[00:00:12] Speaker A: Come on. This is outside the round with Matt Barrill for Razor Alley podcast Tailgate and Tallboys. Midland, Michigan 2024, baby. Day two. It is a hot one, not a cloud in the fucking sky. And we are very happy to be here. It's your boy Matt barrel outside the round with raise rowdy live on fucking location in Midland. By God, Michigan. Last night was fun. It was my first time in Midland, Michigan. And man, did everybody get after it. Quinn 92, Jesse Murph. People singing every damn word. Lakeview, the boys, the home team killed it. Matt Hansen was badass. And Tucker Wetmore kicking off the day. Just an absurd thing to be having at a festival of this magnitude. He's usually later in the day. So awesome to have him kicking things off now. Tonight. Tonight is the main event. It's going down on Saturday night tonight in Midland, Michigan with arguably the one of the tailgate and tall boys kings, a guy by the name of jelly roll. You guys excited for jelly roll tonight? Hell yeah. Yes. I think everybody's excited for jelly roll tonight. The last year they had about 7000 people. We're gonna have Wayne and Austin on later this afternoon from USA concerts to talk about the festival. We tried to do one with them in Bloomington and I was having a little too much fun and forgot to press record. So we're gonna make sure we press record on the Wayne in Austin pod today. It's gonna be great. But last year they had, I believe it was about 7000, 8000 here. And last night beat that, which is a big deal. Tonight. They're expecting another couple thousand to be coming in for the lineup that is predominantly country but still has some all genre infusion. You got jelly roll, you got Warren ziders. You got our good friend Miss Alexandra K. Miss AK. She's going to be joining us in about 30 or so minutes here at the rays. Rowdy ten on location. And then we got Houston adding in a different kind of pop flavor with just an incredible voice. Also has face tattoos, a lot of face tattoos at this festival, which is very fitting for Michigan. The crowd. Lots of face tattoos as well. Everybody's on the weed again, baby. Everybody is having a good fucking time. We got our boy Steve O. Woods backstage, man. We were back there and we were. I'll talk about this with Cliff in a little bit. We got Cliffy D coming up. We got Alexandra K. Coming up later this afternoon. We've got our boys Wayne Klein and Austin Jones from USA concerts. Kind of the masterminds behind this whole festival series here. Tailgate and Tallboys. But I was talking. We were getting ready for Alex Holam to come out on stage last night with us. We had Alex Holem in Lakeview come out before Jesse. And Alex was going to just shotgun a beer. And very typical. It's kind of what his line of work is. He's the wingman. Goes around bars of the Midwest. Just did a great wing review of Cruisans in Peoria and back, back in Illinois. And he went up there and we were trying to find him running around trying to find, we find him in catering and he was a little buzzed and I was like, all right, he's just been drinking since Tuesday. Typical Alex shit. But then he tells me as we had to guide him to the stage from the catering area backstage and he's like, dude, I just ripped a dab for the first time in my life. And I was like, oh God, we're about to put you on stage in front of like 7500 music fans that have been waiting all day for Jesse Murphy. And this is going to be electric. And he's like, dude. And he just started singing along. He was bopping along the cliffies mix before Jesse went on, which was an awesome mix. Dude, the mixes have been fucking fantastic this week and the vibes have been immaculate. And he's just singing along and his eyes are barely open. And he got out there and you know what? He, shotgun. He spilled a little bit on himself. I got it all on video. But thankfully the shotgun process went well. Jesse and Luke from Lakeview love those guys, man. They made a fucking stick statement yesterday. They, um, they came out on stage and just attacked. The crowd was beautiful. It was best Lakeview show I've ever seen. We've seen them a bunch but they came out with throwing hats. And then Alex is like, dude, there's a guy in the front. He looks rowdy as shit. He looked like our boy Colby Cooper, but like the Michigan version where the hair was brown, long, curly and he had fucking pit vipers on. Alex, like, I want to toss him a beer and I want him to shotgun it with me. Dude bites a hole in the beer. Alex toss it to him. Thank God he catches it. He's right on the barricade and the split and he catches it, bites a hole in it and him and Alex shotgun at the same time as we get a USA chant going. It was just pinnacle, tailgate and tall boys type stuff and it was awesome. So Alex survived his first dab. I didn't see him after that, so I don't know where he ended up. I think Mike stoll brought him back to the hotel, and we went late night to the pool at a great time. Shout out to the Holiday Inn here in Midland, Michigan. They've been fantastic. It's like a Holiday inn that operates as, like, a double tree. It's, like, incredibly nice conference center, big ass bar, big ease. Great, great nachos, great wings. Played some keynote, some of the quick draw. Didn't win this time like we did in Ohio two weeks ago, but had some fun. And then the pool, the hot tub, great, great vibes. Nothing better than hitting a disposable vape and then be chilling in the pool in a Holiday inn. And it's completely legal. That's the best part. We fucking love Michigan. But like I said today we got the man himself. We're looking at his food truck right now, too. I didn't realize he had on his rider. Apparently, the rolling jelly food truck travels with a many festival so folks can eat like the king that is jelly rolling. He's got some great stuff over there. We also got shiny on some of the other vendors. The classic corn dogs, nachos, cheese on a stick from Texas. We got to meet the folks at Bistro Italiano last night, and I'm a sucker for chicken parm. I'm a stickler about it. I don't eat none of that southern midwestern Fazzoli's bullshit. That chicken parm was so fucking, fucking delicious yesterday. They had a line that went from there all the way back to our tent. It was so good. So we did what festival carnies do. We traded t shirts for food, and the food was delicious. It was awesome. I've never had chicken parm and fries together, but, God, they are so good. And I got to go over there, try those gourmet nuggets. I don't know what makes chicken a good gourmet, but I'm down to find out with Bistro Italiano because that stuff was good. And then we got dippin dots taking me back to a kid being at Yankee Stadium in the Bronx. We got some barbecue over there. Who's that? Smokin Charlie's famous barbecue. Authentic Texas style barbecue. And then we got cash rewards. You could win cash and ride the bull. And during the long changeover in between Jesse and Quinn, they were packed yesterday. So lots of great degeneracy. You got zin here, as always. Just absolute chaos. You know, we love it here. I love that. It's like a town fair style. It's a little bit smaller, more compact. And we're going to get into our guests coming up in just a sec. Right after this, we got our boy DJ Cliffy D. And we got miss Alexandra K coming over. Very excited to have her on the pod finally. And then we got the boys, Wayne Klein and Austin Jones from USA Concerts coming up a little bit later this afternoon before Warren Zeiters takes the stage. We'll be right back with more. This is outside the round, live on location at Tailgate in Tallboys, Michigan, 2024. Well, now we are getting to our first guest. Day two, live in Midland, Michigan, Tailgate and Tallboys 2024. Outside the round, it's Matt. And we have got the one, the only, the man who has been keeping the party going at Tailgate and Tallboys for a number of years now. He's a 615 native. He's toured with all kinds of people. He's a resident dj at some of the best clubs across the southeast and midwest. And we fucking love him. Y'all going up for a boy DJ Cliffy D. [00:07:44] Speaker B: Ow. [00:07:45] Speaker C: Good to be here, brother. [00:07:46] Speaker A: Can I get a cliffy d? Oh, no. What an oh, no. Like, when you go on the stage, you always get the mic. Ike said that's his first off the fuzzy. You go, uh oh. Uh oh. Yeah. They hand you the mic and they tell you that it's hot on stage. You go, uh oh. [00:07:56] Speaker C: That's how. That's how I check if he's hot. [00:08:00] Speaker A: How you been doing, buddy? How's it going? [00:08:03] Speaker C: I love it up here, man. The vibes. I got here Wednesday night and then the vibes haven't stopped, man. My boy, country boy concentrates, met me when I got here and brought me a little care package. And it's just a different vibe up here, man. It reminds me a lot of Iowa, but more weed. [00:08:23] Speaker A: Yes, and lots of more of more weed. And lots of, lots and lots and lots of more of more weed. That is for. That is for sure. It is a rowdy time. It's my first time here. Nikki T. Came up here last year with Ike and Mike stole just kind of get a lay of the land. He was like, bro, Michigan is a whole different place from all the other things that we do. And I was like, oh, I got to get up and see it. And I. It has been a lot of fun. I kind of like that it's only a two day. A three day would be cool, but I kind of like that it's two days. Yeah. [00:08:53] Speaker C: I think it'll eventually build to one, you know, maybe. But, yeah, two days is great. I mean, it's just yesterday was. Jesse Murph absolutely murdered it yesterday. [00:09:04] Speaker A: You got to talk with her for a little bit, right? [00:09:05] Speaker C: Yeah, she was super cool. She was nervous, and I get nervous every time I go up there. [00:09:10] Speaker A: Me too. Same. [00:09:12] Speaker C: But she was like, you've been doing this six years. I'm like, yeah, this is my 6th year to be a part of this. And I was like, I'm about to go do ten minutes right before you. And she was like, oh, cool, cool. You know? [00:09:21] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:09:21] Speaker C: But, yeah, it's just. It's cool, man. And that's what I do back there. I like meeting all those people. And Alexandra Kay's a sweetheart. [00:09:29] Speaker A: Yeah, I'm excited to have nice to me and everything a little while. So how did you get linked up with the USA concerts, boys and doing tailgate and tallboys? It all started. [00:09:37] Speaker C: The first show I did was Tailgate and Tallboys in 2018 or 19 with Upchurch. [00:09:43] Speaker A: Okay. [00:09:44] Speaker C: And I was with Upchurch, and I just, you know, at that time, I was our tour manager, so I was advancing the shows with the guys that booked, you know, Wayne. And so I ended up becoming friends with those guys at that festival. Me and Wayne ended up with a bottle of menthol driving around, you know, the property. It was at a mud park. And, you know, we just drank. And he was like, oh, you're a DJ, Nashville. So he started booking me at cruisins. [00:10:09] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:10:10] Speaker C: So that kind of led to the festival. He's like, fuck, you're our festival dj, man. Like, you want to do this forever? I'm like, yes, sir. I will do this until we cannot do it anymore. And that was our agreement, man. It was a handshake, and it was like this until we can't