:19 Oh, is it Speaker 1 01:00:20 Ryan Nelson? Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. There's Ronnie Nelson. Ronnie, Speaker 2 01:00:24 When does Ronnie come out? Speaker 1 01:00:25 Ronnie's when he's Ronnie's when he is really, uh, Ronnie, Ronnie I think's more of the stoner side of Ryan <laugh>. Um, Ronnie's like the, the stoner. Listen to reggae like kind of out there. And there's Randy, Randy, Randy is show up drunk crying. Randy is, we're gonna have a good time. And he's just going, whoa, <laugh>. Whoa. We're just getting after it. And then there's Ricky Nelson who has, we haven't seen yet, but we've, we think of the idea of like a dirt track race car driver Ricky Nelson. That's, Speaker 2 01:00:53 That's serving amateur stock car Speaker 1 01:00:54 Driver. That's, that's serving a drug suspension. That is Ricky Nelson that Speaker 2 01:00:58 Yeah. Pissed hot. He's gotta sit out a couple races. Yeah, Speaker 1 01:01:01 He does. He's the guy. He's the guy that's just wrecking. It's like Carman from uh, from the NASCAR episode of South Park where he is dipping Vail and just do a dumb shit. <laugh>. I'm a go lift turn now. Like just getting after it. But How did you first meet Ryan Nelson? Speaker 2 01:01:15 Oh hell, I think probably revival Revival's kinda where I met all my people. I feel like. Speaker 1 01:01:19 Do, do you, is it weird not seeing revival? Yeah. Speaker 2 01:01:21 It makes me sad as shit. And especially that it's not at Tin Roof makes me kind of sad. Makes me feel old a little bit actually. That like, you outlived something. Speaker 1 01:01:31 <laugh>. I mean it, I think, I think it's coming back. I'm not sure where they, they're doing it or what Speaker 2 01:01:35 I think it, I don't know where it's at. But it's not gonna have the same garage door feel and hang out. No. There Speaker 1 01:01:40 Was was something about, there's something about that room that's like Whiskey jam, dude moving outta winters. But it's like eventually as Whiskey Jam keeps getting bigger and bigger, it's tough to do it in that environment. But, but I think that's part of the reason Ward keeps it there. Yeah. Is because of, because Speaker 2 01:01:55 Of that. There's something cool about it. It's intimate, it's small. Yeah. And that's why I liked that down there at Tin and I mean that's, yeah, that's where I met all my friends. It seemed like that whole crew just hung out down there. Yeah, Speaker 1 01:02:03 It was, it was the last generation of the revival. Like kids growing up because it wasn't, I'm trying to think of like who else has come through. Like, cuz it was like 2019. 2020. Yeah. And then obviously 2021. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:02:15 Yeah. Speaker 1 01:02:15 Where it was like you, Ben, Meg, Gabe, Nate, Vinny obviously. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:02:21 Vinny Harper. Chris Harper. Yep. Yeah. All them. No dude, I, yeah. I'm thankful for that place. That's for damn sure. Speaker 1 01:02:28 What like what what um, what is there right now for in that like crew? Like in that scene? That's kind of Speaker 2 01:02:36 What do you mean Speaker 1 01:02:37 Covering that base? Like the revival's not around. I Speaker 2 01:02:39 Feel like your round's covering that. That's, that's we're trying to do. Yeah. That's what I mean. That's the, that's probably the closest too. I feel like Speaker 1 01:02:47 It's just a different, different vibe though. It's a different not having the church, like the church Pew. Like there's, yeah, there's this, when you, when you get a packed back of Tinder for revival, there's just this energy. Speaker 2 01:02:57 Yeah. You're all sitting. You're just looking up. Yeah. No it's a different Yeah. Cuz yeah cuz like some of those places are a lot bigger. Like Live Oak's a lot bigger and wide open compared to Tin Roof. And I think that's just the whole thing with it too. It was just a little more intimate back there. But no, I think, I think that's the closest too. It has to be. And Speaker 1 01:03:13 It was and it was really showcasing that scene. Yeah. Of what was coming up that borderline. Is it country? Is it Americana? Yeah. Is it just singer songwriter? Speaker 2 01:03:21 But that's kinda why it was cool too. It was just good songs. It just, yeah. People with an acoustic guitar and there's, I feel like at that point yeah, a song on an acoustic guitar. There's not really a whole lot of genre going on. It's just, it's good or it's not. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:03:32 Yeah. And you have songs really getting their, their big push where they are Revival songs. Yeah. Like, like the one that really pops up is Nate Frederick. Like you go to a revival and you see Nate Frederick on stage with whoever's up there. Whether it's, whether it's you, whether it's Ben, whether it's Meg, whether it's Ryan, whoever. Yeah. Whoever's up there with him is singing the Dreamer along with him. Hell yeah. And to me it's like that to me that is like, Speaker 2 01:03:53 That's like the anthem that Speaker 1 01:03:55 Is the quintessential like revival song. Yeah. And then before that you had all whatever ever Musky and Luke Combs and all those guys were doing. Yeah. Because they were, they were the group before you guys. Yeah. Like Speaker 2 01:04:05 It's exactly, Speaker 1 01:04:06 It's, it's cool to like think back and see all that. Yeah. But I could see why it'd be sad. Has has town changed quite a bit since you've been gone? Speaker 2 01:04:15 I don't know. I feel like it's only Speaker 1 01:04:16 Been a couple months. Speaker 2 01:04:16 Yeah. This place is always changing though. I don't know. It's always moving. Because Speaker 1 01:04:20 You got here what, 2013? Speaker 2 01:04:23 No, Speaker 1 01:04:23 2015. Speaker 2 01:04:25 Yeah. Somewhere in there. 20 16, 20 15. Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Cause Speaker 1 01:04:28 You Speaker 2 01:04:29 I'm shit with dates and time. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:04:31 Awful at it. Con concussion and, and and Western a marriage Want music will do that to you, <laugh>. Um, Speaker 2 01:04:36 It all runs together. Speaker 1 01:04:37 Yeah. Cuz you've, you have seen town, you've been here long enough. Yeah, Speaker 2 01:04:41 I've been like six, seven years. Yeah. In and out for six, seven years. Yeah. But no, it's definitely change. There's always been cranes in the sky and shit. Rolling and yeah. Always something, Speaker 1 01:04:50 Uh, that's gotta drive you nuts. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:04:51 I don't like looking out and seeing every, like, I don't know. I don't know. That's one thing I I like about where I'm at right now is it's flat. I can see forever and it's great. I don't know why that gives me so much comfort. Now Speaker 1 01:05:02 You have tumbleweeds out there. Oh hell yeah. Speaker 2 01:05:04 <laugh>. Speaker 1 01:05:04 Well, do you, what can you do? Do you go up and touch the tumble weeds or you like kick 'em or what, what do you I don't, Speaker 2 01:05:10 I try not to hit 'em when you're driving, Speaker 1 01:05:11 I guess. How big, how big are they? Speaker 2 01:05:13 I don't know. It just depends on how far they tumble <laugh>. Like they're just, I don't Speaker 1 01:05:17 Know. Is there, are there some that are like, like are they, Speaker 2 01:05:20 You get some like basketball size and you get some like the size of the damn couch you're sitting on. Really? Oh, do they get big? They just, yeah, Speaker 1 01:05:27 They just keep rolling and rolling and rolling. Picking stuff up Speaker 2 01:05:29 Until they hit a fence line and they, Speaker 1 01:05:31 I wonder what the biggest tumbleweed of all time is. I Speaker 2 01:05:33 Don't know. It's gotta be out there somewhere. Guinness probably knows, Speaker 1 01:05:35 If you imagine like the size of a car, like the size of a, of a Thomas of an 18 wheeler, like fucking tumbleweed. Just Speaker 2 01:05:41 Rolling. Speaker 1 01:05:42 Just Speaker 2 01:05:42 Rolling. Taking out fences, <laugh>, Speaker 1 01:05:44 Taking out houses, taking out dogs and all that. Speaker 2 01:05:46 Collecting dogs along the way. Yeah. <laugh>. Speaker 1 01:05:50 Fuck. Yeah. That would be, I don't know what I would do in that situation. Like if I'm driving then I just see the Chinas thing. Dude, Speaker 2 01:05:56 I, I don't like driving like, like the dust storms out there that scares the hell outta me a little bit. When you're driving you can't like see out past your, Speaker 1 01:06:03 How bad's the vision. Speaker 2 01:06:04 You can't like see past like your, the hood of your car and just all the wind gets whipping out there and the dust gets stirred up. That ain't no fun. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:06:13 Is that worse than snow? Speaker 2 01:06:15 I don't know. It's it's like the same, it's like the same feeling. I feel like Speaker 1 01:06:18 Minus the slippery. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:06:19 Minus the slippery. But it's like the same visibility. Yeah. It's funky. Super weird. But, and then too, like, it doesn't matter how many times I clean my house, I'm just gonna have dust everywhere in there. Just from the wind. I always, it's Speaker 1 01:06:31 Like you're, it's like you're on the planet tattooing from fucking Star Wars or something where it just does so much. I wonder if they base that on cars. It was, it's Mars. Speaker 2 01:06:39 Yeah. Speaker 1 01:06:39 Do you believe in aliens? Speaker 2 01:06:42 I mean I think there's gotta be something out there Speaker 1 01:06:44 Because it's like that, that western part of the country, like the desert is where they say that. The aliens, Speaker 2 01:06:50 I'm sure. I don't know. I think it'd be kind of chill if God put something else out there. Speaker 1 01:06:54 Yeah. Would you go, would you go to the moon if you had an opportunity? Speaker 2 01:06:57 Hell, I don't know. I don't even really like flying, so flying that far outside. Speaker 1 01:07:01 That's probably why you fucking drive all the time. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:07:03 I like driving. I don't got no wings. I'm gonna keep on the ground. Dude. Speaker 1 01:07:06 What do you listen to when you're driving? Speaker 2 01:07:09 Oh, little bit of everything. A little bit of everything. I feel like right now I've been, we've been bumping Mac still quite a bit in some Anderson pack. And then we've been going to uh, some Adam Carroll. You ever listen to him at all? Red Bandana blues. Check that out. And then, uh, I don't know. I feel like I listed a lot of my friend stuff too. Speaker 1 01:07:32 You sit there in demo jail? Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:07:33 I'll sit there in demo jail or listen through like listen through my own like old voice memos and shit and kind of do some cleaning. But I don't know. I've been, uh, the old Matt, Daniel record Speaker 1 01:07:44 Dude. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. That shit's good. How's hell? Yeah. Do you see Kenny Wayne at all? Oh yeah. Really? Speaker 2 01:07:48 Yeah. We'll see him every now and then. I've been having him like come out and play with me too. We played a couple weeks ago together outside of Dallas. That was fun. Nice. But yeah, I was trying to get him, I don't know, try and get us together. Speaker 1 01:08:00 Yeah. Yeah. Because he's been, he is he we've had him open some shows. Yeah. Uh, with, with Trey and it's like his style. He's another guy that like, you think about revival, like Yeah. Speaker 2 01:08:10 That he's in that same crew too. He Speaker 1 01:08:11 Was his, his voice. Like that's a voice he heard at bro. You hear that revival, you know that. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:08:17 Homeless in heaven. Yeah. <laugh>. Dude, Speaker 1 01:08:19 Bro. That's that's what you hear. Yeah. Yeah. That was, that's one of my favorites. Um, but um, and somebody else too. You were talking about like listening to like friend stuff. Talk about how you met Brian Fuller because that's a guy that we had early on on in the round. Like you had first met him through like just some different people. Yeah. We had him on when he'd just gotten his dog come off. I Speaker 2 01:08:40 Think I met him at y'all's round. Really? Yeah. The one when, when, uh, Wales did take over, I'm pretty sure. Speaker 1 01:08:46 Oh no. Shit. I Speaker 2 01:08:47 Think I met him through that cause we were playing together and then, um, I don't know really how y'all started riding, but we just kept writing and I'm, I'm digging the shit that him and I are doing right now. Yeah. Because it's totally different like styles and takes on it. But it's cool to watch the lyrics kind of all flow. Like it's, we have the same delivery kind of flow on some of that stuff. Speaker 1 01:09:04 He's got, he's got a voice like butter. Speaker 2 01:09:06 Oh yeah dude. And he's smoothest shit on all that. Yeah. He's great. No, I'm, I'm really liking writing with him and especially too, like when he comes from the