anymore. [00:10:25] Speaker A: Yeah. And what it's getting to see it grow from BC before COVID to now, bro. [00:10:30] Speaker C: Yeah, dude. It was cool being like, you know, one of my favorite things doing is welcoming everyone at 03:00 and these people are running in, and it's. But it's. Man, that's one of my favorite parts is just. But welcoming everyone after Covid was really cool because those people hadn't partied in a long time. Yeah, I got to push play and welcome every. I mean, dude. And they were. You think they run yesterday, they were face planting everybody. It was. It was great, dude. [00:11:05] Speaker A: Like, but, uh, I bet, man, now tonight you've got, like, the. Another guy from the 615 and jelly roll. You seem. Seems like jelly roll who you used to. You spent a lot of time on the road with the hangovers and hot. [00:11:18] Speaker C: Chicken tour with him. We did 60 dates all the way to California and back. Some were packed, some weren't. But it was cool, man. And that was, you know, we talked about it on the last podcast. That's when he was really starting to do the country or starting to think about riding the country. And it was cool, you know, watching him do that. Yeah, it's even cooler seeing him at these things. Just absolutely fucking murdering it. He takes him to church, bro. [00:11:45] Speaker A: He really does. And I've seen jelly at other festivals, and it's, like, everywhere. Like, there's no crowd. To me, that's more receptive of a jelly roll show. I wouldn't even call it a show. I'd call it an experience of the jelly roll experience than a tailgate and Tallboys crowd. And especially, like, just seeing how the folks are here in Midland, Michigan. Oh, yeah, there's creatures out here, bro. There are people that work twelve to 15 hours shifts. There are people that are. That are blue collar. There's folks that grow up in some shit that can relate to everything that jelly is spitting or writing into a song. And it's like, preaching. Like you said, he takes them to. [00:12:19] Speaker C: Church, bro, and you'll hear the crowd get quiet, you know what I mean? Like, while he's talking. And it's awesome. [00:12:25] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. Fucking crazy. And then some other tailgate and tall boys, veterans like Warren Zeiters, Alexandra K. And then this Houston guy who I like, how they're infusing different styles. [00:12:36] Speaker C: Me and him been messaging a lot on Instagram and stuff, so I'm looking forward to meeting him here in a little bit, hopefully. [00:12:41] Speaker A: Oh, yeah. And then what's going on as far as Cliffy D. The producer? Because I know, like yourself, o rig, you guys have a lot that you do. You guys have a lot that you do. You boys have a lot that you do. In Nashville, different projects in the studio, working on the studio. [00:12:55] Speaker C: The studio. It is so close. Y'all talking. We're doing painting and floors, and then we're fucking done. So I'm about to be. Carly Rogers will be the first artist in. She's been the first artist in both of our studios. So I hit her up, and I was like, I want you to be the first in again. So she said she'll get a flight whenever I call her. [00:13:15] Speaker A: So, yeah, dude, Carly is one of my day one. She's one of the first people I met when I moved to Nashville back in. [00:13:20] Speaker C: Always ready to work, dude. That's why I love Carly. [00:13:22] Speaker A: Yeah, dude, that's exciting, man. But. But as far as, like, how. What do you enjoy more? Like, do you enjoy being in the studio, doing the production stuff, or. I feel like you're such an entertainer. [00:13:31] Speaker C: When, you know, I love talking that shit, man. You know, like, getting people fired up and it's fun, man, you know, but I love the studio, too. It's fun creating me and o rig and whoever's with us, bro. Like, it's. We got songs with Ed Bassmaster. You know what I mean? [00:13:46] Speaker A: Like the weedle, right? [00:13:48] Speaker C: Yeah. So I love. [00:13:51] Speaker A: We were listening to on the way up. Hot sauce is one. When I'm like, all right, with King Reaper. Like, we're heading up the tailgate and tall boys, we got a bump. Some fucking cliffy date. Hot sauce and dump truck. Oh, shit. Tommy, I. [00:14:05] Speaker C: That was my rap debut. Yeah, I rapped on that song. It's, you know, probably the only time I'll ever rap, but it was cool. [00:14:11] Speaker A: We love that one. Then you have the one with. Was it Jess Lee and Colt for Jess Link. [00:14:14] Speaker C: That was our last song that we put out back in March. And shout out to Cole Ford. You know, he went to the hospital. [00:14:21] Speaker A: Yes. He. Has he been. [00:14:22] Speaker C: Weeks after that. [00:14:23] Speaker A: Has he been. Has he been hanging in there via Nick? [00:14:25] Speaker C: Yeah, we've been texting. So he's good. He's, you know, he's waiting. He's gonna get healthy and then get back. [00:14:31] Speaker A: It's got to be kind of killing him to not be out on the road war. That dude was doing it. We're going back to the mud digger records. You know, like, he's been going for so long, and that's kind of in, like, the world that you've been. You've been living in with the. With. We talk about Nikki and I talk about razor outdy. A bunch, like, the infusing of genres and different worlds coming together and the world, in a way, country kind of started with that, with the country rap shit. The country, the hiccup or the different things. [00:14:57] Speaker C: I mean, Colt Fort, you know, Jason Aldean, all that. It's been. It's been happening. It just not at the level it's happening right now. [00:15:04] Speaker A: Yeah. And you kind of got to be a part of watching that. Been in the trenches with that, man. Yeah. Bringing. Bringing beats to country. Folks like the beats they like what you're talking about. [00:15:14] Speaker C: Everybody likes a good beat. Good fucking beat. [00:15:17] Speaker A: Everybody loves a good fucking beat, dude. And I love the crew that you've brought up to this one. Talk a little bit about the concentrates, folks, and talk a little bit about the. Talk a little bit about our boy backstage, Steve O Woods. [00:15:28] Speaker C: Well, we met in Iowa. Steve O. I've known him for. We just been messaging probably the past few months. Super nice guy. You know, he brought me a hell of a care package yesterday to the box. [00:15:39] Speaker A: The box with the photo? Yeah. [00:15:40] Speaker C: Box had a photo of me and him in it, and it was from Iowa, and it presented with the flyer on joints. And it's just fucking, you know, he pretty. You know, he brought that. And then my boy, country boy concentrates. I've known him since 2017, toured with upchurch, and, you know, you just meet people like that and you become their friend, dude. [00:16:00] Speaker A: Like. [00:16:00] Speaker C: And so whenever you're in the area, they come see you, they come take care of you, or they fucking come kick it, you know? But Steve O's. Steve O's the man. That green room back there is something else. [00:16:10] Speaker A: That's what. That's. [00:16:11] Speaker C: Why do any dabs till I'm done with my last set? [00:16:14] Speaker A: That's what I'm saying, dude. I'm like, dude, I'd love to partake and support and do content around this, but if even I'm only up there for, like, a minute to two minutes, tops, and I still don't. I'm still, like, nervous that the dab line is like, you can cross that line and your day goes to, I don't want to do shit. I want to chill and enjoy this. [00:16:32] Speaker C: Hanging around these dudes long enough, and I'm like, all right, let's wait till I'm done with work. And then I will. I will dab it up. [00:16:38] Speaker A: Wait, I'm off the clock, and we will dab, boys. Another thing I want to talk about, one of my favorite tailgate and tall boys memories. I just started coming to these last year. We did Bloomington lasting year two. This year has been insane. Iowa, that's where I first started hosting with you. And I learned how to get my voice better. I'm getting reps and learning the after party in Iowa at that little shitty bar, Manning's whistle. Manning's whistle stop in Clinton, Iowa, bro. I'm walking in there, and I was like, where are they gonna have cliff in this place? Like a little shack? And we get in there, and you're in the corner, and it's just you and o rig behind a table. Yep. Just. It's you and o rig against the world. [00:17:19] Speaker C: That's a fucking after party. [00:17:20] Speaker A: Fucking Manning, bro. And you guys are standing there behind the table and you got, you got all these people coming up to you be like, but that drinks. You're making sure nobody spills anything. You and over to go, like your own security, everything. And you're just in the corner and that place got rowdy. And then my favorite top, probably my favorite tailgate and tallboys memory to date, including the cool stuff we've gotten to do and the cool things we've gotten to. A racer Audi. The after party in Bloomington, Illinois, was fucking insane. [00:17:50] Speaker C: About 5000. About 5000, they said in front of me, which was. It was awesome, bro. It was one of those moments as a dj. Like, I even told my buddy o rig, I was like, I don't want, I don't know what just happened. You know what I mean? Like when you get done, I couldn't tell you one thing I played. It was just everything worked. Everything I played. [00:18:08] Speaker A: I remember you looking at me and you were like, bro, we're about to get ratchet. And then you hit a button. I forget what song. I forget what song was probably sexy red. At a country festival, there were kids climbing the fence. Oh, yeah, get on stage, enjoying the party on their meet. Nikki t was doing security. I was doing security over it. Oh, rig was doing security while getting content on the phone. You're up there. O rig's like, hey, nobody passed this line. Like, all right, I'm back at whiskey row. I'm bouncing on broadway. Nobody passed this fucking. [00:18:37] Speaker C: That was a crazy afterparty. That was just a very intense 2 hours. [00:18:41] Speaker A: And my favorite part about it is again, the tailgate. And tallboys, guys, they're family. We talk about it being like, we're going to summer camp and we're seeing everybody from the security crew to the catering crew to the staging folks with Greg and everybody. Wayne comes up to you and like, holy shit, Wayne. Wayne wanted every single one of those 5000 people to be on stage. Yeah, Wayne, Wayne. Everybody's security was like, what's going on? And Wayne's like, oh, we're just having fun. One of the main guys at the festival, it's like, let all these guys on stage, let's take the fence down. I don't know how to climb a fence. And I remember him. He's been texting you about that after party, right? [00:19:17] Speaker C: Yeah, yeah, dude, it was, it was memorable. I mean, people are still talking about it. And, uh, but that was, you know, that was 5000 people that stuck around after Bailey Zimmerman Saturday and Friday after, you know, Eric Church. It was. It was a good crowd, man. It's just very blessed, man, to be able to do this at the level I'm doing it here, you know, because I'm not just a dj. I do the radio ads all year. And, you know, this year we did rock ads for jelly and shine down and country ads for jelly. So we had to, like, you know, make different kinds of radio ads. So it's pretty cool, man. And can't wait till next year, bro. [00:19:57] Speaker A: I can't wait for next year, too. And I'm just so happy to be a part of this family. And honestly, we wouldn't know these guys and wouldn't have been in contact with them. I'd done a show at cruisins back when I was with Trey, but we wouldn't have known these. Gotten in with Wayne and Austin and this crew and gotten to have these experiences if it weren't for you going to Batman. [00:20:16] Speaker C: Wow, man. It was. It was time for you guys. You know what I mean? Like, you guys saw what you guys were doing, and I hit the boys up, and I was like, they need to be a part of this. Like, we need to grow together because you guys are just like us. [00:20:30] Speaker A: Yeah, dude. And. And we're so happy to be a part of the family. And I cannot wait to burn this place down. I don't know how they're gonna fit 12,000. [00:20:39] Speaker C: Tonight's gonna be great. [00:20:40] Speaker A: I don't know. [00:20:40] Speaker C: Jelly roll night. [00:20:42] Speaker A: Don't know. [00:20:42] Speaker C: Six one five invades, brother. [00:20:44] Speaker A: I don't know. And you have a longer set tonight. [00:20:46] Speaker C: Yeah, I do. I'm doing 30 minutes before jelly tonight. [00:20:48] Speaker A: 30 minutes. [00:20:51] Speaker C: We're gonna party before. Before we party. [00:20:55] Speaker A: Set. And then we're gonna get up there. I don't know how I'm gonna close it out that last break, cuz I'm not doing the Warren break. That's this time around because Wayne and Austin were like, man, I want to do the podcast again. One, make sure you press record, which I'm gonna do. I'm watching the time we hit record. Yes, we did. We did. We're 13 minutes and we're 14 minutes in on this thing. I'm watching. I'm my own producer. I'm learning. It gets a little chaotic sometimes. You know how it is. You've done it. [00:21:17] Speaker D: We've all done security. [00:21:19] Speaker A: We've all done it. But we're gonna have Wayne and Austin coming on like the boys in between Alex and Warren. So that'll just be you up there for. For Warren. But. But, yeah, dude, it's frickin. [00:21:30] Speaker C: It's been a great year, dude, thank you for fucking crushing it, dude. [00:21:34] Speaker A: I appreciate you guys for having us. I'm having a ball. My voice is definitely better than this time. I'm learning that first one in Clinton, bro, when you were, like, age, and I was like, I knew it. [00:21:42] Speaker C: I knew it. That first day. I was like, oh, he's gonna be wrecked tomorrow. [00:21:45] Speaker A: And then I was right. And then Bloomington, I've had so many people come up to me and ask, hey, where's your olive oil at Bloomington, we don't think we need the olive oil this time. We're also off the cigarettes. I quit cigarettes. Like, fully important. [00:22:00] Speaker C: Weed only, bro. [00:22:01] Speaker A: Weed only. Weed only. We're in Michigan, you know, weed. The people. You know, we're having. We're having a great. We're having a great time. Yeah, we got the. On the weed again. We got stickers for the kids. We love that. This is a family festival, too. Our company's called raise Rowdy. You guys are raising them rowdy. Bringing them the tailgate in Tallboys, Midland, Michigan, on jelly roll, daddy. I love it. Heads up. Hell yeah. Hell yeah, devil. Horns up. That's awesome. You girls ready to rock and roll? Go over there. Hey, girls, go over there and pick out a sticker. We got stickers over at the merch table just around the corner. Go run over, pick out a sticker. Tell them. Tell them. Tell them Matt sent you over there. Pick out a. Pick out a sticker each. If mom and dad want to buy a hat or shirt, go for it. [00:22:35] Speaker C: This is great, man. [00:22:36] Speaker A: Dude, it's been awesome, man. I love Midland, Michigan. I love the midwest. [00:22:40] Speaker C: I love you, brother, for having me again. Yeah, maybe we'll have to do it again, bro. [00:22:45] Speaker A: I want to. I want to. I want to do a collab at cahoots, and I want to help promote in some way. Maybe we do, like, a collab merchandise piece. We know you love your flat bills. Maybe we do, like, a flat bill. Like Cliffy D. Raise your audi hat, and we do it around your birthday bash or something. Or one of your shows at cahoots or something. Let's talk about that off the mic. But it'd be cool to do something. Cahoots just being one of the closest spots. We love. We love the folks over there or any of the other clubs. But, dude, any. Anything we can ever do to collab with. With yourself, with o rig, with your concentrates. Guys, anybody that's in the cliff ed family isn't automatically in the race reality family, because you're an integral part of what we do. Y'all make some noise one time for a boy. Dj cliff ed. And if you're not following Cliff, get on the social media, follow him. Be on the lookout for the new music coming and be on the lookout. He goes all around, pretty much the midwest, but I know he's bounced around all over the country, all over the world. [00:23:39] Speaker C: Cruisins, Halloween and new year's Eve in Peoria, Illinois. [00:23:43] Speaker A: We have plans for Halloween, but we don't have our new year's Eve figured out, so we might. [00:23:47] Speaker C: The plans just got made. [00:23:48] Speaker A: I know, I know. I think raise rowdy. I want to get Nikki t up the grill. Hell, yeah. You got a hat. Let's go. One of the new ones. We only got a few of those left, but, yeah, we might. I've been telling Nikki t and ike that I got to get them to cruisins because it's, like, exactly what you would think the guys from Tailgate and Tallboys bar would be like. Yeah, it's exactly that. It is. It is Castle of degeneracy. But, Cliffy D, I appreciate you coming on. Enjoy that serve side, too, man. The lemonade is good for the show. Mix it in with the. All the jaeger bombs, you know, keep you going, you go go juice my rider. Yeah. Cliffy D's Ryder. Just a gallon of Jaeger bombs for the. For the weekend, you know, I'll get him through, but we'll be back with more. We got our girl Alexandra K coming up. And then we got Wayne Klein and Austin Jones from USA Concerts coming on later this afternoon. You are watching listening to outside the round live on location at Tailgate and Tall boys, Midland, Michigan, 2024, baby. [00:24:41] Speaker C: See you. [00:24:42] Speaker A: Tailgate and Tall boys, Midland, Michigan. How we feel. And the boys are back. The Nashville folks in the house. Well, my name is Matt Barrel. We're back here, tailgate and Tallboys, Midland, Michigan, 2024, outside the round. And we are here hanging out with our girl wearing a raised, rowdy black script. Looking good, y'all. Give it up for a girl, Miss Alexandra K. Hello, everyone. Sis, thanks for coming and doing this. [00:25:07] Speaker B: Oh, I'm so happy to be here. [00:25:08] Speaker A: How has the day been so far? [00:25:09] Speaker B: It's been so good. We just pulled in. I got myself a little something to eat, and then we're doing this, and then after that, we're gonna sound check and then rock the stage tonight. It's gonna be great. [00:25:18] Speaker A: Yeah. And you were at the tailgate. Did you do. You did Bloomington? [00:25:21] Speaker B: I did Bloomington, right. Or Iowa? [00:25:24] Speaker A: Was it Iowa? [00:25:25] Speaker B: No, it's Bloomington. I've done so many at this point. Tailgate and Tallboys have been like, on every single one of them. So I'm like, I've done Iowa. I've done Bloomington. Now we've done this one. I did, like three last year. Yeah. Love it. [00:25:36] Speaker A: They're a lot of fun. And festival season, no matter where you go, is a great time. But there's something special about the midwest. I know. You're a southern Illinois girl. [00:25:43] Speaker B: I am, I am. [00:25:44] Speaker A: The midwest just does it different. [00:25:45] Speaker B: It truly does. Yeah. And it's just so nice. Last night we played in Bloomington. Actually, fair in Bloomington last night. And so I was like, man, you know, living downtown in Nashville is. I live like, in midtown area. And it's like living in the city. As soon as I hit the cornfields, I'm like, I'm home, baby. Here we go. Yeah. [00:26:03] Speaker A: You see the cornfields and you see those windmills. Windmills are like a big thing where I'm like, yeah, we don't. Because I'm from New York. We don't have that stuff up there. You know, it's different. And then just the crowds at this thing. And they're expecting. So yesterday they had about 8000 here. They're expecting about twelve today. With you and Jelly. [00:26:20] Speaker B: I expect that with Jelly. Yeah. [00:26:22] Speaker A: And Jelly's big. Jelly's a pretty good friend of yours, right? Yeah, we got a bunch. [00:26:26] Speaker B: We just released a song together called leave the light on. That's on the Twitch soundtrack. So if you guys haven't heard that, check it out. But maybe. Maybe I can convince him to let me come sing it with him tonight. [00:26:35] Speaker A: We'll see. That's awesome. Twister sound. That's pretty crazy. Did you ever think you'd have a song in a movie like that? [00:26:41] Speaker B: No. No. Especially not as an indie artist. Like, you know, I mean, eventually I'm sure I'll sign another record deal whenever everything is right. But right now, as an independent, I've done more than I ever did. I've been signed twice. So it's just really crazy. But a lot of that's thanks to people like jelly. Just like really champion championing me, you know? [00:26:58] Speaker A: Yeah. And it's thanks to the fans, too. You got those little girls over there. Number one fan. So cute. So cute that you got to meet them and have that moment with the girls. That's awesome. And it's something. We have a. We have a. One of our old razor outdy t shirts would say, raise rowdy. It said proudly, independent. You know, we love the champion independent artists. I got my start in the touring world working with Muscadine Bloodline. You talk about, like, independent. We're going to do it ourselves. We're on the backs of our fans, and, like, they're in it with us. And I feel like you embody that as well. [00:27:28] Speaker B: They are one of my favorite groups for that reason, but also, they make killer music, and I'm just a real fan of their music, but also, like, I've really looked up to them all of these years of being independent and just tried to follow in their footsteps. But Muscadine Bloodline's an incredible group. [00:27:42] Speaker A: Yeah, yeah. And being an indie is cool. Cause you can have that control and do it, and it's the grassroots thing. And that's what you're seeing right here with those little girls and their parents coming up to you. And you build these relationships with the fans, and you get to say what Alexandra K wants to say, which to me is the best part about it. You know, you're an artist. You get to put out the art that you want to do, and we. [00:28:01] Speaker B: Get to release it whenever we want and whenever it's real and true in our life. And we're not really making records years ahead of time. Right. I'm actually singing. I was actually singing about my divorce when I was going through my divorce because of the way we can do our release timelines and just kind of throw things out the way we want. We don't have to kind of climb that corporate ladder first to get all the approval. So it's been really, really nice. I'm having a blast being an independent artist, for sure. [00:28:23] Speaker