south, I come from a little farther out west. So like taking different, just, I don't know, different perspectives too on songwriting a little bit, you know, with life experiences and shit and where he grew up. Speaker 1 01:09:24 Like dive Bar Darlin, a song that he plays out all the time by the way. Like you go watch Brian Fuller ride around here in town, he's playing that song. Yeah. Which is really cool. But it's like if you were singing that song, it would sound totally different. So different. Yeah. Yeah. Have that Western kind Speaker 2 01:09:37 Flair to Yeah. And that's thing too, I got songs like, yeah. So I'm gonna get a, hopefully get a couple Brian Fuller cuts and then hopefully, I think I got one or two of the ones that we've wrote I want to throw on a project. So Speaker 1 01:09:47 Hell yeah. Speaker 2 01:09:48 That's, and yeah, I think that's kind of the thing too cool with writing right now is that if you're not getting one for you, you're getting one for your friends, you know? Yeah. That's kind of the goal all the time. It seems like, you Speaker 1 01:09:57 Know. Yeah. Especially when you got some, some friends that are fucking talent too and it's a completely different scene. Yeah. People are gonna one day look back and be like, oh shit, Tyler Alberton wrote that Brian Fuller song. Yeah. Like <laugh> or wrote that with him and then vice versa, you know? Yeah, Speaker 2 01:10:11 Yeah. No it's, it's it's all cross promotion. <laugh>, Speaker 1 01:10:15 Cross promotion, love to see it. Speaker 2 01:10:17 Marketing <laugh>, market Speaker 1 01:10:18 Marketing. So what, so, um, new song comes out on May five. Yes sir. Thinker de Mayo. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:10:26 Drinko de Mayo. That's right. Speaker 1 01:10:27 Trico de Mayo. You're not going down to Key West Songwriter Festival, are you? No, Speaker 2 01:10:31 I wasn't cool enough for an invite this year. Speaker 1 01:10:33 You won't go unless you're invited. You one of those guys. Yeah. Yeah. See I've never been and I can't Speaker 2 01:10:38 Afford to just Speaker 1 01:10:38 Go. Yeah, that's true. Fuck your shit. As someone who is just going, it is expensive. I will say that. Yeah. Fuck. Um, cause I'm going down there with Nicky Tea. Speaker 2 01:10:45 That does not sound like affordable, fun, <laugh>. Speaker 1 01:10:48 And you gotta pay for all the drinks down there. Coors Lights ain't cheap. Speaker 2 01:10:50 No, Speaker 1 01:10:51 They're cheap enough, but not cheap. Yeah, exactly. You know? Exactly. Not cheap enough to be going down there and drinking. No. On top of the hotel and getting down there, getting down there from Texas would be tough too. So I was gonna say that's that week, that's that same week. Yeah. Is um, is that, cause I was gonna say it'd be, it'd be sick if we were down there. I'd fucking, we'd celebrate that fucking song too. Oh yeah. So you got, um, you got Kylie Fry singing on there. How'd you, how'd you get linked up with her? Speaker 2 01:11:14 Um, uh, I believe Terry Joe Box and I were gonna write with Kylie and then ended up just being, uh, Kylie and I writing that day. And then we've just been writing since. So, but yeah, we were jamming. Just thought that'd be a good, good song to throw at her. Speaker 1 01:11:28 Hell Speaker 2 01:11:28 Yeah. But yeah, no, and I'm excited for it too. And, and she's doing awesome shit and in the same scene, like that's the, I don't know, I think it's just a good fit. Speaker 1 01:11:37 Yeah. But I, I agree with that a hundred percent. Yeah. I'm stoked. Speaker 2 01:11:40 Yeah, no, I'm excited. It sounds awesome. So we got a, we did like a, an acoustic video for it the other night, so we're gonna try and put that out and tease it before it all comes out at Speaker 1 01:11:47 The, at the old Amber Sound right? Amber Speaker 2 01:11:49 Sound. That's right. Speaker 1 01:11:50 That, that is Hermitage Speaker 2 01:11:51 Finest. You Speaker 1 01:11:52 Know, you know the, the story with that house nowadays, right? Yeah. Speaker 2 01:11:54 Nicky T's living up there. Nick Speaker 1 01:11:55 Nicky t's living there and, and Gary and Charlie do a lot of stuff in there. Mm-hmm. <affirmative>. It is less than a quarter mile from where I live. There Is it Speaker 2 01:12:02 Now? Yep. Speaker 1 01:12:03 I live right. I Speaker 2 01:12:04 Wanna get over on that