A: That's awesome. And this festival, too, they've got. I like how this is kind of set up more like a fair compared to Bloomington. Bloomington, it's like a mile and a half to get from, like, the vendor area to the catergill. I did so many steps. I wear this apple watch all the time, and it's like, yeah, in the end, it's like, I would look at the end of the day, and I was. I was like, holy cow, I burned. I burned 2000 calories one day just walking around. This is nice where it has that kind of fair environment. You've got kids here. You've got people of all ages. You've got the jelly roll crowd. You've got the Alexandra K. Crowd. You got the Warren Zuiders crowd, the Houston crowd, the tailgate and Tallboys crowd. It's like there's something special about this festival in particular. [00:29:00] Speaker B: There really is. And I, like I've said, I've been a part of so many of them, and I'm, like, so, so excited to always be back. And big shout out to Wayne for bringing me back every single year. I mean, they've championed me. [00:29:11] Speaker A: Wayne is a one of a kind individual. He is like that fun uncle that you see that you see at Thanksgiving or you see it, like, see at Easter or something. [00:29:19] Speaker B: I'm always trying to track him down as soon as we get here because I'm like, I know he's where the party's at, for sure. 100%. [00:29:24] Speaker A: Yes. He always is. So for people that haven't seen an Alexandra K show before, we've gotten to see you quite a few times. I actually remember going down. I went down to Zydeco a few years ago when you played, when you had. We had. We had just had Lauren Weintraub on the pod, and that was a few years back, and that was my first time seeing. I was like, holy cow, those girl on stage, she commands. I was in, like, a smaller club. And then to have gotten to see you on these festival stages now a bunch. For those that haven't seen an Alexandra K show before, what do they have to look forward to today? [00:29:50] Speaker B: Well, I'm definitely gonna, you know, sing a lot of the songs from my debut album from all I've ever known. So gonna sprinkle in a lot of that, but then also gonna, you know, give them tallboys. You can't play tailgate and tallboys without playing tallboys. So, you know, we're gonna give them the party and keep it upbeat and keep it fresh. And everybody that hasn't heard me before is gonna get some of my favorite nineties songs, and they're gonna get a chance to sing and party as well. So we just try to make sure that anytime we play a festival that we're leaving with fans and then also playing to the already existing. So we're just really excited to show that tonight. [00:30:21] Speaker A: Awesome. Now, what's your go to? Like, fair food. So we're looking at work. We're in a great spot where the food is, like, right there. So at the raise, rowdy, it's nice and easy. And we've made deals with, like, the bistro Italiano guys. We traded him a t shirt for a chicken parm sandwich. One of the best decisions I've ever. [00:30:35] Speaker B: Made I mean, that sounds incredible. That sounds like the best decision. [00:30:38] Speaker A: A corn dog or your barbecue, you. Pizza. Like, what do you. When you're going back to, like, well, I'm the kid. Alexandra K. At the county fair. [00:30:46] Speaker B: Not even the kid going back to last night. I played a county fair last night in Bloomington, and I believe I had it. Don't judge me here, guys. I was hungry never. But I believe I had a corn dog yesterday. I finished the night before I went to bed with, like, cheese fries, and then I also had, like, brisket, Mac and cheese. So I hit, like, every. [00:31:05] Speaker A: That sounds so good. [00:31:07] Speaker B: Brisket. I hit, like, every food truck at this county fair last night, so I'm gonna be probably doing nachos tonight. A bacon smash burger sounds incredible. Yeah, I mean, the dippin dots don't stand a chance. I'll be over there. [00:31:20] Speaker A: I know. It takes me back to, like, being a kid, going to, like, yeah, go six flags. Six flags. Or for me, going to Yankee Stadium, eating it out of, like, the little Yankee helmet. Now Illinois, are you? More like Chicago sports stood. Louis. St. Louis sports. [00:31:33] Speaker B: St. Louis sports. I'm a Cardinals fan. [00:31:35] Speaker A: Cardinals fan. Yeah. It's like going to the baseball game. You eat it in, like, the little helmet, little dipping dots. I remember eating that, making a mess, my parents being so pissed off. [00:31:42] Speaker B: Yeah, I know. Big old hot dogs like mustard. Just all that. [00:31:46] Speaker A: So good. You gotta get the memory for great value. You gotta do it, you know? So what else do we have? So we just put out. You were featured on the Twister soundtrack. What do we got as far as things to look forward to with the Alexander? [00:31:58] Speaker B: Well, I'll be on tour with jelly the entire fall, so super excited. Yeah, so it's my first arena tour, so I'm really excited to open for him and be out there with Warren, and I think it's just gonna be a great crew. I love his crew. So I'll be out with him for, like, nearly 40 shows in the fall and then come home, finish my. My second record, my sophomore album, and then that should be out beginning of next year. I've got a lot of other things I'm not allowed to talk about yet, but a lot of collaboration in the works and some other business things that I'm opening up that I'm really excited for people to experience. So, yeah, lots going on, and we don't sleep much, but we're having a great time doing it. [00:32:37] Speaker A: That's just it, people. I'm always like, man, I'm tired, but I get to do what we do with raised rowdy, and it's like. And you guys feel it as artists, you know, it's like we're going on the road, going to these festivals, or we're putting on these shows in Nashville that we do at Losers and live Oak, and it's like, it's a grind, but I wouldn't want to be doing anything else. No. [00:32:55] Speaker B: We wake up every morning and I, like, open the blinds in the bus and say a prayer and just thank God and thank everybody for another day of doing this. Like, we get to do what we love for a living. We get to wake up another day and do what we love for a living. Like, it's insane. It's all I've ever wanted my whole life. So, like, I'm really blessed and. [00:33:13] Speaker A: Yeah, you're very blessed and very deserving because you work your ass off. [00:33:16] Speaker B: Thank you. [00:33:17] Speaker A: You really do. And we love watching you grow. Thank you for coming and doing this. We appreciate you so much. [00:33:21] Speaker E: Much. [00:33:22] Speaker A: And we cannot wait for your set up there. I'm so excited to get to introduce you. I'm honored to get to introduce all the folks playing, but especially our sister, Miss Alexandra K. Well, I'm honored to. [00:33:30] Speaker B: Be on the podcast. First of all, I've wanted to be on this podcast for a while, so thank you so much. I'm so glad we made it happen. So thanks for having me. I'm just as honored. [00:33:37] Speaker A: Thank you. Absolutely. And anything we can ever do in Nashville, like any. Anything with. We'll talk. We'll talk to the team. We'll talk to the management over there. [00:33:45] Speaker B: Yeah, you got it. [00:33:46] Speaker A: Anything we can do to help you out or whatever, we can collab. We consider you part of our razor outdy family, and we love what you do, sis, seriously. [00:33:52] Speaker B: Oh, thank you, guys. Thank you so much. [00:33:54] Speaker A: Absolutely. You'll give a big hand up for our girl, Miss Alexandra K. AK, we love you. Now go soundcheck. Get ready. And we cannot wait to party with you later. It's gonna be love. [00:34:05] Speaker B: See you later. [00:34:06] Speaker A: Bye, guys. We'll be back with more. We got Wayne Klein and Austin Jones coming up in just a little while. This is outside the round live on location at Tailgate and Tallboys, Midland, Michigan, 2024. All right, well, we are back. Very fitting. We are actually recording this time, boys. [00:34:24] Speaker D: Thank you. [00:34:24] Speaker A: Close out our raise. Rowdy live podcast from Tailgate in Tall boys, Midland, Michigan. We have two very special guests. They are natives of the great state of Illinois out in the Peoria area, and they own a club called Cruisins. They run a company called USA Concerts, and they run this festival, run the two other locations out in Illinois and Iowa. They are bringing the party to Midland, Michigan this weekend. Y'all give a warm welcome to our friends Wayne Klein and Austin Jones from USA Concerts. [00:34:53] Speaker D: Yeah. And the crowd goes wild, and they lose their mind. [00:34:59] Speaker A: How you boys doing? How. [00:35:01] Speaker D: Give me a fucking tenderloin. I'm sick of waiting. [00:35:03] Speaker A: Yeah. They're like, hey, how do we speed up? I hyped up the chicken parms on the stage earlier because they were really good. Those bistro Italiano guys are nice, too. Really, really nice dudes. Really enjoyed talking to them. But how is. How is your Midland experience been in 2024? What do we think so far? We're coming up on the end of it. So how's it been? [00:35:19] Speaker D: I mean, this is. This is the level that we like to be on, you know, tailgating tall boys to any city in America. But, um, you know, we went from, like, more of a smaller festival here our first two years, and to put this magnitude of a festival on here in Midland and get this response is incredible. So, yeah, we're super pumped. [00:35:39] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:35:40] Speaker E: Way different than last year here. I mean, this is next level. [00:35:44] Speaker A: Yeah. So, kind of going back. I know we talked about it in Bloomington. Had some. Had some technical difficulties and user errors on my end, but as far as kind of. Kind of y'all story with getting in USA concerts and cruisins and how does Tailgate and tall boys happen and come to be in kind of y'all's backstories? [00:36:01] Speaker D: Hey, hold on. Let's. [00:36:01] Speaker E: Let's not breeze past the air. I mean, let's just go ahead and put it out. I mean, we didn't hit record. All right, let's go. [00:36:09] Speaker A: And there's camera audio on there, didn't you. [00:36:11] Speaker D: Is this mic on? [00:36:12] Speaker E: You gotta talk. [00:36:13] Speaker A: You got to talk into the microphone. [00:36:15] Speaker D: Talking into the mic. [00:36:16] Speaker A: There you are. Yes. [00:36:17] Speaker E: I just wanted to air that out. It's on record. [00:36:19] Speaker A: It is on record that I didn't press record. And we tried to get the camera audio, and it was windy as hell that weekend in Bloomington. All right, we know we can let that now. We know we're past it. [00:36:28] Speaker D: All right, so same questions. [00:36:30] Speaker A: Yes, very similar. Very similar. [00:36:32] Speaker D: Literally lied on every question I answered. So now I got to remember my lies. It's going to be terrible. Anyway, no. Tailgate and tall boys cruising started off as a sponsor of Tailgate and Tallboys. It was in my hometown, and I always loved the festival. So in 2019, you know, there was a struggle with. With Tailgate and Tallboys, you know, with some things that went on. You know, one of the lead investors ended up passing away, and I wanted to. I wanted to save the festival, so I put some investors together and started USA concerts, which took over Tailgate and Tallboys. But I've always had a passion to book, you know, national acts, live music, especially, you know, acts out of Nashville at cruising. So to be able to watch the artists, you know, start at cruisins and end up getting into the. Into the festival world, you know, sometimes they go to the side stage, then they go, you know, to the main stage, maybe as a, you know, first of four, and the next thing you know, they're. They're headlining the festival. It's a. It's a really cool experience. You know, we, you know, we've had, you know, so many artists that have rolled through the club and end up on the festival and then end up headlining the festival, and it's just amazing to watch the growth. And we, you know, when we took it over, we kind of were like, this is going to be a fun thing. I'm going to throw these, like, redneck parties, and we're going to. It's not going to be anything crazy. And then all of a sudden, it's. It's like, oh, wow, we're in Bloomington, Illinois, then we're in Clinton, Iowa. Now we're up here in Midland, Michigan. And it's just kind of all went through, just relationships, partnerships, networking through this business. It's a very small, tight, you know, business. Everybody, you know, they're either going to talk really bad about you or really good about you. And I feel the way that it's going. People are talking good about it. So. [00:38:16] Speaker A: Yes, absolutely, man. It's. It's an experience coming to this festival from what you provide the artists, the crowd that it draws, not just in numbers, but in love of music and love of guitar. You're bringing national act level country music to small town America. And it is incredible for what you guys are doing in the midwest to where Tailgate and Tallboys is becoming a household name. We hear it and we see it. National people are like, man, you guys are so lucky to be working with Tailgate and Tallboys. That festival festival fucks every artist. Like, different agencies talk about it, where the artists come back and they're like, man, we want to go play that again. And you've had some returning artists, like the guys yesterday from Lake. You, bro, the best. Like, I probably seen him a dozen times. Best Lakeview show I've ever seen was lap was yesterday here in Midland. [00:38:58] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. They. I mean, those guys are. Their, their gas is wide open. I can't wait to see the growth of that band. I mean, it's already been incredible. From the very first time Lakeview played cruisers and opened up for Mitchell Tenpenny, I got these, like, five Jack tatted up dudes. I'm like, opening up for Mitchell, Tim. I'm like, who are these guys? They, right before they go on stage, they drop down and do, like, 100 push ups. I'm like, what the fuck? I'm like, you're making me look really bad, you know? Yeah, I couldn't do ten, but, you know, Austin was actually at that show also. So, you know, we're sitting there side stage, and Austin and I are looking at each other like, holy fuck. [00:39:35] Speaker E: Came out because I fall. I started seeing their TikToks. That was when they were doing these tiktoks of them landscaping 1 minute, and then, like, trying to play shows and stuff. And I reach out to them, and it just. Them opening up for Mitchell, then starting to build to each of their own cruising shows, you know, time and time again. Just every time, more followers, more followers. Same with these shows here. [00:39:55] Speaker D: What was Jesse and Luke saying yesterday? They're like the. They're like the house band of tailgate and Tallboys. They've played every single one. And if we can make it work, we're gonna make sure we have those guys on every single one of our festivals until they don't want to play them, you know? So, because they leave it out. [00:40:09] Speaker E: I mean, look at them. They put everything, and they have that, like, chip. They have that chip on their shoulder a little bit. Like, dude, they gave us our first main stage play. Clinton was the first main stage play, and they had to wear those booties and stuff. Like, then they rolled with it, and they owned that stage. It was always good to see that. [00:40:26] Speaker A: They're awesome. And then Alexandra Kelly just finished up another one, and she's a southern Illinois girl, so that's got that hometown kind of feel. Warren Ziders has been at a bunch of these things. To me, when I think of tailgate, I think of jelly roll. Like, there's just a brand association of. Of jelly roll. And the jelly roll crowd, the underdog mindset, the people that are looking for, if they're gonna go do one thing this year, they're gonna go to tailgate and tall boys, and they're gonna party, and they're gonna drink, and they're gonna smoke, and they're gonna bring their kids and bring their cousins and bring their brothers and sisters. Dude. And it's like the jelly roll, like, where it's like you're going to church, you know? And Ike is doing a great job on security right now. Let's give Ike a job. You need a job. You gotta go down to the pita. Yeah. [00:41:09] Speaker E: Even like that. So jelly roll played here. We had jelly roll. One off show, not last year, but the year before. [00:41:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:41:15] Speaker E: And Jelly was on every one of the festivals. [00:41:17] Speaker D: Yeah. [00:41:17] Speaker E: Before. He was a really a household name then. [00:41:20] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:41:22] Speaker E: We do that with multiple different people where it's like, once you get on it, let's just keep. [00:41:27] Speaker D: Keep riding it. [00:41:28] Speaker E: Yeah, keep riding that. [00:41:29] Speaker A: Absolutely. So what do we have coming up at cruisins? The lineup that you guys had won? The festival lineups have all been awesome, but the what you guys are bringing to Peoria with Farmington Road, with cruises, which also talk about how you guys have three locations. Now, that blows my mind, because I remember going in the first one, and it was in 2021, it was when I was with Trey Lewis, dick down in Dallas stuff, and I remember you guys talking. You had just started really taking over tailgating. Tall was. We were settling up in the green. [00:41:58] Speaker D: 2019 is when we started USA concerts. But really, the ball, we really didn't. We weren't able to do the 2020 festival because of COVID And, you know, we're not going to talk about that shit, but. And then, you know, we roll into 2021, and that's. That's really, you know, we had Morgan on the lineup, you know, with. With John Pardi, Sam Hunt, Ludacris. [00:42:19] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:42:20] Speaker D: Hardy was on that. Larry Fleet. I'm going to forget some names, but, you know, just that Tyler chill or which. No, no, 2019. But, um. But that one was at Louisville slugger in Peoria, Illinois. And then that was like, holy shit. That was something that. It had never been that big with that lineup ever there. And then we weren't able to. To do it the year after because the. The date didn't work out. That's how we moved to Bloomington. But, um, you know, to go back to Cruisins and the. In the shows that we have coming up, we have an incredible fall lineup. But, um, everybody, I mean, it's crazy. [00:43:00] Speaker E: We got. We got Ella Langley. [00:43:02] Speaker A: That's why that one sold out August 16. Every show that she has in the southeast has sold out already, just announced or so it's cut. The sellout is coming for you guys. [00:43:12] Speaker D: Yeah, I take that shit personal. Like, when I. When I see artists, I'll go back to cruising's when it went 2021. All right, so. So, no, not. It was a 2021. Yeah, so, yeah, Trey Lewis was one of our first shows out of code. [00:43:22] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:43:23] Speaker D: And I go back to that, and I'm looking on. I'm looking on social media, and I see Trey Lewis, and it's like, sold out, sold out, sold out, sold out, sold out, sold out. Cruisans. I'm like, you gotta be fucking kidding me. God, I am terrible at this shit. I'm so bad at this shit. I've been doing this shit for 20 years, and I still can't figure it out. But no, so we had, like, I hit the walk up, sold it, ended up selling it out. [00:43:46] Speaker A: The walk up was nuts for that. Yes. [00:43:48] Speaker D: It was like, we're, like, sitting at, like, a hundred and some tickets and, you know, our sellout stuff, and I'm just like. We're like. And I'm looking at, like. I think I was like, dude, I'm like, embarrassed. Like, your whole tour is sold out besides this cruisings one. And it ended up getting to a sellout. [00:44:02] Speaker A: Yeah. The world cups, man. We love. [00:44:05] Speaker D: It was crazy. [00:44:05] Speaker A: So you got Ella. [00:44:06] Speaker E: All right, so we got Ella Langley in August. We got David Morris on August 24. He was here last year. Crushed it. We got Austin Williams. [00:44:16] Speaker A: Oh, he's great. I just did a podcast with him recently. That kid is awesome. [00:44:21] Speaker D: He just played the opera. [00:44:21] Speaker A: Yeah. You guys are close with Chase. Matthew. He's like Chase's little brother, so he's in that realm. [00:44:26] Speaker E: We got George Burge. [00:44:28] Speaker A: Love George. [00:44:28] Speaker E: Corey Smith returning. He's played I don't know how many different times every time. [00:44:33] Speaker A: Corey Smith, baby. The legend. [00:44:36] Speaker E: We got Josh Ross. [00:44:38] Speaker A: All of our boys. [00:44:40] Speaker E: We've got. [00:44:41] Speaker D: You might have to come to that. [00:44:42] Speaker A: I was going to say the Josh one. We might have to come up to. I think Alex Holam is coming to up for that one. [00:44:46] Speaker E: We got Nate Smith. [00:44:47] Speaker A: Oh, hell yeah. [00:44:47] Speaker E: One sold. [00:44:48] Speaker C: That was sold out. [00:44:49] Speaker A: Carly Scott Collins, a good friend of ours, opening. So, yeah, that bill, Lily Rose awesome. [00:44:54] Speaker E: Was announced, lily, a little bit ago. We've got Michael Ray, Austin Snell. [00:44:59] Speaker A: I mean, that's a solid fucking lineup, boys. [00:45:02] Speaker D: What's even more wild is. What's even more crazy is, like, last night, you know, we were here at tailgate and Tallboys and Sammy Kershaw played Cruisans last night. [00:45:18] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:45:18] Speaker D: And we're stuck Sammy fucking Kershaw plays cruising, and I'm. And I'm like. I look at Austin, I'm like, dude, we're. I don't know. I'm kind of shook right now because I'm having fomo. I'm sitting here at tailgating tall boys, but I'm also having fomo because Sammy Kershaw's playing my bar, and I'm not. [00:45:34] Speaker E: He sent me a message, like, dude, we got it. We. It's confirmed. And, I mean, I'm calling my grandma. I'm calling my friends. I'm like, dude, sammy Kershaw is coming. Sammy Kershaw is coming. I'm even called him. I'm super excited. Super excited. Oh, wait, dude, we're not even gonna be there. I don't even get fanned out about any of it. And all of a sudden, I'm like, I'm actually upset about this. This actually makes me very sad. [00:45:57] Speaker A: Wild. But that's something I love about what you guys doing with USA concerts is that you're packing out your bar, your club, the place that means so much to you guys that you've