side. Speaker 1 01:12:05 Hermitage is where it's at, bro. Yeah. Mc sweet boy lives over there. TL lives over there. A lot of our, a lot of our buddies live over there and it's got everything. You get a little, Speaker 2 01:12:13 Well you get a little more for your hat like money too. It seems like Speaker 1 01:12:15 You get a little more for your money and the um, the McDonald's around the corner is always open. <laugh> and there's a water burger right there. Speaker 2 01:12:22 Yeah. Man. I don't, it's gonna be an unpopular opinion. I Speaker 1 01:12:25 Don't think water burger's that good. There was so much hype about it. Speaker 2 01:12:29 I prefer in and out to Whataburger. Speaker 1 01:12:30 Oh, same here. Say we're all, we're all Speaker 2 01:12:32 Also, Speaker 1 01:12:33 We're all on that train when Speaker 2 01:12:34 I Whataburger I only get the uh, the honey barbecue chicken biscuit or the Speaker 1 01:12:38 Honey butter chicken biscuit. Speaker 2 01:12:39 Yeah. But I switch. Yeah. And then when it's done breakfast time, you gotta get the uh, just sub it for the honey butter instead of the barbecue. Yeah. That's how you do it. Speaker 1 01:12:47 Yeah, but I don't Speaker 2 01:12:48 Really get the burgers at what a burger. Speaker 1 01:12:49 Yeah. But if they're, but if you have an option between that and in and out, it's in and out all day. And then are you a secret menu guy? Speaker 2 01:12:55 No. Speaker 1 01:12:55 You don't go animal style? Speaker 2 01:12:56 No, dude, I get meat and cheese. Speaker 1 01:12:58 Oh yeah. You don't probably want all the sauce Speaker 2 01:13:00 On there. Speaker 1 01:13:00 No, hell no. We get animal style fries, meat Speaker 2 01:13:02 And cheese and ranch. <laugh> Speaker 1 01:13:04 And ranch. Fuck. You know how you get a, you know how you get a, um, a southern man to suck your dick? Mm-hmm. <affirmative> dip it in Ranch <laugh>. Rob Snyder. Fuck Rob Snyder told me that joke. That's Speaker 2 01:13:13 Great. Speaker 1 01:13:14 That's one of my favorites. <laugh>, I always like to say that. Especially when, when uh, when when I've got buddies that are just dowsing everything in ranch, back home. It's just like a salad dressing. Speaker 2 01:13:25 Yeah. I don't, I don't do Speaker 1 01:13:26 Salad now. It's a way of Oh no shake. You don't do salad. Speaker 2 01:13:29 I don't have no salads, vegetables. I just, I just ranch. I just ranch. Speaker 1 01:13:32 <laugh>. You ever see the Eric Andre clip of that? Ah, yeah. Speaker 2 01:13:35 I Speaker 1 01:13:35 Think so. Ranch it up. Speaker 2 01:13:36 The ranch. Dude, that's a wild show. Speaker 1 01:13:38 Yeah. That is a wild show I've thought about. It would be funny. It'd Speaker 2 01:13:41 Be fun to just do one like mock air condre show. Just destroy Speaker 1 01:13:44 The set. I feel. I I feel like I'd have to, well we obviously couldn't do it in here. Yeah. <laugh>. Um, but I would love to do that. I, I think Ryan Nelson would be good for that. I think Terry Adams um, traces guitar player, big Dick. Terry would be great for that. Especially cuz he has a set of comedy background, like just random shit just coming, flying out of there. Yeah, just destroying the set. Mm-hmm. <affirmative> get like a serious guest on Yeah. Speaker 2 01:14:04 Someone just body slammed the desk right there. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:14:06 Yeah. Get like a serious like, like fucking like Mayor Cooper get Mayor Cooper get like fucking Chris Young. Or like a big like well known person that's like, this is a serious interview. <laugh>. And then we just go full Andre on, Speaker 2 01:14:20 Just go on it. I like that. I could see that. Speaker 1 01:14:22 That'd be wild. <laugh>. So new music coming out on the fifth. Um, any shows for the month of May? Speaker 2 01:14:28 We got a couple or in May, I dunno where we're going. We got a couple more. Like I, we're going to Flores and uh, mercury at the end of this month and then May's kind of just, I'm trying to get home in May. That's my plan. Speaker 1 01:14:41 Is that the best time of year to be in South Dakota? Well, Speaker 2 01:14:43 I got a little sister that's graduating, so I'm Speaker 1 01:14:45 Trying to Oh, nice. Get back and Speaker 2 01:14:46 Play a big brother for a minute. Yeah. You're Speaker 1 01:14:48 A big, you're a big family guy. Speaker 2 01:14:49 Well, there's