really grown up. I know you said you were a bar back in there. Like, you guys go back with that. Walt, listen to them. [00:46:10] Speaker E: Listen to the people, though, have played it, though. [00:46:12] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:46:12] Speaker D: So. But cruise, you said cruising's, like, three locations. You know, one of our, like, the one, the Farmington road location is not the original location. [00:46:20] Speaker A: Oh, really? [00:46:21] Speaker D: That one is. That one was built in 1999. The original location is built in 1985. And in 2007, we took over cruising, myself and Stephen. Cruising and took it over. And right then and there, that's where I'm like, I want to book national acts. And, you know, I always say, like, I'm a poor, poor man's ed. Warm from, like, Joe's on weed, you know, because we love Ed. [00:46:51] Speaker A: Shout out, Ed. Yeah. Love that. [00:46:53] Speaker D: I don't even know him, but hell, yeah. He does great things up in Chicago, you know, with. With all his plays. Bub city, Joe's, Rosemont, Joe's weed. Joe's on weed. I. He's got a few more. [00:47:02] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:02] Speaker D: I'm forgetting. But. But I ended up going just typing in, like, live music venues, like, with a, like, 100 5200 miles radius of cruisins. And I. I'm looking at Joe's on weeds lineup, and I call every single one. And this is like, back when I had a hotmail emailotmail.com. so this is some funny shit, but, uh, so I'm. I'm sending emails to all these agents that I have no idea, you know, caa, wme, whatever the hell that means at that time. And. And it's coming to the agents from a hotmail account. They're like, yeah, skip. Skip. You know, like, whatever, yeah. But then I call a guy. I can't, Jeff. I call him Jeff. Adam Craig, you know? [00:47:49] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:47:50] Speaker D: And he answers his phone. I'm like, hey, this is. This is Wayne with cruising in peoria, Illinois. And I want to book your artist named Adam Craig. And he goes, oh, yeah. And then we talk, and next thing you know, by the end of it, I booked two of his artists. I book Adam craig, and I booked Chris Weaver. They were playing at Joe's on weed in Chicago, and from that moment, I stopped booking cover bands. And. And what happened is Adam Craig ended up going and getting signed by broken bow, and. No, he was a songwriter out of Nashville. Still is. [00:48:17] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, we love Adam. [00:48:18] Speaker D: We love amazing songwriter. And he, you know, he. He gets signed with, you know, broken boat, then Wme picks him up, and now. Now I have to book him through WME. And that's how that relationship started. So that's really what happened, is I started trying to pick off some artists that are routing through our area. We're pure air. We're not. We're not a major market. You know, cruisins is a live music was a second thought. We were just a sports bar to. On a college campus, and we took the music, you know, the live music to the next level. And it really, from, like I said, from that day forward, took. Took it to the next level. That brings us to the original Cruisans. Now we do, like, most of our cover bands and our local live music at the Cruisans war memorial location. And then we opened up Cruisans route 29, which is our barbecue place. We have Whitey's barbecue there. [00:49:08] Speaker A: Shout out to Whitey, bro. [00:49:10] Speaker D: Dude, he's a workhorse. [00:49:11] Speaker A: I love that guy. [00:49:12] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, some good ass bars. I mean, if he was out here, his lines would be crazy, but he's cooking for all the artists. He always does. [00:49:18] Speaker A: Yeah, dude, he's the. Nice job. We appreciate it so much. Oh, there we go. Oh. [00:49:30] Speaker E: Her Instagram account grew by three followers. Seriously, name the, like, some of the top people that have played. I mean, this is historic. Like, we just started doing these frame pictures, like a comedy club where it's like, yeah, all the people that have done it. But if we could go back and list them out. I mean, Morgan Wallin plays cruisins. [00:49:52] Speaker D: Yeah, I mean, we've had. We've had everybody. We've had bone thugs and harmony. We've also had Neil McCoy. We've had Lil Wayne. Yeah, little. Little fucking Wayne played cruises, which I feel like at that moment, I'm like, that's probably the coolest thing that I've ever done as booking music. But if I now I say Morgan Wallins played Cruisans, they're like, are you freaking kidding me? Like, this is crazy. So, like, he's kind of trumped, you know, Lil Wayne. But, you know, we've had Hardy Lainey Wilson. Incredible. She's played cruisins. [00:50:23] Speaker A: I love your Paul Cawthon story. Back in your Paul Cawthon story, you told it last time. [00:50:28] Speaker D: Oh, yeah. [00:50:29] Speaker A: When you booked Paul, and you were very early on that. [00:50:32] Speaker D: Yeah. So I booked Paul Cawthon because of cocaine. Country dancing. [00:50:36] Speaker A: I love it. [00:50:37] Speaker D: I mean, what a song. And the video is even better. [00:50:40] Speaker A: Yes, it is. [00:50:41] Speaker D: But we. So I book them, and I'm sitting there and, you know, we're pre selling tickets, and, like, I think we sold two tickets or one ticket. What? Like, I don't know, one to three tickets. Like, awful. Like, it's like, paul, myself, one of my friends, and, like, one person had shown up at, like, an hour after doors, and, you know, Paul's looks at me, goes, man, I'm embarrassed. I'm like, bro, you're embarrassed? I'm really embarrassed. I'm so sorry. He's like, don't be sorry, man. Like, I'm gonna play that stage. Like, this place is sold out. And I'm not even kidding you. He played that stage like unbelievable cocaine. Country dancing became, like, number one on our jukebox. Just because I could kept, like, that's like, I just kept videoing the snapchatting, like, you know, right when that was just getting hot. [00:51:30] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:51:31] Speaker D: Kept putting it out there. Putting it out there. And I kept playing it on my jukebox. Then my staff started playing it, and then everybody started playing the song. Well, watch out for that hole we fat. [00:51:39] Speaker E: You stepped in. [00:51:40] Speaker D: Oh, no, we fast forward. [00:51:41] Speaker A: Follow us at raise rowdy. You can see the whole podcast on there. [00:51:45] Speaker D: I mean, people are jumping on this table. [00:51:47] Speaker A: It's wild. It's wild. We wanted to do it when it was busy, you know. Oh, yeah. [00:51:51] Speaker D: Then we book. Then we booked Paul again. And it sells out on. On sale. [00:51:55] Speaker E: It's just like he stepped in the hole. [00:51:56] Speaker D: That's all good. They can walk by. [00:51:58] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:51:59] Speaker D: But, um, it's that. Those are the. Those are the stories. And then we got to watch Paul open up for Eric Church, you know, back in June in Bloomington, Illinois. And it was the coolest moment, like, so to see that and then just to talk to Paul about that. [00:52:11] Speaker E: Yeah, but that's another cruise ends to the main stage. [00:52:14] Speaker A: Yeah. [00:52:15] Speaker E: Like, that's. We've been talking about there for a while. Just all these different people that play cruising, and, I mean, all these people just want to be famous. That's all they want to do is just get on this podcast. [00:52:26] Speaker A: Yes, yes. [00:52:27] Speaker D: Which won't really look at these freaking lines for food. Starving. Right. [00:52:31] Speaker A: People are starving. People are drinking. People are eating. It's been like this. It hasn't been quite like this. Tonight is definitely a bit bigger, I guess. [00:52:40] Speaker D: I want to ask you, like, what do you think of the vibe here in Midland, Michigan? You go to it. The raise. Rowdy crew goes to a ton of festivals. [00:52:47] Speaker A: Yeah, this one's been my favorite because I loved Iowa a lot. I love Illinois. Illinois is like the granddaddy of them all. For you guys, that's the bigger scale. That's the four days. That's the main stage, the side stage, the incredible after parties that are legendary, that I will talk about till the day that I die. But this festival, I love that. It's, like, compact. It's very walkable, which I really, really like. And the people have all been great. The vendors have all been outstanding and fantastic. Everything's been as good as it can be for a festival. We're getting a lot of love over at our tent. Artist merch has been fucking nuts. I think all the vendors are getting their value out of it, and the music's been kick ass, and the artists have vibed really well, and the crowd has gotten every artist because you go to some places, and it's like, I've seen jelly roll in Ohio and at a different festival, and it doesn't hit like it did when we were in Bloomington last year, when we were in Clinton earlier this year, when we're going to be here in Midland tonight. And it's like, you find the right artists that fit the crowd vibe, and you know what these people want to hear. And I really like that. [00:53:52] Speaker D: That's like, you know, yesterday I was getting interviewed by the news here in Midland. I said, you know, this was our. Our first year was last year here in Midland. And we walked in here and we didn't really know what was to expect. And we come in here, we do tailgate and tall boys with young gravy and chase, Matthew and Bailey, Zimmerman and Atlas, and still a great line horse. And it was. It was awesome last year. Washington was awesome. Nothing. Nothing against last year, but, I mean, that was an SL 320. Stage. Line. Stage. This is a five, you know, 575. So much bigger production. And, you know, but rolling in here this year, people are talking about us. We're going to the bars, we're going to the gas stations, going to the casino. We're, you know, we're going through town, and people are talking about tailgating. Tall boys. Last year, they weren't, you know, so we have a buzz. We feel welcome. This is like. Feels like home here. So that's why I said what I said is, like, now it feels like home. So we're here to stay. And Nick here with them, with the. With the fairgrounds. He runs the joint. [00:54:48] Speaker A: The fairgrounds have been fantastic. [00:54:50] Speaker D: Dude, Nick is unreal. The hospitality here is awesome. [00:54:52] Speaker A: Shout out in a hotel that's walkable. I guess, technically in Bloomington, some of those hotels, if you really want to walk, are kind of walkable. But this. The fact that the ho. The Holiday Inn that's right around the corner, like, you're not totally out of civilization, but you're still getting the small town feel by being at the fairgrounds. Dude, I love. This has been my favorite festival experience this year. I think we've been to, like, seven or eight. This has, by far, been my favorite. Go blue. There you go. A spartan fan would have walked right through it. But he gets it. He gets it. He knows. There we go. There we go. There we go. The Donald. The Donald. But we appreciate you guys so much for having us, and we feel like. We feel the family vibe from you guys. Like, you guys have welcomed us into the tailgate and tall Boys USA concerts. Family. And that's. [00:55:41] Speaker D: That's one thing I can say from the time. From the time we started in 2019, you know, I brought Austin this idea. Austin jumped all over it. He kind of had a different job at that time, so he wasn't able to get to come all in. [00:55:55] Speaker E: Kind of a different job. I had a full time job. [00:55:57] Speaker D: Oh, yeah, whatever. I don't even. [00:56:00] Speaker E: At one point, I'm like, dude, wayne. Like, I have a job that's paying me, like, 80% of my salary, and I'm spending 20% of my time doing that job. [00:56:08] Speaker A: What job is. What job is that? [00:56:10] Speaker E: I was in manufacturing. [00:56:11] Speaker A: Oh, okay. [00:56:12] Speaker E: I was in manufacturing. [00:56:13] Speaker A: Now you're helping manufacture festivals. [00:56:15] Speaker E: So I'm like. It was like, nice clothes all this. [00:56:19] Speaker D: Stuff now you get to come here at USA concerts. We really don't give a shit about anything but us. [00:56:25] Speaker E: I don't give a fuck about your other job, dude. I need this ticketing. [00:56:28] Speaker D: I don't care about. I don't care if you're sick. I don't like, it doesn't matter what's going on in your life. [00:56:33] Speaker E: There are no sick, but no o. [00:56:34] Speaker D: So. So, anyways, like, now that, you know, I. Austin comes in, and, you know, I asked him to come. You know, you got to come in full bore with this. And. And I literally threw him into the. Like, I'm like, by the way, you're, like, by the hit wet. By the way, you're head of marketing. So. So he's like, well, I've never, ever done marketing. [00:56:53] Speaker E: Zero marketing. [00:56:54] Speaker D: Yeah. That's why I hired you. [00:56:55] Speaker E: Oh. [00:56:56] Speaker D: Somebody with zero experience so we can build this together. [00:56:59] Speaker E: Mind you, I got a Facebook account at 30 years old, and I was getting ready to completely disconnect from social media, and then I started here. Now I'm gonna be, you know, head of marketing, so. [00:57:09] Speaker D: But we could talk about that side of it where, you know, Austin's taking the marketing to a whole nother level from. From everything. From everything. From our partnerships with. With nothing fancy to the partnerships with. You guys raise rowdy from influencers to. To just partnerships with different radio stations across the nation to, you know, the local community and stuff like that. But, like, no, Austin brought this idea to me, you know, and, like, oh, I love. I love freaking razor outd. Like, that's. That's all. And they, like, they want to be, like, a part of this. Like, well, how. You know, and this has been, like, this has been so cool from last year, you know, when you guys called me out of the blue to come do a. You know, a podcast. [00:57:52] Speaker E: Hot dogs. Wayne sits down, puts them on the spot. [00:57:54] Speaker D: Oh, and we know, by the way. By the way, by the way, Austin's like, yo, man, you got to go do a podcast with. With race. Rowdy, I can't go fishing right now. What the fuck are you talking about? [00:58:03] Speaker E: So, hey, so then we were driving up here to Michigan last year. Okay, when I say we were driving, I drive. Okay? Wayne is passed out in the passenger seat. I'm driving. I think it was to here to Nashville, one of the two places, and all of a sudden, I'm like, oh, shoot, you guys dropped that podcast. Oh, I should listen to it. Start playing the podcast. I'm listening to Josh talking about stuff I'm listening to Wayne. All of a sudden, Wayne wakes up from mid sleep and goes, shut this fucking shit off. He's like, I've never woke up to the sound of my own voice before. Like, fuck that. [00:58:40] Speaker A: We're doing a podcast. Raise rowdy. Look us up. Hell, yeah. She's having fun, yo. She's having a great time. That's what I'm saying, dude. People here a party. What I love about you guys, too, and again, the USA concert stuff. I don't know who the older dude is in the merch and running the merch table. [00:58:58] Speaker E: Is that Unc we call Monk uncle? [00:59:00] Speaker A: Oh, yeah, he's Corey. Uncle Corey. That's Corey. Okay, so Cory and Tommy and that merch stand, bro, I want those guys have their own reality show. I'd watch that shit every week. It's like. It's like watching like a JD baseball coach that is just jacked up on pre workout. And these guys are just in there. These kids are just in there just bench pressing and lifting and then just all ragging on each other. They are hilarious. And they are killing it at the merch. I love those guys. [00:59:26] Speaker E: He's always yelling them the moment they start screwing up, doing something. He's like, what are we doing, guys? [00:59:30] Speaker A: We got people over here. [00:59:31] Speaker E: He'll always text me by, hey, you guys ready? Sling some cotton. He's like, always like, let's sell some merchant shit. And he is like, all over. [00:59:38] Speaker D: It's actually, if you want. If you're scared to get your balls busted, like, you do not want to make eye contact. [00:59:44] Speaker A: Over to the merch tank. Over to the merch tank. [00:59:47] Speaker D: They Houston crews out here. He fucking crushed it, by the way. [00:59:52] Speaker E: Did you have him on here? [00:59:53] Speaker A: No, we did not. We did not. We had Alexandra K, we had Lakeview, we had Mike stole, and we had DJ Clippy D. Very, very well. [01:00:02] Speaker D: I mean, I immediately is text. I'm texting his ra. I'm texting the agent that I booked the shamanic. I'm like, Houston. I'm like, what the fuck? This dude's fucking unreal. A hell of a mean. He plays the first. Played the first slot, you know, just like, you know, just like Tucker Whitmore yesterday. I mean, playing the first slot on a festival is very hard. You know, you're like, everybody's amped up, but there's not the. Usually the majority of the crowd is not there. So you're trying to, you know, get the vibe going. Sometimes the fans don't know who you are because it's the crazies for the headliner that are getting their way early to get their good spot and. But, dude, both of our openers, like, Tucker killed it yesterday and Houston killed it today. I couldn't be more proud of both of those artists and can't wait to see what. What their future looks like, you know? [01:00:42] Speaker E: Yeah, it sounds like Warren even just went on, I think. [01:00:44] Speaker D: Yeah. Yeah. [01:00:45] Speaker A: Warren. Warren just went on, and he's awesome. And jelly tonight, closing it out. What do we have to look forward to for next year? What. What beans can you spill about 2025? [01:00:56] Speaker D: I really can't. I can't really spill any beans, but, uh, I want to say that, um. [01:01:03] Speaker A: Three locations. [01:01:04] Speaker D: Three locations. [01:01:04] Speaker A: Okay. [01:01:05] Speaker D: Clinton, iowa. Bloomington, Illinois. Midland, Midland, Michigan. We will be back at all three of those. The line. The lineups are gonna be incredible. Like, we always put together awesome lineups. [01:01:14] Speaker E: So I would say Bloomington is gonna be as big as. It's big as it's ever been. [01:01:17] Speaker D: Well, you know, I mean, hopefully, you know, we haven't got everything confirmed, but, uh, I don't want to jinx this, you know? But, um, really, like, what I want to say is, I feel like we have no idea what the hell we're doing. And I've actually read a text message from somebody that. That was kind of, like, hating on us a little bit. I'm not gonna mention names, but. And I read this, and, you know, it's going on and on and on, basically, about saying we have no. They have no idea what they're doing, and blah, blah, blah, to one of our other employees that, you know, helps us out during the festival. And. And I want to say that, like, I actually believe she's right. We don't know what the fuck we're doing. I can't wait to see what we do. Like, what we do when we do know what the fuck. Hey, if this is not knowing what we're doing, I fucking, fucking go. [01:02:06] Speaker A: We're doing pretty good. Yes. That's how. That's how I feel with raised rowdy, every day. With Nick and I, too, we're very much figuring it out and getting better with every event that we go to, every event that we put on in town, every podcast that we do, we're. We're getting better and figuring it out, because at the end, like, we don't know what we're doing. I've had some experiences, and I apply those, what I learned in those experiences. But, like you said. [01:02:27] Speaker D: But I love when people say that, because it just literally just fills the gas tank up for me to press the gas even harder. And that's. That's. I mean, I love the compliments. I love, you know, the high fives and stuff like that, but as soon as I get a bitch slap, I'm like, oh, fuck, I need to get my shit together and let's go. You know, that's really what, you know, the energy that we get from all sides, you know, even the negative things that help. Help us grow and help, you know, and, like, you say, what's coming next year, and we're just trying to get better every single year. Make the lineups, you know, dialed in, get the festival dialed in, make the experiences better, do better for our sponsors, better for our fans, better for our partners, because when everybody wins, it never dies. So that's really what we. That's. That's what we want to do. We want to grow this thing. We want to, you know, put on experiences to last a lifetime, and that's what. That's what we're here for. And Austin and I and our short team, you know, we, you know, our security guys are amazing with, you know, Tony and Tony and cool. Our side ops guy with. With Charles is a one man wrecking crew. He doesn't want any help ever. That's probably his biggest problem. But he's. He's an animal. He does a great job, you know, Austin and myself and. And Evan and Tommy and just. And everybody that we have and, you know, Stephen, even my. He's my business partner. Steven is something that, like, he's running around catering. He is. Like, a lot of behind the scenes of catering. He kills it back there, and. And it's just we all have our own parts of what we do, and we come together, and we're. We're not afraid to jump over the fence and help each other out. Sometimes it causes a little problem because we're starting to do everybody else's job. We're not focusing on our own, but, yeah, for the most part, like, we just want to get better every single year, and just the sky's the limit for us, and we. And we can't thank you guys enough for becoming part, believing in us and becoming partners. What do you mean, raise? Rowdy wants to come to our festival like we. Awesome. [01:04:15] Speaker A: No other festival has believed in us and understood what we do with raised Rowdye like you guys do. You know, nobody's let me get on a stage and do what I've gotten doing. I had the. [01:04:25] Speaker D: By the way, by the way, by the way, you're killing it. [01:04:27] Speaker A: I'm doing a lot better this time around. I did. [01:04:29] Speaker E: I think I did okay, right? [01:04:31] Speaker D: You did great. But I feel like. I think you were so amped, like, you just were blowing your voice. Like, by the way, it was. That was a long two weeks, bro. Yeah, for you. You. I mean, that was. And I'm, like, putting you on. I just, like, I kind of just like, yeah, let him go on there. He's, like, up there for, like, an hour, like, just blabbing, you know? I mean, artists play for, like, 