a big family, so Yeah, Speaker 1 01:14:51 There is a big, there's a big family. How many, how many siblings I Speaker 2 01:14:54 Got, there's eight of us. Yeah. So I got five sisters and two brothers. So it's a full Speaker 1 01:14:59 House. Are you the oldest? Yeah, Speaker 2 01:15:01 The icebreaker. The oldest <laugh>. The Speaker 1 01:15:03 Guinea. The Guinea pig. That's me too. I'm the oldest as well. As Speaker 2 01:15:06 Long as those kids just go to college and get a job, they're already winning. They're fine. They're beating me <laugh>, my brother's setting examples. <laugh> set that Speaker 1 01:15:14 Bar. Do any of them, do any of them have interest in music? Yeah, Speaker 2 01:15:17 I got, um, they all kind of, that's the cool thing, dude. They're all their own people and they have their own interests and it's, it's, I don't know. I got my littlest brother's pretty into music and then my other brother was too and then he kind of fell out of it and finding his own shit and I don't know. But it's cool to watch everybody have their thing, you know, with so many people. Speaker 1 01:15:36 How, how, how, um, old is the next oldest? Speaker 2 01:15:39 Uh, Kenzie is, I think she's 22. Speaker 1 01:15:41 Okay. So she's close. Speaker 2 01:15:43 She's a couple years younger than me. 23. Yeah. So hell, I don't even know how old I am sometimes, man. <laugh> age. Speaker 1 01:15:50 Age is, age is weird, man. Oh, Speaker 2 01:15:52 Who's counting? Quit counting. Yeah. Someone told me I was almost 30 the other day and I wanted to like hit him. I was like, don't say that. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:15:59 I'm, I'm 27 so I'm like yeah, I'm 27. Yeah. So we're right there. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:16:03 I'm like, yeah, you're right. If we're rounding up. I am. I guess I am closer. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:16:06 Yeah. Sweet boy. Sweet boy's. Old man over there. 31, 32. I think so. He's grandpa. Speaker 2 01:16:12 Hey, hope I get there. Speaker 1 01:16:14 I hope I get there too, bro. <laugh> 27. We both live pretty wild lifestyles. If there's a year for us to go knock on, knock on it. I don't think this is wood, but knock on it. <laugh>. Speaker 2 01:16:23 That's laminate. Knock on laminate. Knock Speaker 1 01:16:25 On laminate <laugh>. Hell yeah bro. So you still got your website and all that stuff? Yeah, Speaker 2 01:16:31 I'm still trying to sell a little merch on there. Yeah, I have some show dates and whatnot. Okay, Speaker 1 01:16:36 Cool. So that's where people can find ya. And then is still Tyler Hal? Who? That's Speaker 2 01:16:39 It. Who is he? Who Speaker 1 01:16:41 Is he? Who the fuck trying to figure it out. That's your next T-shirt. Who that should be, who the fuck is Tyler Halverson? Who Speaker 2 01:16:46 Is he? Yeah, that dude. I need. Yeah, I need t-shirts. I need merch. I need merch ideas. We'll brainstorm. Speaker 1 01:16:53 Yeah, I mean, yeah, we can definitely brainstorm. I got, I got all and, and hats would be big. Like that rope style like western hat. Hell yeah. Would be big. Cause I know that's big. Speaker 2 01:17:03 I've been trying to find these, but I found these Speaker 1 01:17:04 Like what brand is it? Speaker 2 01:17:05 I don't even know some, I don't know what it is. My uncle had 'em in some storage unit out in Rapid City. He was like cleaning through all the stock grower stuff and I took like two PA or like two of like blue and two of the black. And these are my daily drivers, but I don't know how old they are, so I don't know if they can be recreated, but they're badass. Speaker 1 01:17:24 So those would be cool to sell. That shows too. Yeah. Speaker 2 01:17:25 I think these are the coolest like paneling and the rope and all that shit. Yeah. Yeah. Speaker 1 01:17:29 See I can't pull that off. There's Speaker 2 01:17:30 A throwback dude. Yeah, Speaker 1 01:17:31 <laugh>. I just can't pull it off. I've, I've I've got a couple hats. I hat Speaker 2 01:17:35 Hell just put the hat and glasses on. Just do it. Just do Speaker 1 01:17:37 It. Yeah. That might be how I go to Peach Jam tonight. That's how you do it. Just fucking do it. Well dude, just roll in. I appreciate you coming and hanging out. Hell yeah. Hanging out man. Chilling. And look forward to hearing about that poppy seed muffin right there.