90 minutes for a reason. [01:04:49] Speaker A: You know, they're professional. Yeah. [01:04:50] Speaker D: Because their voice would go if they played any longer. But, uh, that's. That's really, you know, we just say, you know, you got seven days, and, like, in those seven days, you probably were on the stage, like, 14 hours. [01:05:03] Speaker A: Yeah, I was on stage a lot. And then we host in Nashville, but hosting and bars and hosting out here, very different things. But, yeah, this is the most comfortable I've been. I figured I would get there by mid late. [01:05:12] Speaker D: Oh, you're killing. [01:05:13] Speaker A: It's been fun. I took my damn in the crowd. [01:05:16] Speaker D: In the crowd is loving you. [01:05:18] Speaker A: I've been taking pictures and sign autographs, and I'm just a fucking dude, and I'm out here. I got little kids coming up to me being like, can you sign this? Can you sign that? I'm like, cool. [01:05:25] Speaker E: You're somebody's hero. [01:05:26] Speaker A: It's a sub little kid. He's like, that guy said the f word. He's cool. I'm trying to cut back a little bit on those and. And learn. Learning as I go. And it's been awesome to grow with you guys. [01:05:36] Speaker E: How are you gonna be raised rowdy? If you can. [01:05:38] Speaker A: I know. I was my favorite part on. I remember reading the Facebook comments, and I sent Austin a picture. I was like, dude, I'm so sorry. And Austin was like. And we called him after and talked on the phone, and he was like, bro, that's. That's what I don't want a guy that's afraid of. Not, like, afraid to not say something like, this is tailgate and Tallboys. This is the fun stuff. Like, if you get up there, like, what other hosts have done in the past with different things. You were very much in the. In the good spot. [01:06:06] Speaker E: You haven't really a nude calendar yet, so I think we're so pg. [01:06:09] Speaker A: Yeah, no, no nude calendar is coming. No new calendar is coming. Maybe, maybe, maybe we get ike to do that, but not me. [01:06:17] Speaker E: A race rowdy little calendar. [01:06:19] Speaker A: A Christmas calendar. We might have to do it. And you guys came to our Christmas party last year and that was awesome. At the rusty nail. We did. [01:06:25] Speaker D: Your Christmas party was like second to. [01:06:27] Speaker A: None at the fucking rusty nail where they served beer for $3. It's a little. [01:06:33] Speaker D: Charles was just literally yesterday, Charles was telling that story. He's like, yeah, like, killed it on the. We go to this, like, Christmas party that I thought we. I didn't know where we were going. Way outside of Nashville. And like, we get there and it's a karaoke thing, and. And he goes, Wayne's buying shots for everybody that lives on the street as well. And I was like. I was. He goes, yeah. He's like, you kept buying like a hundred Vegas bombs at a time. Yeah. [01:06:56] Speaker A: I was like. [01:06:57] Speaker D: And the bartender, and they're. And they would ring it up and like, a hundred Vegas bombs, they're like $250. I'm like, you guys charge what? This play? I'm in Nashville, right? Like 100 Vegas bomb would be like $12,000. [01:07:09] Speaker A: I thought it was Nikki T. Jolly St. Nick in the Christmas suit. We have Lakeview get up and do karaoke. [01:07:15] Speaker D: Christmas party was so much fun. [01:07:17] Speaker A: So if you guys end up being in town, if that lines up with a trip or anything, whenever you guys come to town, obviously, I think we. [01:07:23] Speaker D: Have to make that trip. Yes, that's part of the calendar. [01:07:25] Speaker A: Is that thing in Peoria still happening in September that you guys are going to. We had talked about the Flora bama last time. The Peoria. There was something going on. Puree. September 1314. That's happening. I don't know. [01:07:40] Speaker D: That was the play in Peoria situation. [01:07:42] Speaker A: That still happening? [01:07:44] Speaker D: I don't think so. I mean, we're not. We're not done with it yet, but, you know, we are. [01:07:49] Speaker C: That will be a. [01:07:50] Speaker A: Probably a next year thing you're in if you're free. September 13 and 14th raised rowdy takeover at the Flora bama the most. The crazy bar that has happened. [01:08:01] Speaker D: I haven't been there in 20 years, bro. Well. [01:08:03] Speaker A: Well, now you do. [01:08:04] Speaker D: I haven't been there like, in 20. How old am I? I've been there in 23 years. [01:08:10] Speaker A: Yeah, dude, if we're doing a raise row, you take over. Bring in some of our favorite new artists. It's our buddy Josh Terry's birthday. It's our buddy Landon Smith who was with us in Bloomington. It's his 21st birthday. We're bringing our buddies from Shackelford, Lane, Tanner Olson Band, all these, like, up and coming acts, we're bringing them down to play at the Florabama that weekend. And if you guys are free for that Friday, Saturday to do a little, like, do a little. It's like adult spring break almost. It's like crab pretty much is like in their. In their thirties and forties and above and everybody's just partying. It's the beautiful white sand beaches, the seafood, the bushwhackers. And it would be an honor if you and anybody else from the crew came down and partied. We'll do our best. If you guys can make it. Get one last beach vacation in before it gets really fucking cold in Illinois. Dude, it's. Ike's going to be down there for the first time. We're bringing Danny, me and Nikki t. Of course. I think Mike soul is going to try to come down. We're bringing, I think, Alex Holem. I talked him into doing it, which wasn't that hard. He'll go wherever to party. But, like, if you guys are free for that, to have you boys down at the florabama would be just full circle and incredible. [01:09:12] Speaker D: We can make it. We'll definitely be there. We appreciate that. Invite that, um. [01:09:15] Speaker A: Dude, you guys are. You guys. [01:09:16] Speaker D: Sounds insane, but, I mean, I don't know. I mean, are you sure you want me to come there? [01:09:21] Speaker A: Yeah, I want you because I want these artists and these people to build the. Again, it's all relationships. And look at Josh. Ross is like a little brother to you guys. Jelly's like family to you guys. Like, all these people that have come through and played at cruise's, you guys built these relationships and do so well at getting to know the artists, artists and their teams. And it's like, why not get to know them at the ground level with raised with the florabama, you know, and see the different acts and all of that stuff. But, fellas, this has been crazy. Look at these lines for the food. You talk about a vendor getting their. Getting their money's worth out here, bro, they're crushing it. They're making they that jelly roll food truck. This line has just been going all day. [01:09:57] Speaker D: All day. [01:09:57] Speaker A: It's past our tent down there to, like, where artist merch starts, like, all the way. It's craziness, but thanks for having us, man. Yeah. Anything else you guys want to tell people about cruisins USA concerts still getting tall, boys. [01:10:10] Speaker D: I mean, we just. We appreciate everybody. We appreciate the support from all the fans, from all the sponsors, from the community to our partners. And, you know, like I said, it starts. It usually starts at cruisins and it grows into this. And, you know, it's just like a big circle of love, you know, that's what we can't thank everybody enough. You know, where it's. It's. It's awesome. We're excited where we're at. And like I said, I can't wait till we know what we're doing, you know? [01:10:37] Speaker A: Yeah, absolutely. I love all the people. We're gonna have to play a game. Comment in the video. If you watch this, how many people walked through this interview? And we'll send you something from race. [01:10:46] Speaker E: Correct number wins them. [01:10:47] Speaker D: We should. We should say, like, guess the number of people that have walked through this. This. Yeah, this interview. [01:10:52] Speaker A: Like, that's the cap, that's the caption. We'll have maybe make a clip of all the different people walking and put it. Put a counter. That might be our viral clip. [01:10:59] Speaker D: Yeah, I. At first, I was giving you, like a nine, 9.5 out of ten when it came to security. Now you're like a 4.3 out of ten. But you just go. You go, you know what? Fuck it. Walk through. [01:11:09] Speaker E: I'm over it. [01:11:10] Speaker D: I mean, I got guys coming back and sit bitch slapping me and everything. It's amazing. [01:11:14] Speaker A: Dude. Dude, his video this weekend has been awesome, too. I don't know if you've seen any of the content pieces we sent. Ike and Mike stole around with a corndog, and the corn dog was very phallic looking and looked like a giant dick. And he was going around and sticking it. Sticking it like, we zip tied the microphone to the tip of the corndog. And Mike was just walking around interviewing people. Cause we didn't have the little Mike thing. So Mike was using the corndog for the interviews, and it was electric. Went up to this little kid that looked like this little kid came running up to him that looked like jelly roll and tried to fight Mike on camera. It was awesome. It was fun degeneracy. And he's gone out and gotten all kinds of good recap stuff. So I. We appreciate all that you've done. Thank you. There's the man. I said, that guy right there is the best dress for the festival. The. And one shorts below the knees. It's 2002 again. The Skechers, bro. The Reebok branded shirt. Like, I love that. [01:12:07] Speaker D: Crushing it. [01:12:07] Speaker A: That dude is crushing it. That dude is ready to party with jelly roll. A tailgate in Tallboys 2024. It has been incredible. But seriously, Wayne Austin. Thank you, guys. Happy to be a part of the USA concerts family. And if you guys will have us for 2025, we would love to come back and continue to grow with you guys and continue to show people what the Midwest country music. What the Midwest music festival, Mark, because it's more than just country music. It's whatever the fuck you boys want it to be. And people show up. But we'd love to be here next year. We really would. So if you'll have us again, we'd love to be. [01:12:39] Speaker D: You're coming back? [01:12:40] Speaker A: Fuck yes, we're coming back, Ike. We're coming back next year, y'all. I know you guys were sitting out there just waiting in line for your food, but y'all give a, give. Give a big hand for our boys. Wayne Klein and Austin Jones USA concerts. [01:12:51] Speaker D: We love you guys. [01:12:52] Speaker A: Two of the guys making this festival happen year after year. And they will be back here for midland in 2025. So it's gonna be awesome. Who's excited for jelly roll tonight? Oh, yeah, they're ready for jelly. Appreciate you guys listening, watching more excited. [01:13:06] Speaker D: For their corn dog. [01:13:07] Speaker A: I think they're very excited. Corndog, if you're in line for this bistro Italiano, get the chicken parm sandwich, you will not be disappointed. That's coming from my picky New York ass saying that they're out of Illinois. They're out of Chicago area. They are freaking delicious. So shout out to Bistro at deliano. This has been outside the round. Live on location, tailgate and tallboys, midland, Michigan, 2024. Day two. Warren Ziders is killing it right now.
